Chapter 879 Susan, Released from Prison

Although Nathan looked serious and expressionless, Nathan always looked charming no matter how he was photographed. Jane would simply adjust the lighting and enhance the photos after taking them, sharing them with Natalie, Flora, and keeping a backup for herself. She even mentioned bringing Tina next time to take photos with Nathan, which would definitely turn out great!

A few days ago, Arthur brought in a retired medical professor, and Tina was thrilled to seek knowledge from him. That evening, Natalie posted a photo of Nathan on her private News Feed—Nathan with a pacifier, looking at the camera with a serious yet strangely lazy expression.

The caption read: [Nathan meeting everyone~]

Natalie's private Facebook account had only a few connections, with work-related acquaintances added on her work account and friends on her personal Facebook. Soon, there was a frenzy of likes and comments:

[Nathan is so adorable! He could be an actor or a model! I'd sell bags to support him!]

[Noah, do you have no shame? Wanting to support Nathan, maybe you should sell your husband for a reality check.]

[Nathan's expression is so cute! Please let Natalie bring Nathan out to play, I want to play with him!]

[Oliver and Natalie are both good-looking, and Nathan is even more adorable!]

[Even though Nathan cost me a Rolex, it was worth it!]

[Nathan is so cute that I want to be his dad!]

[Mr. Harrington, what dreamland are you in? This doesn't concern you!]

Then, a bunch of people expressed their desire for their daughters to marry Nathan and become in-laws.

Until Oliver appeared in the comments.

Oliver: [Dreaming.]

After that, no one dared to mention becoming in-laws with Oliver.

“Sorry, I'm not worthy.” Many responded.

Natalie couldn't help but look up at the man sitting at the desk not far away.

Oliver quickly noticed Natalie's gaze. "What's up?"

"What are you looking at?" Natalie asked.

"Work documents."

Natalie tilted her head, then suddenly got up and rushed over to see that one of Oliver's laptops displayed a photo of Nathan taken by Jane earlier that day.

Oliver helplessly smiled, reached out, pulled Natalie back into his arms, and making her sit on his lap. Oliver's large hand grasped Natalie's waist with fingertips gently caressing.

Natalie's waist returned to its pre-pregnancy state, which greatly attracted Oliver.

"Nathan is right there, what are you looking at in the photo?" Natalie hooked her arm around Oliver's neck, but Oliver leaned in and kissed her.

Oliver glanced at the baby carriage not far away and then kissed Natalie's ear.

In a low, seductive voice, he said, "I'd rather look at Nathan's mom."

"Hey! Don't mess around, Nathan is here!" Natalie said to Oliver, feeling a bit startled by his intense gaze.

Oliver once again cast a familiar disdainful look at Nathan.

As if sensing his father's disdain, Nathan, lying in the crib, began to fidget.

Nathan didn't cry, but that didn't mean he wouldn't make a fuss.

Nathan could make noises to get Natalie's attention!

Sure enough, as soon as Natalie heard Nathan's voice, she quickly got up from Oliver's lap and hurried over. "What's wrong with Nathan? Mom's here!"

Natalie pointed to Oliver to emphasize his role as a father.

The tone was clearly reluctant, as if saying, “I don’t like Oliver! Go away!”

Oliver chuckled unceremoniously.

Oliver gazed at Nathan from a distance.

What function did Nathan have now besides caused trouble?

In the past, Oliver would have already pinned Natalie to the desk by now.

Oliver's phone vibrated.

It was a text from Jamie.

Oliver glanced at the message, his brow furrowing slightly.

"What's wrong?" Natalie sensed the unusual atmosphere.

"Nothing." Oliver squinted, replied to the text with a few words, and put away his phone.

Natalie felt uneasy and had intended to ask Oliver about his worries before bed, but then she received a message from Samuel.

Samuel: [Susan has been released.]

Nathan's toy slipped from Natalie's hand.

Oliver looked up and met Natalie's shocked gaze.

"What's wrong?" Oliver stood up and quickly walked over to Natalie.

"Susan has been released," Natalie said, noticing that Oliver wasn't surprised. "You just received this message, didn't you?"

Samuel must have informed Natalie of this news immediately, and Oliver's change in expression just now coincided with this.

"Yes," Oliver nodded.

Oliver had more information than Natalie and explained in detail, "Susan had a sudden heart attack, and the Hastings family applied for her release for medical treatment."

Releasing her for medical treatment would count towards her sentence.

If the Hastings family had been using this illness to delay, Susan might have been released only after serving her full sentence.

Susan had been in prison for less than two years!

Susan's happiness shouldn't come at the expense of others' suffering, but the thought that Susan hadn't received the punishment she deserved made Natalie heartbroken.

"The Hastings family must have realized that my plan wasn't working, so they changed their minds," Natalie said with grim expression.

That was supposed to be Natalie's blood-related family!

The so-called family!

The Hastings family clearly knew what Susan had done to Natalie! They also knew that Susan had ended up in prison for attempting to murder Natalie!

Previously, the Hastings family had seemed so eager for Natalie to return to them, and now Natalie found it all so ironic!

"Is Susan really having a heart attack?" Natalie asked Oliver persistently.

The current investigation results indeed showed that it was a heart attack.

The prison authorities knew that Oliver was keeping a close eye on things, so if it wasn't a genuine illness, Susan wouldn't have been able to use connections to be released for medical treatment.

"I need a moment alone," Natalie said, covering her eyes.

It wasn't that she wanted to cry.

Crying for people like the Hastings family wasn't worth it.

It seemed that Nathan sensed Natalie's emotional fluctuations, as he suddenly started to fuss in the crib, waving his little arms and legs unhappily.

Natalie was pulled back to reality by Nathan, but she didn't have the energy to soothe him now.

Nathan looked at Natalie with wide, puzzled eyes.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
