Chapter 236 Divorce Plans?

"I think Lilian is good. If she's willing to stay, let's use her. Honestly, what Lilian said is not wrong," Natalie said.

"Hmm?" Oliver turned his head to look at her.

"In the eyes of many people, I truly am not worthy of you. whether it be my background, status, or abilities might be added to the list. Lilian's dissatisfaction with me is a normal expression, and I can understand that. From the perspective of an onlooker, I would think the same way."

However, that's not what Natalie truly felt. She couldn't choose her background. Oliver was excellent and exceptionally powerful while she could only be the best version of herself in order for her to not feel inferior, let alone belittle herself.

After Natalie finished speaking, she felt an oppressive aura surrounding the man holding her, a chilling atmosphere enveloping them.

She turned her head and met Oliver's cold eyes.

"Natalie, do you want to divorce me?" Oliver asked. Not waiting for Natalie's response, he continued, "You don't have that right!"

Without his consent, she could only stay by his side!

"I... I don't think that way," Natalie said.

He didn't give her a chance to speak and said domineeringly, "Natalie, no matter how others view our marriage, no matter what others say about our relationship, as long as I don't let go, you won't be able to leave me!"

Natalie's heart trembled for a moment.

This dominance and control momentarily made her feel suffocated, but soon other complex emotions drowned it out.

In front of his cousin, he defended her; he even said he would make Abby her assistant.

Don’t these things show... his concern?

Oliver's character was somewhat peculiar. Did these actions already indicate that she wasn't just a passing fancy to him, that it wasn't solely because she was his nominal wife, but rather because he genuinely cared?

"I don't." Natalie returned to their previous topic. Unable to resist the urge, she leaned in and kissed the corner of his lips, earnestly saying, "I don't want to divorce you, Oliver. The words I said earlier weren't a lie, they were my promise." At that moment, she realized what she had done, she unconsciously averted her gaze in embarrassment.

Oliver, however, swept away the melancholic atmosphere, and his lips grinned. "Kiss me once more, and I'll believe you."

Natalie struggled to get out of his grasp. Just as she stood up, a force from behind pushed her forward, making her spin. Oliver then lifted her waist and placed her on the office desk.

Her buttocks felt something underneath, and when she lowered her head, she saw that she was sitting on top of a document, instantly exacerbating her sense of shame.

"Put me down!" Natalie said.

Oliver cupped her face and kissed her.

"Oliver! I'm sitting on top of your company's proposal!" Natalie anxiously squirmed.

"Darling, your ears are turning red." Oliver pecked her with another kiss.

A document for proposal was just a document, but Oliver didn't care at this moment.

"Oliver, find another place, you..." Natalie couldn't understand why this man, who usually appeared cold and restrained, would have such indecent and unrestrained moments!

Countless people were fooled by his facade.

Deception!

"Darling!" Natalie pulled out her trump card.

Sure enough, Oliver's movements momentarily halted.

However, the intensity of the emotions in his eyes grew stronger.

"Bathroom?" Oliver asked while kissing her, his tone sounding more like a question. But his body took the lead, carrying Natalie toward the master bedroom.

"Huh? Ah!" Natalie was startled.

Because he was carrying her like one would carry a child and she was already tall, she now appeared even taller. Frightened, she quickly hunched over and held onto his neck.

A servant happened to pass by in the corridor and quickly bowed their head, waiting for Natalie and Oliver to walk ahead.

Natalie covered her face. How embarrassing!

The bathroom was just the beginning. There was also the sofa, the wardrobe, and the bed.

Natalie couldn't understand why Oliver, who usually had so much work, still had energy left for this! And wasn't his physical endurance just a bit too good?

In late November, following a cold snap, the temperature in Paykston plummeted abruptly.

Throughout the course of the day, Liam received a phone call. Upon Oliver’s return in the evening, Liam informed him, “Sir, Mr. Windsor’s 63rd birthday banquet is scheduled for the day after tomorrow. Do you want to attend?”

Liam was brought into the Windsor family by Oliver’s mother. He later followed Oliver when he left the Windsor family. As a result, he didn’t have much fondness for Henry, and referred to him as “Mr. Windsor” rather than “your father.”

Oliver was originally going to say “no,” but he changed his mind and said, “Yes.”

Natalie was surprised.

Contrary to expectations, Oliver, who usually held disdain and often avoided Henry due to their strained relationship, surprisingly expressed a desire to attend his birthday banquet

“Would you like me to prepare a birthday gift?” Natalie asked after considering it.

As a daughter-in-law, she should prepare a gift. However, Oliver’s association with Henry was distinct, and Natalie shared a similar sentiment of disapproval towards him.

“I’ll prepare it myself.” Oliver called for Liam and gave him a few instructions regarding the gift.

Liam frowned and hesitated, “Sir, is it really a good idea to do this?”

Oliver’s icy glare swept over.

Liam promptly said, “Yes, I’ll take care of it.”

Henry’s grandson, Adrian, is already twenty-two this year and will turn twenty-three in the coming year. The fact that Henry is only sixty-three suggests his earlier promiscuity, given the age of his adult grandson..

While sixty-three isn’t a milestone birthday, the event is still noteworthy.

In the early morning, Natalie underwent styling with Oliver, and the stylist in charge was still Arvin.

“Mrs. Windsor, it is my honor to serve you!” Arvin said with great delight, showcasing his newly dyed wine-red highlights on his short hair, giving him a particularly amusing – artistic flair.

As Arvin finished speaking, a cold warning glare was immediately casted his way. He promptly zipped his lips and lowered his gaze, pretending to be serious and formal in front of others.

Oliver went outside to answer a phone call.

Arvin immediately exaggerated his expression and complained to Natalie, “Natalie, how can someone as gentle and lovely as you endure someone like Mr. Windsor? He can be quite dictatorial and unreasonable.”

Arvin sighed while doing Natalie’s hair and glanced at her, “Natalie, don’t you think you should give your husband a little more sense of security? He’s like a wolf guarding a rabbit that could be snatched away at any moment. Not only that, but this rabbit is also alive and might run away on its own.”

“No way!” Natalie laughed at Arvin’s teasing. “Before, I was the weaker one in our relationship.”

Arvin didn’t comment and remained silent.

Superficially, it appeared that Oliver held the advantage in his relationship with Natalie. However, upon closer inspection, it was evident that Mr. Windsor was more invested in Natalie. His gaze remained fixated on her. In relationships, the one who cares more is often perceived as the more vulnerable party.
