Chapter 294 Cold War
As soon as Jacob moved his foot, Oliver's attention snapped to him immediately, looking as though Jacob had committed a huge crime. He was unhappy that Jacob had touched Natalie’s stool.
Natalie bit her lip before she finally locked her phone aside and looked at Oliver. She asked, “Do you have something important to discuss with me?”
Natalie’s voice was calm and indifferent, showing no signs that hinted at their marriage. Not only that, but she did not even show any reaction a wife should have after her husband was rumored to have cheated on her.
Oliver could not help but feel increasingly annoyed. Earlier, she had left as soon as class ended; just a moment ago, she ignored him; and now, she spoke to him with such a huge sense of alienation.
As soon as Oliver’s expression turned icy, everyone felt chills running down their spines.
On the contrary, Natalie maintained her composure, seemingly oblivious to his foul mood.
“No, I just came to have a look at the project I invested in,” Oliver said icily before he asked the production team a few questions.
“Oh,” Natalie replied dismissively as she rolled her eyes. However, inwardly, disappointment surged in her heart. As it turned out, he came because of work, not her.
Meanwhile, Charles really wished he could say, “Oliver specifically came here for you! He canceled an international conference call, set aside a proposal, and neglected a mountain load of work just to see you!”
The director found Oliver a comfortable spot to sit. He understood that while Oliver might claim his visit was due to work, the real reason was to see Natalie. Taking this into consideration, he arranged for Oliver to sit at a spot that was neither too close nor too far from Natalie, allowing him to observe her without being obtrusive.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier that Oliver was here?” Jacob whispered fiercely, glaring at Jane.
Jane shrugged and said with a smile, "Why would I tell you? I fully agree with what you said about Oliver. I hope your words can make him reflect.”
Jacob felt like crying. He never wanted to work with Jane ever again!
Natalie remained seated, struggling to distract herself. Alas, Oliver’s presence was too overwhelming, and she could not concentrate at all.
Despite her efforts to ignore it, Natalie could not help but catch her name being mentioned repeatedly by the director as he spoke to Oliver.
Unable to stand it any longer, Natalie excused herself before she left.
As Natalie's figure vanished from view, Oliver’s expression did not change. However, his eyes narrowed imperceptibly.
The director sensed an oppressive and icy aura immediately. He turned to the side and noticed Natalie’s seat was now empty. He asked anxiously, “Where did Natalie go?”
Jane glanced at Oliver with a sly smile, saying, "Natalie stepped out for some fresh air."
‘Fresh air? In such a large venue, why does she need to get fresh air?’
The meaning behind Jane’s words was that Oliver’s presence was making Natalie feel stifled.
Oliver, unnoticed by the others, clenched his fists, his jaw tightening.
Jacob, intimidated by Oliver's chilling look, looked at Jane. Only someone as bold as her would dare to provoke Oliver.
"Mr. Windsor..." the director began, unsure whether to suggest sending someone after Natalie or to continue the pretense of discussing the project.
“Alright, that’s enough,” Oliver interjected. There was no further need for discussion; his interest had waned.
The director fell silent, looking sheepish. He was aware that any further attempts at conversation would be awkward and unwelcome.
Oliver cast a brief glance at Jamie, and Jamie quietly slipped away to search for Natalie.
…
Natalie roamed the campus without a clear destination in mind. Upon arriving at the fashion design building, she saw a lively crowd, buzzing with excitement. She frowned instinctively when she saw one of the women standing in the crowd. She inexplicably disliked the woman.
At the same time, the woman caught sight of Natalie and smiled.
Natalie, not wanting to seem rude, returned the smile and was about to continue on her way when she noticed the woman saying something to the vice dean of the fashion design department.
Immediately after that, the vice dean called out with a smile, motioning her over, “Natalie, over here!”
As Natalie approached, the woman greeted her with a smile, "Hello. Based on your look, you must be a model, right? I really like your style, so I wanted to meet you."
"Hello," Natalie replied, managing a polite smile despite her discomfort. After all, the woman seemed like an important guest of the vice dean; it was only right for her to be polite. The head of the department always praises her,” the vice dean said enthusiastically, “Natalie, this is Susan, a young designer who just recently returned from overseas. She’s already made a name for herself internationally and has shown great potential. Who knows, both of you might have a chance to work together in the future?”
The vice dean, a small elderly man, was dedicated to his work and was unaware of the rumors about Oliver and Susan. He was not even aware that Natalie was Oliver's wife.
‘Susan…’
Natalie was taken aback as her mind raced back to Hailey's comments about her resemblance to Susan. Hailey was not lying.
"Are you okay?" Susan asked with a look of concern before she added, “Do you… know me?”
“No,” Natalie replied and shook her head, regaining her composure with a polite smile.
Susan chuckled. “Although this is our first meeting, I thought we had met before. I was wrong. After all, how could I forget someone as beautiful as you?”

Are you here to teach?” Natalie asked, knowing that despite their similar ages, Susan's overseas education and experience qualified her to lecture at Sense University.
"No, I'm here because a close friend invested in a variety show that’s being filmed on campus, and I decided to join him. It was also a perfect chance to visit the design department," Susan explained shyly, “I’ve known my friend for many years, and we share a deep bond.”
Susan spoke like a young girl talking about her boyfriend.
Natalie’s smile widened slightly, but her gaze carried a hint of frost as she looked at Susan.
