Chapter 796 I Like My Wife just the way she is.

They wanted to compare Nola’s strengths against Natalie's weaknesses.

"What's wrong, Miss Watson? Are you afraid?" the socialite asked.

Nola smiled and said, "You should ask her if she can even play the piano first."

Immediately, there was laughter all around.

"Why should I compare instruments with you?" Natalie said with a smile, "I'm not a musician. Nola, if you want to showcase your talent, I can reluctantly applaud you."

"You!"

Anyone could tell that Natalie was mocking Nola, not treating her like a noble guest but rather like a performing musician. No, Nola was not even on par with a musician. A performing musician would be introduced with prestigious orchestra titles when they came on stage. Nola just wanted to steal the limelight. Since she wanted to steal the limelight, a polite applause from Natalie would suffice. She was not a petty person.

For a moment, the whole room fell silent.

Several people exchanged discreet glances. They all knew that Natalie was not an easy person to bully. Her words were very sharp!

The atmosphere had become somewhat tense. Just as these people were scheming in their hearts, a deep male voice broke the silence.

"Natalie!"

Oliver stood on the second floor, overlooking the crowd downstairs. He looked expressionless as he observed the guests. His aura was powerful, like a judge. Most importantly, the judge did not seem to be in a very good mood.

At this time, Sean came forward respectfully and said, "Mrs. Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. Norton invited you upstairs."

Natalie nodded. Without looking at anyone else, she followed Sean upstairs. At the same time, she began to think about what Isaiah and Maddison wanted from her.

"Isn't Oliver coming with me?"

The stairs going upstairs were on the left side, while the stairs going downstairs were on the right side.

Natalie followed Sean upstairs and saw Oliver coming down on the other side.

"Mr. Windsor won't be joining you," Sean replied.

"What about Lilian? Is she with Isaiah and Maddison?" Natalie asked, feeling a little nervous.

"Yes, she is," Sean said, seeming to see through Natalie's thoughts, before he added, "She's being scolded inside."

Natalie did not know what to say. The situation seemed a little scary.

'Can't Oliver come with me? Forget it. It'd be too impolite.'

The stairs in the castle were very long.

When Oliver reached halfway down the stairs, a servant hurried to his side and recounted everything that had transpired in the hall below.

If the people downstairs had heard the servant’s account, they would realize that every person who had spoken earlier had been carefully noted, and every attitude was clearly remembered.

As soon as the servant finished speaking, Oliver’s expression turned livid. However, the expression vanished in an instant, unnoticed by anyone.

"Oliver, it's nice to see you!"

As Oliver stepped out, members of the Norton family, who had recognized his identity, surrounded him with smiles. To them, Oliver was worth their flattery, even though they were unsure of his identity; only a few recognized him, but they kept this information to themselves. In any case, there was a high chance that he was likely Oliver of RisingKing Group.

Oliver’s gaze skipped past the fawning smiles of the crowd and addressed Nola directly, asking, "Do you like me?"

Back in Paykston, Oliver had not paid much attention to Nola. He thought Nola's methods were clumsy and Natalie could easily deal with her. As such, he completely ignored Nola. However, it seemed like his leniency had caused Nola to see herself as an important figure, harassing Natalie multiple times.

Nola was taken aback. She had not expected Oliver to ask her so directly, especially not as soon as he arrived and in front of so many people.

'Do I have a chance?'

Not only Nola, but others present also wondered the same. In Forinland, people were open and direct, saying whatever came to mind. Now that Natalie was not present, with Oliver’s direct question, many thought he might be interested in Nola.

If Nola could win Oliver's favor, and since Isaiah only had a useless daughter, Lilian, the leadership of the Norton family might eventually pass to John.

"Oliver, you're handsome and talented. It's only natural for me to like you, right?" Nola said as she stared at Oliver eagerly.

Oliver chuckled softly, his disdain and contempt extremely clear.

Everyone was taken aback.

"There are many who like me, but you're the first to be so clueless and foolish."

Oliver's words felt like a slap to Nola.

"Oliver..."

"If I were to like someone solely for their looks, Natalie would be the most beautiful and captivating. What qualifications do you have to compete with her?" Oliver’s eyes shifted from indifference to clear disdain as he looked at Nola.

"Oliver, I'm more than just a pretty face!" Nola defended herself.

"Whether you're more than just a pretty face or not has nothing to do with me and my wife," Oliver said as he thought to himself, 'Even if my wife were just a pretty face, it doesn't matter. I love her just the way she is.'

"Oliver, please calm down. I think you may have misunderstood Nola. Did Natalie say something to you?"

Oliver had not visited the Norton family in a while, but he recognized the voice as that of John’s new wife.

John had always been known for his affairs. It remained unclear whether his first wife had left because she could not tolerate his infidelity or out of fear of contracting a disease, but they had divorced two years ago. The woman now standing before him was the luckiest of John’s numerous mistresses, having secured her position as his wife.

John and Isaiah had never been on good terms. Today, John had deliberately chosen to skip Isaiah's family banquet, sending his wife in his stead merely to annoy Isaiah.

"Oh, you're truly generous. You're actually speaking up for your love rival's niece."

Oliver did not spare the other party's dignity, directly bringing up John's affairs.

The woman’s expression darkened immediately. One of the reasons she could become John's wife was that she was indifferent to his philandering ways. She was not driven by jealousy but by a desire for status and wealth, not John’s love. Therefore, she did not hesitate to speak up for Nola if it meant cementing her own position.

"I have no intention of cheating. Nola, if you aspire to emulate your aunt, you would be wise to find another target."
