Chapter 103: Is Charlotte Elijah's Daughter
Charlotte felt uneasy but couldn't say no in front of Michael.
Oliver glanced at Sophie.
Sophie grabbed Charlotte's hand and said, "Oliver's new car is awesome."
How could Charlotte refuse Sophie?
Once in the car, she told Oliver, "Thanks for the ride tonight."
Oliver adjusted his hair in the rearview mirror and glanced at her. "It's only been a few days, Charlotte, and you're already acting distant?"
Charlotte just smiled faintly.
Oliver's Adam's apple bobbed, and he exhaled lightly before starting the car.
He was unusually quiet during the drive.
Charlotte thought it was because of her situation with Frederick, so she stayed silent too.
She didn't know that when Ethan had cornered her, it was Oliver who had urged Chloe to call Frederick, painting a grim picture of the Russell family. Chloe, being naive, had told Frederick everything.
As a result, the Russell family was safe, and Charlotte was with Frederick now.
Oliver wasn't sure if he regretted it, but he still had feelings for Charlotte. He couldn't stand seeing her uncomfortable.
When they got out of the car, Oliver patted Sophie's head and told Charlotte, "I have a date. You take Sophie to get something to eat. I'll pick her up later."
Charlotte felt relieved.
She still owed Oliver a favor and didn't want things to get awkward.
She held Sophie's hand and said, "Sure, we'll get something nice to eat."
Oliver blew them a kiss and winked. "Ms. Russell, you look beautiful today!"
Charlotte blushed slightly.
As they walked in, Sophie whispered, "Oliver recently got a girlfriend." She gestured to show the girl had a great figure.
Charlotte ruffled her hair, finding her adorable.
Elijah was only performing two shows in Seattle.
The grand theater was packed, and VIP tickets had gone up to $20,000 each. After hearing the live performance, Charlotte thought it was worth it.
She admired Elijah.
There wasn't much chance to talk with him at the last banquet, and it was the same this time. As soon as the concert ended, Elijah was swarmed by reporters asking about his plans and personal life.
When asked about his love life, Elijah suddenly saw Charlotte in the audience.
Charlotte was looking at him with admiration.
Elijah was momentarily stunned.
She looked a lot like Victoria back in the day. Victoria had once looked at him with the same admiration while sitting in his shabby apartment.
Perhaps he was lost in thought for too long, and the reporters caught his gaze. The camera zoomed in on Charlotte. "Mr. Mitchell, did your daughter come all the way from abroad to attend your concert?"
What?
Elijah's daughter?
Charlotte's close-up appeared on the LCD screen, causing a stir because she did resemble Elijah, especially her eyes. Plus, she was in the best VIP seat.
This misunderstanding was unexpected.
Elijah, experienced in the entertainment industry, knew he had to clarify to avoid trouble for Charlotte.
So he invited her on stage.
Holding the microphone, Elijah looked at Charlotte warmly and explained, "This young lady is indeed someone I know well. I would be happy to consider her as a daughter."
He was gentle and elegant, exuding charm.
It was hard for Charlotte not to feel a sense of affection. She also felt a sense of regret, knowing she might never find out who her real father was.
