Chapter 838 Grant, Did You Have a Sexual Relationship With Her?
Nancy refused to make love again.
She pushed Grant away and whispered, "I'm pregnant. We should probably avoid too much intimacy right now."
Grant felt a bit deflated for a moment.
While she meticulously cleaned herself, he took a quick shower and went out to the balcony to smoke.
The thin smoke he exhaled was quickly torn apart by the night breeze. Grant sat in the night wind, thinking about the things he needed to handle. He thought about Jade, about Natalie, and about Nancy.
In the beginning, his relationship with Nancy was actually quite good. She wasn't a compromise; she was his ideal wife—gentle, sensible, and understanding.
After being with her, he indeed had less contact with Jade, but he never properly dealt with Jade because he didn't love Nancy enough.
After this incident, he knew there was almost no chance of rekindling any feelings with Nancy.
An unfaithful husband and a disheartened wife.
What remained was probably just a polite marriage and a relationship they had to maintain for the sake of the child.
Grant could, of course, use his charm to coax Nancy.
But he couldn't be bothered.
Maybe it was because he didn't love her, so he didn't care if the marriage got worse.
Nancy came out of the bathroom.
She was in a bad mood and didn't want to go downstairs to eat. She asked the maid to bring the food upstairs. Grant put out his cigarette and ate with her.
It was supposed to be their wedding night, but they sat in silence.
After a hasty meal, they went to bed. Lying on the same bed, they didn't even exchange the usual words of concern between a couple.
Grant lay there, unable to sleep, tossing and turning several times.
In the darkness, Nancy spoke, "Tomorrow, I'll cooperate with your PR. Go to sleep, you're keeping me and the baby awake!"
Grant turned to look at her.
Nancy had her back to him and didn't speak again, clearly not wanting to continue the conversation.
Grant watched her for a while, feeling bored. He turned over and sat up, saying, "I'll sleep in the guest room."
He didn't turn on the light.
He left their bedroom in the darkness, leaving Nancy behind. It was almost early summer, but their hearts were cold, seemingly unable to get close again.
Early in the morning, Grant woke up.
He got up and leaned against the headboard, his loose robe hanging on him.
Feeling frustrated, Grant smoked a cigarette before heading back to the master bedroom to wash up and change clothes.
As soon as he opened the door, he heard Nancy on the phone, and the voice on the other end, presumably her father Royce Walsh, was quite loud.
"This matter must be addressed by Grant!"
"Have you gone stupid from studying all these years?"
"The marriage is done, and there's a child on the way. Stop thinking about divorce and focus on winning Grant's heart. And make sure he cuts ties with Jade, or else where is the Walsh family's dignity?"
Nancy listened in a daze.
At the door, Grant gently closed it.
She looked up at him, her expression a mix of helplessness and disappointment. Yes, it was because of such a family that she couldn't freely choose her own life.
Grant stared at her for a moment.
He walked over, took the phone from her hand, and spoke to Royce with a respectful tone, "Dad, don't worry, I'll handle this."
"Yes, Nancy has calmed down, and we will face this together as a couple. Yes, the matter you mentioned last time, I'll arrange it soon, you won't have to wait long."
On the other end, Royce said a few more things, and then Grant hung up the phone.
Nancy, being a woman, was naturally sensitive. She asked him, "What did my dad ask you to help with?"
Grant handed the phone back to her.
He looked at her for a long time, then finally said, "Nancy, sometimes knowing too much isn't a good thing. I was wrong to hide the matter with Jade from you, but I never intended to have a relationship with her after marriage."
"As for your father, in this high society, perhaps every man has some stories, maybe even your mother doesn't know, or maybe she knows but chooses not to expose them, because the Walsh family values dignity."
With that, he went into the walk-in closet.
After what happened yesterday, he certainly couldn't expect Nancy to take care of his daily needs.
Grant opened the closet, pulled out the clothes he wanted to wear, but just as he put on his pants, Nancy came in from outside.
Her face was slightly pale.
She closed the door behind her and watched him, asking softly, "What is my dad hiding from me? What did he ask you to help with?"
Grant put on his shirt.
As he buttoned it, he considered for a moment and then told her, "Prepare yourself, Nancy. Your father... actually has an illegitimate son who is 8 years old now. He can't delay enrolling him in school any longer, so he asked me to use my connections to get the child an identity. He needs to give your mother some dignity."
An 8-year-old illegitimate son!
She had a brother, only 8 years old... Nancy couldn't accept such a blow. She found it absurd that her father, a man of such integrity, had a woman and a child outside.
Grant didn't tell her that the woman was two years younger than Nancy.
He had met her, a gentle, obedient girl... always silent and compliant around Royce.
Since then, Royce hadn't hidden it from him and had asked for his help.
Probably because of this leverage, Royce didn't directly confront him at the wedding yesterday but instead pressured Nancy indirectly.
Nancy took a long time to process it.
She held onto the shoe cabinet to keep from falling. She asked Grant, "You knew about this all along, why didn't you tell me?"
Grant answered rationally, "Because telling you wouldn't change the reality! The child is already born and is now 8 years old!"
Nancy stared at him for a long time.
Her voice was very soft, "Because if my dad didn't take care of her, she would threaten to jump off a building and make it into entertainment news! Just like Jade... right?"
"So Grant, you empathized with my dad and helped him with this." Nancy felt nauseous as she spoke.
Her world had been clean for the first half of her life, and suddenly, it had collapsed.
The man she liked had signed such an absurd agreement with his secretary, Jade.
Her father, Royce, turned out to be a hypocrite, spending those so-called business trips with a young woman and even having a child with her!
Grant said softly, "That woman was once his student."
Nancy ran out.
She ran to the bathroom sink, retching violently. She hadn't eaten much and only vomited bile. Her heart was burning, the feeling was unbearable.
She felt disgusted.
Grant came up behind her, and she looked at him in the mirror. He said calmly, "It's best not to tell your mother. She might not know about this."
Nancy's face was pale, her lips trembling... She clung to the sink to keep from collapsing.
Even though her world had fallen apart, she didn't want to fall in front of Grant.
Grant knew what she was thinking. He whispered, "Nancy, I'm not like your father."
Nancy gave a dazed smile.
She murmured, "What's the difference? If there was a difference, why would Jade threaten to jump?"
If he hadn't made any promises or behaved ambiguously, how could a girl have such thoughts about a married man, to the point of threatening to die just to be his lover?
During the days when they signed the agreement, when Grant didn't have another woman to relieve his desires, she couldn't believe that he hadn't touched Jade when they were alone.
Nancy's throat tightened, and she said hoarsely, "Can you say you never touched her? Can you say you never had a sexual relationship with her?"
Grant didn't speak.
Silence sometimes means consent... Yes, there had been something!
Even though he never undressed and made love with Jade, she had served him on occasion... That night, half-drunk and half-awake, he opened his eyes.
Young Jade knelt before him, carefully unzipping his pants.
When Jade held his penis, he couldn't resist. He let her serve him, let her lower her pretty head to please him.
During that period, he was somewhat addicted.
He never brought Jade home; it was always after social events in his car. She knelt on the car's carpet, obediently serving him. Those nights became their unspoken secret.
Every time he thought about ending it, he couldn't resist those pitiful big eyes. What he didn't get from Natalie, he got from Jade...
Until one time after, she begged him to hold her. She said she wanted to truly be his woman.
Grant had considered it, but before he made up his mind, Nancy appeared... After being with Nancy, he almost cut ties with Jade.
Almost...
Later, once after drinking, he still let her serve him in the car. That was around the time Clayton and Natalie got together, before the Fireworks Festival!
After Jade served him, in his daze, he thought he saw Natalie.
That night, the driver parked the car by the river and then left on his own.
Grant pulled Jade up, took off her stockings, and let her wrap her legs around his waist.
He kissed her for a long time.
Jade trembled, crying and saying, "Enough! Please... I can't take it anymore... I want..."
Later, she cried and fussed on him, saying it hurt a lot.
Grant woke up and didn't continue. He vaguely thought it was a dream...
But his body's sensations told him it wasn't a dream. Jade was very obedient, never asking for anything, just wanting to be his lover.
He had thought about sending her to another city, letting her be his lover.
As long as Nancy didn't know.
But in the end, he didn't. He gave Jade a sum of money to end it, but he still let her stay at Granatal Nexus Technologies Group, working by his side...
He thought they were both adults and should be smart about it.
Now, Nancy had smartly guessed their relationship.
Nancy's face was pale, her eyes closed lightly, "Grant, you had a sexual relationship with her, didn't you?"
