Chapter 491 I Want to Be With Her

Andrew sneered, "If you had handled this yourself, I wouldn't have to step in. The Hughes Family is already talking to Chloe."

For once, Gavin didn't argue. He said quietly, "Dad, I'm sorry! I can promise you anything else, but I can't marry Sarah."

Andrew held back his anger and asked, "So what's your plan? You said you'd wait until Molly gets married before you would. What if she never gets married? Are you planning to let the Devereux Family line end with you?"

Gavin replied slowly, "Isn't there still Natalie?"

"Don't even think about involving Natalie. She's too young to take on such responsibilities."

Gavin seemed lost in thought.

Andrew pondered for a moment and then said, "Gavin, it's not that I don't want to agree! But think about it, if Molly is with you, will she only have to face Chloe? There's also the entire Devereux Family and the scrutiny of the world. Sooner or later, the truth will come out. As a man, you might just be teased for being a playboy, but Molly might face criticism because of Celeste's past. Can you protect her then?"

Gavin didn't respond. He had considered all of this; otherwise, he wouldn't have given up so easily after realizing he liked Molly.

He lit a cigarette but didn't smoke it, just let it burn.

Andrew stood up, and Aria quickly draped a coat over him.

Andrew said calmly, "I'll be heading back to Copenhegan with Chloe this afternoon. Nathan's birthday is coming up; make sure you return two days early."

Gavin nodded.

Andrew suddenly got angry again, "Prepare a good gift! Nathan doesn't even know about the disgraceful thing you've done!"

Gavin glanced at him.

Andrew snorted and walked away.

Aria saw him off and then returned. Gavin thoughtfully instructed her, "Prepare a birthday gift for Nathan, with no budget limit. Just make sure it looks prestigious and grand."

Aria understood.

Gavin sat there lost in thought for a while longer.

Aria couldn't help but speak, "If you really like her, why not give it a try? Molly grew up abroad, after all."

She didn't finish, but Gavin understood her meaning—to marry Molly abroad and keep her there.

Gavin smiled faintly, "She might not even want to be with me."

Aria didn't dare say more. In fact, he had thought about it but felt it would be too unfair to Molly.

A few days later, Gavin returned to Copenhegan. That evening, Andrew even invited Nathan and Amanda over for dinner, making it a lively family gathering.

Natalie was already 20 but still the same as when she was a child.

Nathan doted on Natalie, giving her a gift. Natalie happily showed it to Gavin, "Gavin, I bet your gift isn't as good as mine."

Gavin pinched her nose. Natalie hugged his neck and said softly, "Gavin, you're already 26 and still haven't married. I'm worried for you!"

Gavin looked at her, and Natalie stuck out her tongue, not daring to tease him further.

Gavin turned to Nathan, "Nathan, why didn't you bring Molly?"

Nathan laughed, "Molly didn't come alone; she brought Clayton. He loves eating out, and Molly's always tagging along with him!"

Amanda shot him a glare.

Nathan pointed to his chest, "He's even got muscles! You wouldn't believe how ripped he is."

The more he talked, the more inappropriate it got.

Natalie's face turned red, and she hid beside Andrew, eavesdropping.

Amanda smacked her husband, "Eat your food and stop meddling in the kids' business. Working out is good."

Nathan took a sip of wine and chomped down on a big piece of meat.

Gavin didn't touch any alcohol and stayed quiet.

Nathan, drunk, started rambling. After dinner, Amanda decided to take him home. Andrew, concerned, said, "Nathan's had too much to drink! Let the driver take you."

Amanda didn't argue.

At that moment, Gavin grabbed the car keys, "Nathan, Amanda, I'll drive you."

Amanda forced a smile, "It's better to let the driver take us back! Gavin, you just got back; you should rest early."

"It's no trouble," Gavin said calmly. He then turned to Natalie, "Didn't you want to go out?"

Natalie quickly said, "Yes!" She hugged Gavin's arm and rested her head on his shoulder, "Gavin is the best!"

The four of them set off, with Natalie sitting next to Gavin, chattering non-stop. After a while, she complained, "Gavin, you're not saying anything!"

Gavin smiled faintly, "Molly should be home. How about we ask her to join us?"

Natalie didn't dare speak. In their family, Molly was a taboo subject. How could Gavin dare to ask her to join them?

Amanda disagreed. But Nathan cheerfully said, "Molly is always cooped up at home. Besides Clayton, she doesn't have many people to hang out with. She and Natalie would get along well."

Amanda pinched him hard. Nathan yelped in pain.

Gavin's lips curled into a faint, almost gentle smile.

Natalie whispered, "I wonder if Molly will give me a gift!"

The light ahead turned red, and Gavin stopped the car. He patted Natalie's head, "If she doesn't, I'll make it up to you."

Nathan was too drunk to catch the implication, but Amanda got it. What did he mean by making up for Molly's gift? It sounded like something a husband would say!

Amanda felt uneasy. She looked at Gavin through the rearview mirror, unsure of his intentions.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the Green Mansion. Amanda helped Nathan out, and Natalie jumped out and ran inside. She knew Molly but didn't interact much with her.

The villa was warm inside, and Molly was sitting on the sofa reading a book. She wore a dark floral wool dress, her hair neatly combed and draped over her shoulders, looking delicate and pretty.

Seeing Natalie, Molly was quite surprised.

Natalie approached and whispered, "Molly, I want to go out and play. Will you come with me? Gavin is just too boring."

Molly was slightly stunned.

At that moment, the sound of leather shoes echoed from the doorway, and a tall figure entered her sight. It was Gavin!

Molly looked up and stared straight at him.

Since the last incident, they hadn't seen each other for a long time. She never expected to encounter Gavin in her own home.

Gavin nodded towards a coat nearby, "Put it on. I'll bring you back after we go out."

Amanda intervened, "This isn't appropriate!"

Nathan hugged Amanda, "Andrew and Chloe don't mention it, so why do you keep worrying? It's good for the kids to get closer. They might help each other in the future!" After saying that, he slumped over Amanda.

Amanda was furious. She called for a servant while helping Nathan upstairs, then glared at Gavin, "Wait until I come back down."

Gavin didn't give her the chance. He directly took the coat and draped it over Molly, fastening it for her.

Molly shook her head, "I don't want to go out!"

Gavin took her hand and led her outside. Natalie was stunned. Gavin, who usually kept his distance from women, was holding Molly's hand!

Amanda was anxious. She was about to let go of Nathan, but at that critical moment, Nathan vomited all over both of their clothes.

Amanda was so angry she stomped her feet, almost wanting to throw him out into the freezing cold.

Was Nathan doing this on purpose?

Natalie followed them out. Gavin pushed Molly into the car. When she refused to get out, he blocked the car door, "Why don't you want to go out?"

Molly bit her lip, "Are you crazy? There are so many servants at home; they'll all see!"

Gavin's gaze deepened, "I've broken up with Sarah. There won't be a wedding."

Molly turned her head away in discomfort. Whether there was a wedding or not had little to do with her.

She choked up, "Gavin, it's over between us!"

"It's just to have some fun." After saying that, Gavin closed the car door.

He walked around and signaled for Natalie to get in.

Natalie tiptoed into the car and cautiously asked after a while, "Were you two together before?"

Gavin locked the car doors. He slowly fastened his seatbelt and looked at Molly, who remained silent.

He couldn't help but smile and said to Natalie, "Yes, we lived together for three months."

Natalie buried her head in the seat and didn't come out for a long time.

Molly was furious, "Gavin, what are you trying to do?"

Gavin looked at her quietly, his voice slightly hoarse, "I know it's unrealistic to bring you home right now, but at least one person in my family knows I like you, want to be with you, and see you as a sister-in-law."

Natalie hugged her head. If Andrew found out, he'd kill her.

Molly felt even more humiliated. What was this?

Gavin didn't push further. He gently squeezed her hand, "Just to have some fun. I'll bring you back afterward."

Molly lowered her head. After a long silence, she said, "Gavin, do you know I've always wanted a home since I was a child? I finally have one, and you're making me lose my last refuge. Unlike you, if you lose this relationship, at most, you'll be scolded by your parents. The next day, you're still Gavin, the sole heir of the Devereux Family. But what little I have can be taken away at any moment."

Gavin felt a pang of sadness hearing this. He knew everything Molly said was true. Sometimes, fate was just that unfair.

At that moment, Natalie gently shook his arm and whispered, "Gavin, can we talk about this later? If this gets out of hand, Molly will be in a tough spot."

Gavin leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes lightly. "Molly, I miss you."

He finally opened the car door and got out to open her door.

As Molly got out, he held her waist and pressed her against the seat, kissing her passionately. The kiss was especially fiery in the winter; his lips and tongue, carrying the his scent, overwhelmed all her senses. At the end, he wetly kissed her chin, then couldn't help but move to her red lips, gently sucking on them.

Natalie swallowed.

Molly didn't respond, her eyes just wet.

When Gavin let her go, she silently got out of the car and walked back to the villa.

Gavin stood there for a long time, so long that Natalie couldn't help but get out and ask, "Gavin, do you really like her?"

Gavin nodded. He couldn't help but pat Natalie's head, "She's as lovely as you."

Natalie wrinkled her nose, "Not the same! You wouldn't kiss me like that!"

She hugged Gavin's arm and whispered, "But what about Mom? Dad won't agree to you two being together either."

Gavin lit a cigarette. He hadn't fully figured it out yet, but he was sure he wanted to be with Molly. He didn't necessarily want to take her away but wanted to make his intentions clear to Amanda. Of course, he was also testing Molly to see if she still had feelings for him. Hearing about her closeness with Clayton made him jealous.

Natalie saw he wasn't speaking and sighed. She regretted coming out to play, fearing she wouldn't be able to sleep with such a big secret.

Gavin ruffled her hair, "I trust in you."

He finally got back in the car. Natalie slowly followed and sat beside him, still not fully recovered from the shock.

Meanwhile, Molly returned to the villa.

Amanda had settled Nathan and rushed downstairs. Seeing Molly back, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. "They left?"

Molly nodded.

Amanda came over and gently hugged her shoulders, "Why did this happen?"

Molly shook her head, "I don't know! We haven't been in contact recently."

Amanda was sharp. After thinking it over, she understood that Gavin had deliberately appeared in front of her. He was indirectly asking her to cover for him from this point on, so that Nathan and Chloe wouldn't find out his relationship with Molly!

Amanda was both angry and heartbroken for Molly.

Molly had been reading, but now she had no mood for it. So she went upstairs.

Amanda, thinking about what had happened, gathered the servants. She was skilled and managed to ensure no one dared to speak out.

After handling that, Amanda returned to her room.

Nathan was sleeping soundly!

At his age, he still wanted Amanda to hold him. Amanda was so angry she kicked him.

Meanwhile, Gavin brought Natalie back, and Andrew was waiting for him in the yard.
