Chapter 724 Johnny, Are You Crazy? Let Go of Me!
The air was thick with tension.
In the vast room, only their heavy breathing could be heard, but it was devoid of passion, making the atmosphere feel oppressive and stifling.
When had it come to this? Even making love wasn't about desire anymore. For Johnny, it was about proving that Lola still belonged to him, proving they were still together, proving there was still a chance for them.
Lola's words were like ice water, dousing Johnny from head to toe.
The fervor that had driven Johnny moments ago dissipated, but he was unwilling to give up. He kissed her urgently, possessed her urgently, trying to rekindle the passion they once had.
"Lola, I never slept with her."
Johnny held her body, his face buried in her neck, his voice husky and sensual. "Lola, do you remember how happy we used to be?"
Lola couldn't break free.
Her slender wrists were pinned above her head, her body firmly pressed into the bed.
She felt humiliated and disgusted, turning her tear-streaked face into the soft, white pillow. After a moment, under his slow and deliberate torment, she let out a broken sound, "I don't remember!"
"I'll make you remember!"
"Lola... I won't let you forget."
Johnny stopped, just holding her, feeling their shared warmth and heartbeat.
The bedroom was quiet now, and Lola couldn't move. She was forced to endure his actions.
She ended up having sex with Johnny again.
The open window let in a cool breeze, and outside, the sound of Angelina playing on the lawn could be heard. Since the incident, Angelina hadn't laughed so happily in a long time. Now, she was laughing joyfully, accompanied by the barking of Bobby, their dog.
Tears fell from Lola's eyes. She felt it was absurd.
"Why are you crying?"
Johnny licked away her tears, speaking softly and gently, "Angelina is so happy. Lola, let's start over, okay? There won't be any more Shirley... or any other women. I know I wronged you and Angelina. I'm willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to you... I'll be good to you, good to Angelina. Lola, don't shut me out."
Lola didn't respond. The tears he had kissed away fell again.
Johnny gave her a sleeping pill.
Lola was forced to sleep for a few hours. When she woke up and slowly opened her eyes, she saw that it was completely dark outside the floor-to-ceiling window. Unlike the bustling city, from this angle, only sparse lights could be seen.
It was faint and cold.
Downstairs, she could hear Angelina talking, and Johnny too. Angelina was talking a lot. Since the incident, Angelina had been reluctant to speak. She had trouble hearing in one ear, and speaking was more difficult for her, so she didn't want to talk. But the doctor encouraged her to speak more, fearing her speech ability would decline.
Lola listened quietly. She didn't want to get up.
She was thinking...
In the darkness, the bedroom door opened, and a sliver of light came in from outside.
The bed sank as Johnny sat beside her. He didn't turn on the light, gently caressing Lola's face in the dim light, speaking softly, "You're probably wondering when Dad will find you, right? Lola, before Dad finds you, we'll have a third child."
That afternoon, he hadn't finished.
Johnny was still willing to give her time to think.
Lola glared at him coldly, "Johnny, is having kids all you think about? If that's the case, there are plenty of women out there willing to have your children."
"I don't want them. I want to give Angelina and Austin a little brother or sister."
As Johnny spoke, he gently caressed her delicate face, "Lola, I told Angelina that we made up and that we'll live together. You don't want Angelina to know the truth, do you?"
Lola's expression was icy, "You're despicable."
Johnny smiled indifferently, but his smile was tinged with sadness, "Yeah, I'm despicable and shameless. But Lola... I've always loved you. If you give me a chance, we can be like we used to be."
Lola lowered her eyes and smiled faintly, thinking, "Go back to the way things were. How could they ever go back?"
Sometimes, she didn't want to eat because of the time difference, and Johnny didn't force her. When Angelina got tired of playing, he carried her upstairs, ran her a bath, and got her clothes. It was clear that Angelina was quite happy.
Children are always innocent in adult matters.
After Angelina was bathed and smelled fresh, Johnny placed her in Lola's arms. He bent down, looking into her eyes, "She won't get used to it for a few days. After a while, she'll sleep on her own."
Lola didn't respond. She gently stroked Angelina in her arms.
Angelina was tired and quickly fell asleep.
Once Angelina was asleep, Lola looked up, her eyes meeting Johnny's gentle gaze in the dim light. She spoke softly, "Johnny, what's the point of all this now?"
Johnny didn't know.
He only knew that he didn't want to let go. If he let go even a little, Lola would fly away and never come back.
Maybe she would meet someone she liked.
Then he, Johnny, would just be an embarrassing memory in her life, someone she didn't want to remember.
He didn't want that ending, so even if she hated him, he insisted on doing this.
In the morning, when Lola woke up, Johnny and Angelina were no longer in bed.
The morning light streamed through the window, warm and comfortable.
Lola got out of bed, walking barefoot on the pure white wool carpet. She opened the floor-to-ceiling window and was momentarily stunned by the view outside.
Outside the window, a sea of red maples blazed like fire, the same kind that had been planted at her childhood home.
Johnny had planted a whole grove here.
She seemed to understand why he had brought her here. He wanted to evoke her memories, to soften her heart... to win back her affection.
Lola closed her eyes gently.
She heard soft footsteps behind her. Johnny came in from outside, walking straight to her. He wanted to hold her from behind but was always mindful of her feelings. In the end, he restrained himself and said, "Go freshen up and have breakfast. Later, we'll take Angelina for a hearing check."
Before Lola could refuse, Johnny smiled faintly, "Angelina is happily waiting for you downstairs. Lola, you usually dote on her the most. You don't want to disappoint her, do you? Angelina needs a stable environment right now."
Lola turned to look at him, "Johnny, you make me sick."
Johnny smiled lightly. He knew he made her sick.
Lola calmed down.
She looked out at the vast maple forest and asked him softly, "What exactly do you want?"
Johnny couldn't hold back.
He hugged her from behind, his lips brushing her delicate neck, his voice low, "Didn't I say? Let's have a baby."
Lola felt powerless.
In this foreign country, she had no phone, no bank card, nothing!
She was under Johnny's watch 24/7.
Angelina's hearing was still not promising. The foreign experts didn't have a suitable treatment for now.
Everything had to wait.
Because of Angelina, Lola was calm when she spoke to Johnny, but when Angelina wasn't around, she refused to talk to him.
Johnny didn't force her. He thought it would take time for Lola to change her mind.
She always ignored him.
Half a month after arriving in Silverpeak City, Johnny had endured her coldness. At night, when he wanted to hold her or touch her, she would tense up. One night, he couldn't resist and hugged her from behind, kissing her. He knew she was awake but pretending to sleep, waiting for him to give up.
Indeed, when he realized Lola felt nothing, he withdrew, disappointed.
He calmed down for about two minutes, then went to the bathroom, probably to take care of his needs.
She was always so cold, so Johnny tried to please her.
On November 11th, the streets were bustling. Johnny wanted to take Lola out for a change of scenery. At first, Lola refused, sitting on the bedroom sofa reading a foreign literary novel.
Since coming to this villa, she had stayed inside all day, unwilling to go out.
Johnny hugged her from behind, speaking softly, "Don't you want to go out and see? It's lively outside tonight. You haven't smiled much since you got here, Lola... I want to make you happy."
Lola put down the book, speaking calmly, "If you want to make me happy, let me and Angelina go back."
"That's impossible!" Johnny said firmly.
Lola lowered her head to read again, "Then forget it."
Johnny felt disappointed, but he didn't expect Lola to change her mind suddenly. She said, "Let's take Angelina too. She should enjoy it."
Johnny wanted to tell her it was a couples' event, but to please her, he swallowed his words and smiled, "Of course, we'll take Angelina."
He finished speaking, his gaze deep as he looked at her.
Lola knew what he wanted and what he was waiting for. She suppressed her disgust and kissed his lips lightly, "I'll change my clothes."
Johnny continued to stare at her.
Lola moved slightly, "I'll go change..."
Before she could finish, he kissed her, a kiss filled with lust. Johnny hadn't kissed her like this in a long time, very passionately. His body was burning hot.
Lola instinctively wanted to push him away, but in the end, she slightly parted her lips.
Letting him in.
The kiss lasted a long time. Later, he lifted her, placing her on the back of the sofa, kissing her wantonly, as if testing her limits. Her dress fell to her waist, and he enjoyed the sensory pleasure her body brought.
But he didn't take her.
In the end, Johnny held Lola, playing with her, his voice carrying a mature man's unique teasing, "After all these years, your figure hasn't changed. Still so enticing."
Lola leaned against his shoulder, their faces hidden from each other.
Her expression was cold, but her voice was soft, "Didn't you want to go out? I'll change my clothes."
Johnny laughed softly.
He let her go, looking into her eyes. Lola's expression was calm and serene, not overly enthusiastic but not cold either.
Johnny couldn't help but think, "She's finally softening a bit."
Johnny's long fingers gently helped her pull up her dress, "I'll wait for you downstairs."
Lola smiled faintly.
She watched Johnny leave, the ivory door closing softly, the light dimming.
She slowly got up and walked into the dressing room.
Johnny must have prepared in advance. There were many of her clothes here, for all seasons... even jewelry, all thoughtfully arranged.
Lola's fingers brushed over the items, smiling lightly.
She chose a thin wool suit, black stockings, and high heels, her hair styled elegantly. She looked noble and graceful.
Among the jewelry, she picked a set of pearls, earrings, and a ring.
As she applied makeup in the mirror, she thought, tonight she might be able to leave here with Angelina!
In the mirror, another figure appeared. It was Johnny!
Perhaps the earlier kiss had left him wanting more, making him want to be close to her all the time. He reached out, hugging her shoulder, looking into the mirror with her, "You rarely dressed like this before."
Lola smiled faintly, "You don't like it?"
Johnny looked down, seeing the white undergarment beneath her suit, very sexy.
His voice was excited, "I had Felicity prepare the clothes. I didn't know... it would be like this. I regret it. We shouldn't go out."
He could almost imagine what it would be like to take off Lola's coat.
Lola wrapped her arm around his neck, "Angelina would love to go out."
In the mirror, Johnny stared into her eyes. After a moment, he smiled lightly, "Yes, she's been looking forward to it."
