Chapter 551 Johnny, We Ended A Long Time Ago!

Gavin's words made Molly feel a bit better.

She asked, still worried, "What about her and Johnny?"

Gavin shrugged. "No way that's happening."

Molly wanted to ask more but held back, heading home with her mind racing. Luckily, the kids kept her busy enough to not dwell on it too much.

Johnny took the photo and got a special crystal frame for it, placing it on his bedside table. He looked at it every morning and night, unable to put it down. His daughter was such a cutie, just a bit on the skinny side.

Was it because she didn't eat well when she was younger?

He couldn't help but worry and dialed the number he hadn't called in three years. As expected, it still didn't go through.

Johnny's face stayed blank.

His hand slowly lowered, just like every other time in the past three years.

He gently stroked the photo of the child, and the longing made him almost resent Lola.

Just then, his phone rang. It was his secretary.

The secretary's voice was excited. "Sir, Miss Hawkins has a new flight scheduled for next week, from Novaria to Syeattel."

Johnny stayed silent and still.

The secretary on the other end got a bit nervous.

After a long pause, he finally said, his voice hoarse, "Got it."

It took him half an hour after the call ended to snap out of it.

Lola was really coming back.

Not just Lola, but their daughter Angelina too. Johnny couldn't wait to start picking out gifts for Angelina. A little girl over two years old would surely love cute animals.

Should he get her a kitten or a puppy?

Johnny did a lot of research online and asked several female coworkers with kids. In the end, he picked out a 2-month-old spotted dog and named it Bobby. It was the perfect gift for Angelina.

He also thought a villa would be better for a kid, where she could play with the puppy on the lawn. The thought of that scene kept Johnny awake for days.

A week later, at Syeattel International Airport, Lola arrived on a regular flight instead of a private jet. After getting off the plane, Angelina immediately said she needed to use the restroom, so Lola took her there.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Angelina could already use the toilet by herself, and Lola waited outside.

After a bit, Angelina came out with her pants pulled up.

She was too short to reach the sink.

Lola picked her up and patiently washed her little hands, teaching her how to do it herself. And Angelina was a quick learner.

Lola smiled gently and kissed Angelina on the forehead. "You're such a good girl!"

Angelina giggled.

Lola looked up, about to put Angelina down, but her gaze froze on the mirror.

It was Johnny, in a suit, looking like he had just come from the office. Thinner, but still with that mature charm, he stared at her through the mirror.

Lola didn't pretend not to know him and smiled faintly. "What a coincidence!"

After saying that, she lowered her eyes, avoiding his gaze.

Johnny spoke after a pause, his voice incredibly hoarse, "Not a coincidence! I came specifically to pick you up!"

His gaze fell on Angelina.

Angelina stared at him timidly, her little face slightly tense, clearly not recognizing him.

Lola gently hugged Angelina's shoulder and said softly, "Call him Uncle Johnny!"

"Uncle Johnny!" Angelina called out obediently.

Johnny's face turned slightly pale.

Lola had Angelina call him Uncle Johnny!

They had misunderstandings, but she had left for three years. Did she not even acknowledge that the child was his?

But they couldn't argue in front of Angelina. He suppressed his emotions and responded, then said softly, "The car is outside; let's go!"

Lola didn't move, gently pressing Angelina's shoulder.

Johnny had taken a few steps when he noticed no one was following. He turned around.

Lola looked at him and said softly, "I won't go with you!"

He pressed his thin lips together, looking a bit more stern than before.

Lola's face was calm. "Johnny, you didn't need to come to pick me up. We ended a long time ago!"

Johnny suppressed his emotions. "Lola, do you know what you're saying?"

Clearly, Lola didn't want to argue with him in front of Angelina.

She was about to refuse politely when a slender figure approached, asking gently, "Why did it take so long? The driver is already waiting outside!"

Darren spoke and then noticed Johnny.

He paused slightly, then smiled faintly. "Mr. Flores!"

Darren wasn't flustered, as if he had just run into an old acquaintance. But for Johnny, it was quite a shock.

Had Darren always been by Lola's side?

For the three years he had been searching, had Darren replaced him as Lola's lover?

He didn't want to think about it, but Darren skillfully picked up Angelina with one arm, gently supporting her with one hand. Angelina obediently lay on his shoulder, her whole body relaxed and soft.

Darren kissed her on the head.

Angelina laughed happily. "Bad Daddy!"

Johnny's eyes almost burst. He stared at Lola. "You and him."

Darren didn't say a word. He just looked at Lola, and she said calmly, "For the past three years, I've been with him."

Johnny suddenly took a step back. His lower back hit the sink, causing a sharp pain, but he forced a smile. "I don't believe you're with him, Lola. Didn't you love me? How could you suddenly be with him?"

Lola asked Darren to take Angelina and leave first.

Angelina looked at them in confusion.

Once they left, Lola lowered her eyes and said calmly, "Who I'm with has nothing to do with you! Please don't disturb my life anymore!"

Johnny still stared at her.

Lola said very calmly, "I don't want Darren to misunderstand! We have a very good relationship!"

Johnny looked at her, and Lola didn't expect him to say anything. As she brushed past him to leave, Johnny suddenly grabbed her wrist.

He lowered his posture, his voice hoarse. "Lola, I waited for you for three years! You're not even going to give me a chance to explain?"

At this moment, he couldn't care less about Darren. He desperately wanted her back.

Lola looked at where he was touching her and smiled lightly. "No need to explain! You gross me out."

With that, she shook off his hand and left.

Johnny stared at her back, his Adam's apple moving up and down, but in the end, he didn't chase after her.

The secretary came over, still looking excited. "Mr. Flores, the puppy is in the car. Angelina will definitely be happy to see it!"

But Johnny turned around. He leaned on the sink, his voice deep. "Take it back to the villa! I need some time alone."

The secretary was stunned.

What was going on? But she didn't dare to ask.

When the restroom was empty, Johnny slowly raised his eyes. He looked at himself in the mirror, his face dark and gloomy.

He used to not believe in genetics, but now he did. Maybe, deep down, he was just like his father, which was why he ended up with a broken family.

At this moment, his phone rang in his pocket. He took it out and saw it was Travis.

Travis's voice was tired but joyful. "I heard you went to pick her up today! Did she reject you? Is Darren with her? I'm really sorry, Johnny. I should have told you this earlier!"

Johnny lightly twisted his neck and sneered. "Travis, it seems your family's bankruptcy didn't stop your delusions."

Travis also laughed. "I gave up on those delusions a long time ago! She never loved me, so I didn't really lose anything. But Johnny, you once had her, but you still lost her. Between the two of us, who is worse off?"

With that, he let out an eerie laugh.

Johnny hung up the phone directly.

He made a call, instructing someone to keep dealing with Travis. When Travis couldn't even afford to eat, would he still be able to flaunt and mock him?

He had sent Melissa to Travis.

A bottle of strong liquor had brought them together.

Now Melissa was with Travis, living off his earnings, and both of them were living miserably.

Kingsley said he was too crazy. Johnny admitted that Lola's departure drove him insane. But she wouldn't even look back at him.

Now she was back, but she didn't acknowledge him. She was with Darren and had Angelina call Darren "Daddy."

With a crash, everything on the sink was swept to the floor.

The cleaner heard something fall and came over. Johnny wrote a check, threw it on the counter, and said in a low voice, "Compensation."

After he left, the cleaner picked up the check and saw it was for one million dollars. The cleaner cursed, "Rich people are all crazy!"

In the black car, Angelina sat on Darren's lap, her little head tilted as she slept. Darren gently brushed her soft hair and looked at Lola.

Since getting in the car, Lola hadn't said a word.

He smiled faintly. "Seeing Johnny again, do you still have feelings?"

Lola turned to him, then shook her head after a moment. "How could I?"

Darren looked down at Angelina's sleeping face, kissed her, and lowered his voice even more. "I'm afraid you'll waver!"

"I won't!" Lola's gaze also fell on Angelina's face, and she said firmly, "If it weren't for Angelina, I wouldn't see him again!"

Darren didn't say anything more. He took a small blanket and covered Angelina, gently patting her.

Angelina obediently leaned against him.

Darren felt both heartache and regret. If he could live longer, he could watch Angelina grow up, become a beautiful young lady, and even get married. He also wanted to see Lola get married. Anyone but Johnny, because he didn't deserve her.

Lola remained quiet, and as they neared the villa, her phone buzzed with a message: [I won't give up!]

She looked at it for two seconds, then put her phone away. Darren asked softly, "Was it from him?"

Lola nodded.

Darren thought about what she had to do, his heart tightening, but looking at Angelina in his arms, he didn't persuade her further.

An hour and a half later, the car drove into a villa.

This villa was in the same neighborhood as the one Johnny had prepared, and as the two cars entered the gate one after the other, they happened to meet.

Johnny's car slowly stopped in front of Lola's car. He got out, closed the door, and walked over.

Lola rolled down the window. "Mr. Flores, you're blocking my way!"
