Chapter 475 We're Really Getting Married!
Chloe rolled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up.
Andrew got up too, shook off the sheets, and started making the bed. His eyes landed on the sheets.
He noticed a dark stain spreading out and felt his face heat up a bit. He yanked off the sheets and grabbed a fresh set from the closet.
Just as he finished, the bedroom door creaked open. Natalie walked in, silent, and hugged her dad's leg.
Andrew glanced down. Natalie clung to him, her eyes all watery.
Andrew's heart melted instantly. He scooped Natalie up with one hand, sat on the edge of the bed, and comforted her.
Natalie still remembered what happened yesterday. She was worried Andrew wouldn't like her because she smelled bad, so she held on tight to him.
When Chloe finished freshening up and came over, she smiled and asked, "What's wrong, Natalie?"
Natalie buried her little head deeper into Andrew's embrace.
Andrew gently patted her head and chuckled, "She's probably a bit embarrassed!"
Chloe came over and kissed Natalie. "You smell good!"
Natalie buried her head even deeper, only peeking at Chloe with her eyes.
Chloe softly asked if she was in pain.
Natalie obediently shook her head.
Chloe looked up and met Andrew's gaze.
His eyes were slightly dark, shining with an unknown light, making her heart flutter.
Even last night's sweaty, intimate moments weren't as moving as this.
In the quiet of the morning, with Natalie nestled in Andrew's arms, Andrew and Chloe could still hold each other and love each other.
After who knows how long, Natalie wrinkled her face and softly whimpered, "I need to poop again!"
Andrew couldn't help but laugh. He kissed Natalie on the head, "I'll take you!"
Natalie reluctantly forgave him.
After Natalie finished washing up, Andrew dressed her in a light woolen floral dress, thick knee-high socks, and soft leather shoes.
He patted her little butt, "Go find Gavin."
Natalie wobbled away.
After a while, the sound of Gavin making milk came from outside.
Andrew finished up, a thin layer of sweat on his back, and took off his shirt to take a shower.
Chloe had already changed her clothes.
She sat at the vanity, picking out the jewelry she would wear today.
Chloe fastened her earrings and said, "She's young but understands a lot. She even feels embarrassed about it."
She couldn't help but laugh as she spoke.
Andrew looked at her delicate appearance, his heart slightly stirred.
He walked over and hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her thin shoulder, and whispered, "Your waist is so slim!"
Chloe's face flushed slightly. She softly said, "Aren't we going to my parents' house? Go take a shower!"
Andrew kissed her cheek, "Alright."
He let her go cheerfully and went to shower. A quarter of an hour later, he looked handsome again.
Chloe took the initiative to kiss his chin and softly said, "Be patient with whatever Patrick says later; he really loves Natalie."
Andrew said nothing, gently stroking her red lips.
An hour later, a black Range Rover pulled up at the Hawkins Mansion.
As soon as the car stopped, Patrick swung the door open with a stern face and scooped Natalie out.
Holding her close, Patrick checked her over, making sure everything was alright. After confirming she was fine, he grumbled, "You two only care about yourselves and don't look after the kid! If you want a romantic birthday, book a hotel or go abroad. Just don't neglect her! Send her back when she gets in the way!"
Andrew stepped out of the car, looking graceful, tall, and handsome.
He humbly said, "You're right, Dad! It's my fault."
Then he handed a cigarette to Patrick.
Patrick glared at him, "I'm holding Natalie; how can I smoke!"
Andrew smiled awkwardly.
Patrick muttered, "I don't know how he can be a dad! Natalie, if your dad doesn't love you, I do! I love you!"
With that, he carried Natalie away.
Chloe and Gavin got out of the car.
Chloe laughed, "It's not just you; even I don't get much attention now. Patrick only has eyes for the kids; he loves them all!"
Andrew smiled faintly. He didn't mind. If Patrick didn't consider him family, he wouldn't have invited them over today.
As he was thinking, Gavin slowly said, "Dad, Grandpa kind of dislikes you!"
Gavin said this and then ran off.
Andrew held Chloe's hand and followed behind.
The house was bustling with people, and Chloe felt a bit embarrassed, softly saying, "The servants will see us!"
Andrew chuckled, "Just holding hands makes you shy?"
Chloe said nothing, her slender fingers held in his dry palm.
They reached the living room.
Patrick was holding Natalie, with a large jewelry box in front of him. It was full of big diamonds!
Natalie was playing with them.
Chloe couldn't help but say, "Dad, Natalie is still so young, why give her these?"
Patrick's face darkened. He sneered, "It's okay to just watch and play. You have even fed her with these, haven't you? Luckily, it's small; otherwise, what if it scratched her delicate intestines?"
Chloe thought he spoiled the child too much.
Andrew held back a laugh, "Dad, when we get married, I'll buy an even bigger one!"
Patrick glared at him.
At this moment, Laura came over and pointed to the pile of gifts in the corner, "These are for you. Adeline came by early and brought a lot of things."
Chloe softly said, "I don't care about these things!"
Patrick snorted, "If you dare say you don't care about Andrew, then I'll think you have some backbone!"
Chloe's eyes reddened. She softly said sorry.
Laura glared at Patrick, "What nonsense are you talking! I think they're getting along well. You were fine last night; why are you like this today?"
Patrick still had a stern face, "Last night, I didn't know they didn't take good care of Natalie! Since Natalie was born, she hasn't suffered like this."
Andrew wiped Chloe's tears and pulled her behind him.
He very patiently apologized to Patrick for not taking good care of Natalie.
After a long time of coaxing, Patrick finally showed a better mood and sheepishly asked, "So, when's the wedding?"
Originally, Andrew and Chloe planned for next year.
But lately, their relationship had heated up, and they couldn't wait any longer.
Andrew thought for a moment, "How about December?"
Patrick got serious and had Laura check the dates, finally settling on December 28th.
After discussing it, Patrick looked at Chloe's slightly red eyes. He called her over.
Chloe moved closer, and Patrick touched her long hair, saying helplessly, "You were spoiled at home, but in marriage, you need to be considerate of each other."
Chloe's lips trembled slightly. "Dad, I know!"
Patrick was ultimately reluctant. Chloe was the only daughter of him and his wife. Although he now doted on the grandchildren, Chloe was different! Just like how he saw Andrew doting on Natalie now, it reminded him of how he used to dote on Chloe, staying up all night when she was sick, and worrying about her during her teenage years, afraid some boy would deceive her.
Now, she was finally getting married!
Chloe hugged Patrick, gently acting spoiled.
Patrick wiped his tears and said, "Getting married is fine, but you must come back often for meals!"
"We will!" Andrew promised.
But they all knew that Andrew was the heir to the Devereux family, and he would eventually have to return to Copenhegan.
In a year or two, once things were stable here, he would take Chloe and the kids back to Copenhagen to settle down. At that time, if Patrick wanted to see Chloe, Gavin, or Natalie, he would have to take a private jet.
Just thinking about it made him sad!
Patrick couldn't take it and got up, waving his hand, "I need a smoke!"
Laura knew he was about to cry.
Andrew saw through it but said nothing.
Only Chloe shouted, "Dad, are you going to cry secretly?"
Patrick took out a cigarette, pointed at her, and said to Andrew, "You better marry her soon! She's a handful for me."
Andrew gently hugged Chloe. He knew Chloe was doing it on purpose, just to cheer Patrick up.
He didn't say anything because this secret was known only to him, making his heart feel soft. Everyone else thought she hadn't grown up, but in his heart, she was already a mature woman.
In the afternoon, Frederick came by, but Charlotte didn't come.
The men discussed the wedding, and Chloe, as the bride, had no say at all.
She didn't mind and went to play with the beautiful diamonds.
The sun was shining, and Natalie ran over, snuggling next to Chloe, looking at the pretty stones.
Chloe picked a diamond, squatted down, and said to Natalie, "When you grow up, you can wear this gem."
Natalie looked up, half understanding.
Chloe gently kissed her cheek, holding her hand to walk in the garden. Gavin followed, accompanying Chloe. After a while, he suddenly said, "I want to stay in Syeattel to finish high school!"
Chloe was surprised!
Gavin repeated it.
Chloe smiled faintly, patting his little head, "Talk to your dad about it. If he agrees, I have no objections!"
Gavin nodded. He was a very mature child with his own ideas, and Chloe didn't oppose him.
Charlotte had said that among the kids, Gavin was the most like Frederick, Johnny was surprisingly the most like Andrew, and Kingsley had a gentle temperament like Charlotte. Natalie and Sienna were more like Chloe.
Chloe was lost in thought when Andrew and Frederick came out.
The afternoon sun shone on them, both equally handsome. Chloe stood up.
Andrew patted her head, his gaze very gentle.
Frederick called her aside and gave her a few instructions before preparing to leave.
Chloe stopped him, "Where's Charlotte?"
Frederick lit a cigarette, took a long drag, and said with a half-smile, "Taking care of a child!"
But this child wasn't an ordinary child. It was Landon, the child of Matthew.
Landon had a wild personality, even his father couldn't control him, and he only listened to Charlotte.
For the past two years, Landon had been training by Charlotte's side!
But Landon was about to return to the Cooper Group in Bostan to take up a position. Frederick was almost ready to celebrate but was afraid of making Charlotte uncomfortable. But he didn't plan to tell Chloe any of this.
Sure enough, Chloe didn't think much of it and even nodded in agreement, saying, "Frederick, you have quite a few children, and with Johnny, there are four. It's not easy for Charlotte!"
Frederick exhaled smoke.
He smiled lightly, waved his hand, and walked to his car.
The black Maybach quickly drove away.
Chloe was still in a daze when Andrew came over, hugging her shoulders, and asked softly, "What are you thinking about?"
Chloe said, "Frederick is so strange!"
Andrew smiled. In the business world, everyone knew that Frederick rarely socialized. Even if he had dinner with others, he would go home by eight o'clock without Charlotte having to call him. People thought he was just very disciplined. In reality, he kept a close eye on Charlotte!
Andrew was envious. He looked at Chloe, "Are you very trusting of me?"
Chloe's gaze was quite meaningful.
She cleared her throat, "I think you've had your fun already, so your self-control should be stronger than others!"
Andrew pinched her cheek, "Tonight, I'll show you how strong my self-control is!"
Chloe protested, "Aren't you not feeling well?" She felt a bit aggrieved, "Stop clinging to me!"
In the empty garden, Andrew pulled her into his arms, gently touching her face. She blushed.
She loved Andrew—the way he cooked for her, his serious demeanor in front of others, and how he lost control just for her, a side of him that only she ever saw and that completely belonged to her.
Chloe gently hugged his waist and softly said, "Andrew, we're really getting married!"
"Yes! We're getting married!" He leaned in, kissing her gently and cherishingly.
Not far away, Gavin and Natalie watched quietly.
Gavin picked Natalie up, half carrying and half dragging her towards the villa, "The sun is really strong!"
Natalie showed a few pearly white teeth. "Kiss! Daddy kissed."
