Chapter 351 I Don't Have Any Other Woman

Charlotte rolled back to the villa, and it was way past midnight.

The hall was barely lit, and there was Frederick, chilling with a glass of red wine.

Charlotte, dead tired, shrugged off her coat and plopped down next to him.

She murmured, "Frederick, pour me some of that wine."

His blue eyes were like, super intense.

But he finally poured her a glass, watching her down it.

After the wine, Charlotte felt a bit toasty. She leaned back on the couch, closed her eyes, and said, "Now I kinda get why you kept helping Katherine and saving Brenda!"

That kind of sadness was a real bummer.

Charlotte slowly opened her eyes, her gaze all dreamy and halo-like.

She said, "Ethan's gone; you don't have to be mad anymore!"

Then she slowly headed upstairs.

Frederick just sat there, watching her walk up to the second floor and vanish into the dim light.

Charlotte stashed away the necklace.

Maybe when she opened the safe, she'd think of Ethan sometimes.

As she closed the safe door, Frederick was right behind her.

She didn't dodge him, just said softly, "I'm beat tonight."

He didn't say a word. He pressed her against the safe and kissed her.

In the end, he rested his face on her neck and asked, "Are you really sad?"

"A little." Charlotte turned her head slightly, her fingers tracing his handsome face, and said softly, "After he betrayed me, I met you! Frederick, you lost your memory for me. I used to think you were mine and you should get your memory back and come back to me, but now I just want you to be happy! If you like someone else, I don't mind. As long as she's a good girl, I'll support you."

Frederick lightly bit her finger.

He didn't argue, just carried her to the bed. Still silent, he showed his frustration through their closeness.

In the heat of the moment, Charlotte wrapped her arms around his neck.

She called his name in a raspy voice.

Frederick.

Frederick completely took over, and in the end, he whispered in her ear, "Charlotte, do you still love me?"

The hot sweat cooled.

Charlotte lay there, breathing softly, and turned her head to look at the night outside.

She thought of Ethan, thought of his passing. But lying next to her was Frederick, warm and alive. She smiled faintly and said, "Yeah, I love you!"

She meant it.

Love can be as strong as wine, or as gentle as a flowing stream.

In the dim light, Frederick stared at her for a long time.

Finally, he gently pressed his body against hers and whispered, "Charlotte, don't lie to me!"

Charlotte pulled back, not letting him touch her.

Her slender fingers traced his high nose, her red lips slightly parted, her voice all raspy and sexy. "You gonna explain that business card?"

Frederick thought back to that social event.

He lifted Charlotte's body and kissed her. "That night, even the driver saw more than I did! Charlotte, I don't have any other women, and there won't be any young girls!"

Charlotte didn't push it further.

Maybe it was just a boring story.

Charlotte skipped Ethan's funeral.

She only saw in the newspaper that it was a big deal, and the Cooper Group, without a strong leader, soon faded from the business world.

Jenny came by twice about the Cooper Group's accounts.

She was clueless and overwhelmed during the liquidation.

Charlotte met her in the study on the second floor.

Jenny hadn't expected that Charlotte was willing to help. She sat there, sipping coffee, and watched Charlotte.

Charlotte looked down at the account book.

She was even more stunning than years ago.

Watching her, Jenny felt like crying. Her brother didn't leave a kid for the Cooper family when he passed, so she said softly, "Charlotte, I actually looked for Tina! When Ethan died, she cried her heart out, but when I asked her for help, she wouldn't even see me!"

Charlotte couldn't stand hearing this.

She said calmly, "I'm willing to help because of the 2,000 employees of the Cooper Group."

A lot of those people were her dad's colleagues.

Jenny didn't dare to say more.

At that moment, Frederick brought Lola home.

As soon as Lola got back, she rushed into her mom's arms. She was super happy because she got an award today.

Other kids didn't get one, only she did.

Even Johnny praised her.

Charlotte picked up the adorable little girl and kissed her, "Lola, what award did you get?"

Lola raised her little face. "Best Cleaner Award! The teacher said I sweep the floor really well!"

At that moment, Frederick brought Kingsley over.

When he saw Jenny, he was a bit stunned, then nodded politely.

Charlotte had seen enough, closed the book, and handed it to Jenny. "Give it to the company's accountant and have him check it again."

Jenny quickly thanked her.

As she was leaving, she explained to Frederick.

Frederick smiled faintly, didn't say much. After all, Ethan was gone. What was there to hold a grudge about? Holding a grudge against the dead would be too petty.

Charlotte didn't explain.

She picked up Kingsley and played with him for a bit.

Frederick, meanwhile, hung out with Lola.

In the study, the vibe was cozy. He couldn't help but lean over and ask softly, "Charlotte, does this mean we're good now?"

Charlotte gave a faint smile.

The next few days were chill. He managed Vertex Innovations Group, while Charlotte was busy with her movies. The kids were well taken care of. The previous argument seemed to have just faded away!

Every now and then, Charlotte would think of Ethan.

She'd also wake up from nightmares.

One night, she woke up and Frederick wasn't there; he was on a business trip in Lumina.

Charlotte threw on a robe and walked to the window.

She felt a bit cold.

She dialed Frederick's number. He answered, his voice soft and tender, "Charlotte, did you have a nightmare?"

She responded with a hum. She had dreamt of Ethan's car accident.

Frederick's voice dropped a bit. "Do you want me to come back?"

She said no.

There was a long silence on the phone before she asked him, "Are you asleep?"

Frederick looked at the pile of documents on his desk, his voice hoarse. "Not yet! I want to finish the negotiations early and come home."

They chatted for a few more minutes.

Finally, Charlotte hung up first.

She thought that if she were a few years younger, she might have wanted him to come back.

After hanging up, Frederick took out a photo of Charlotte and stared at it for a long time.

Lately, their relationship had gotten a lot better.

Maybe Ethan's death made people reflect.

He knew that even after Ethan's death, Ethan still had a place in Charlotte's heart. He couldn't hold a grudge because it was meaningless.

He slowly got used to this calm relationship, but he wasn't sure how much love Charlotte still had for him.

Adult love was all about weighing the pros and cons.

After weighing them, they both chose stability!

Plus, he had never had any improper thoughts about other women.

Frederick put away his phone and was about to get back to work when there was a light knock on the hotel room door. He thought it was room service and went to open the door.

Outside, it was Elizabeth.

She had heard that Frederick was on a business trip in Lumina. She had come here specifically for work and stayed at the same hotel.

Elizabeth was wearing a silk nightgown, looking very sexy. "Mr. Hawkins, the water heater in my room is broken. Can I use yours?"

Frederick stood at the door.

Even late at night, he was still impeccable.

He was wearing a white shirt and a pair of black trousers, looking mature and handsome.

He spoke coldly, "Miss Grayson, how much do you charge per night? If you don't mind, I have some single subordinates who need a woman!"

Elizabeth was thoroughly humiliated.

She hadn't expected Frederick to be like this.

The last time she saw him, although he was cold, he still had some manners towards her. She thought that by now, with her different status as a famous star, he would look at her differently.

But he didn't.

Elizabeth's lips trembled. "Mr. Hawkins, I don't sell my body!"

Frederick was very indifferent. "Really? Then cover yourself up properly and don't wander around my door in the middle of the night! Also, if any rumors come out tomorrow, you and your little company won't last until the day after!"

After saying that, he slammed the door shut.

Elizabeth couldn't believe that Frederick would be so loyal to his marriage. She didn't believe men didn't cheat! Of course, she wouldn't listen to him. She didn't believe he would be ruthless enough to destroy her completely.

She was going to spread rumors, partly to disgust his wife and partly to increase her own fame.

Early in the morning, Charlotte saw the news, released by Lumina media.

The accompanying photo showed Elizabeth dressed provocatively, standing at the hotel room door. Opposite her, Frederick frowned slightly.

Charlotte looked at the time the photo was taken, which was right after they had finished their phone call last night. It must have been Elizabeth who took the initiative. As for whether he accepted it or not, it was obvious to her..

If Frederick had slept with her, there wouldn't be any rumors.

Frederick would have quietly kept her.

Charlotte put down the newspaper and continued having breakfast with the kids. Lola scooped a big spoonful of food and fed it to Kingsley, coaxing him, "Kingsley, eat more!"

Kingsley ate it.

Lola scooped another big spoonful.

She glanced at the newspaper and whispered, "Mom, is that Dad's lover?"

Charlotte couldn't help but laugh. Where did Lola hear such things?

Lola whispered, "Johnny's dad's lover dresses like that, not properly!"

Charlotte smiled faintly. "This one isn't! Dad didn't want her."

Lola scooped another big spoonful of food.

She thought so. Mom was much prettier, and dad wasn't blind.

In the afternoon, Charlotte took a nap.

As she woke up, she washed up, changed clothes, and was about to take a walk in the backyard when Dana came over. "Charlotte, a Miss Grayson wants to see you!"

Charlotte lowered her eyes and smiled faintly. So eager, huh?
