Chapter 866 Already Had Two Children, Still Has Such a Slim Waist!
Natalie was at a loss for words for a moment.
Clayton took a step forward, his eyes softening as he took in her disheveled appearance. "You're not just gonna walk away from this, are you?"
The atmosphere was too intimate.
Natalie didn't want to get too close to him. She turned around, pretending to wash up. "Walk away from what? It's not like it was your first time!"
It wasn't Clayton's first time, of course.
But he felt that the recent encounter was just as awkward and out of control as his first time. Besides the excitement, there was a subtle discomfort.
After all, every man fears a woman thinking they're not good in bed.
Clayton was no exception.
He moved behind her, resting his chin lightly on her slender shoulder, looking at her face from the side. "So, if it's not my first time, you're not responsible?"
"You were the one who wanted to do it, okay?"
"And you just went along with it?"
His voice softened even more. "If you think I didn't do well, let's find some time for me to show you what I can really do... okay?"
Natalie splashed cold water on her face, wiping away the droplets before looking at him. "You can keep dreaming!"
She still felt a bit uncomfortable.
As she changed clothes, Clayton followed her, gently holding her waist, his voice low. "Put some ointment on, or it'll hurt when you walk later."
Natalie wasn't about to let him apply it. As they struggled, Clayton held her waist and pressed her onto the couch.
Her feminine winter dress was pushed up to her knees, and her stockings were pulled down.
Natalie stopped struggling and looked down at him.
He looked up at her too, their eyes meeting with a deep, meaningful gaze.
After a moment, he asked softly, "How did it tear?"
He didn't think he had used that much force, and it had only been a short while...
Natalie, annoyed, kicked him lightly and muttered, "Aren't you going to put the ointment on? Hurry up!"
Clayton glanced at her again, his gaze still meaningful.
After a moment, he focused on applying the ointment carefully, inside and out. Once it dried, he helped her put on her stockings and pulled down her dress.
Natalie tried to get up, but he held her delicate legs, his voice slightly hoarse. "You've had two kids, and your waist is still so slim!"
Natalie pushed his hand away. "You're a father now, and all you think about is sex."
She got up and walked out. Clayton chuckled, following her to open the door.
As they stepped out, he looked down at her. "It's normal to want sex! Natalie, I'm not an old man."
Marriage naturally involves sex. If he didn't desire her, how could their feelings be so intense that they wanted to reconcile and rebuild their family?
After he spoke, Natalie glanced at him.
Actually, she wasn't really...
They had been in the room for a long time. The servants had knocked on the door, but Clayton was too focused to notice.
Now that they were out, everyone's eyes were meaningful.
They had all experienced it themselves, so how could they not tell?
Natalie's face flushed.
Clayton, being a man, was much more relaxed about it. He casually took out gifts from his room, distributing them to Mercy, Leopold, Haven, and Chance.
Mercy and Leopold received custom toys.
Haven and Chance each got a property deed. Chance got a penthouse in Syeattel, and Haven got a standalone villa.
The Devereux family didn't say much, understanding this was Clayton's sincerity.
Natalie whispered, "These are too expensive! The kids are still young!"
Clayton knew she wanted to refuse but didn't want to make a scene.
He picked up Haven, tidying her curly hair and kissing her. "Making money is for the kids to spend. Sooner or later, it's all the same! I can't take it with me."
"I can't take it with me..." These words touched Natalie, reminding her of when Clayton had his accident.
She felt uneasy, but seeing the kids so happy, she didn't want to spoil the mood.
After breakfast, she excused herself to get some fresh air in the yard. Under the wisteria tree, she noticed new shoots on the old vine.
She stared at them, lost in thought.
"What's on your mind?" Gavin walked over, leaning against the opposite side, looking at Natalie.
Natalie shook her head. "Nothing! Just feeling a bit stifled."
Gavin knew her best. He smiled gently. "Are you thinking about what happened a few years ago? ...Natalie, that's in the past. It was an accident!"
"We don't know if accidents will happen again, but if we stop living because we fear them, humanity would have perished long ago. Nature has faced countless disasters, and we are insignificant in comparison."
Natalie stared at the new shoots, dazed.
Gavin gently patted her head. "Remember when I brought your sister-in-law back? I had hurt her deeply, and she probably hated me, but we still ended up together. Not for any other reason, but because I loved her, and she loved me..."
"Natalie, if you're unsure, ask yourself if you still love him and if you're willing to go through life's ups and downs with him."
Natalie felt vulnerable. "Gavin, I'm not intentionally cold to him. I just can't warm up! Maybe it's because I'm older, or maybe there's still a barrier... I'm trying, but I just can't go back to how it was."
Gavin's gaze deepened. "Then keep being cold to him! A man who truly cares will keep trying! Besides, after what he did, it's only fair you make him wait a bit longer."
He handed her a gift.
Natalie took it.
Gavin smiled lightly. "Be careful not to end up with another kid! We can't have any more additions to the family this year!"
Natalie threw the gift box at him, calling him a bad brother.
Gavin watched her, thinking about their childhood... He missed those days, not because they were better, but because Andrew was young and full of spirit.
After their conversation, the sound of a small car echoed in the yard. The car stopped, and it was the McCall family coming to pick Haven up.
Grant, still new and short-staffed, had only sent a driver, so someone had to go over.
Chloe, worried about Natalie, wanted to go herself, but Clayton knew Natalie didn't want Haven to feel neglected.
He said, "Natalie and I will go! We can take a walk too."
Chloe remained silent.
At that moment, Haven ran over. Clayton bent down to pick her up.
Before getting in the car, he looked at Natalie. "Get in!"
Natalie said softly, "You don't have to go out of your way."
Clayton's gaze was deep. "I want to take Haven. From now on, I'll take her to school, abroad, even when she gets married..."
"Natalie, Haven lives with us, and I should be the one doing these things. If I avoid them, I don't deserve to be called her dad."
He added, "I'm not a jerk! I don't just want to be with you alone! I want you, and that includes Haven and Chance."
Natalie's throat tightened.
