Chapter 559 Now, Let's Go Get Our Marriage Certificate!

Lola could feel the heat radiating from the body behind her.

The hand on her waist was impossible to ignore. They had both been out of action for three years, and last night's escapades just weren't enough.

But Lola wasn't feeling it.

When his hand slid to her waist again, she whispered, "Didn't you have a vasectomy?"

"Just because I had a vasectomy, I can't touch you? Still hung up on Darren?"

He kissed the back of her neck, the blanket barely muffling the hot, moist air.

But then he let go, clearly losing interest.

Lola lay there, silent, trying to ignore the man behind her. After a couple of minutes, he turned away.

Angelina, sleeping soundly, became the barrier between them.

Lola closed her eyes but could still feel his gaze. When she opened them, she saw Johnny's clear, bright eyes staring at her, like he was trying to read her mind.

After a while, he snorted and got out of bed.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. He was probably taking a cold shower or handling things himself.

Lola suddenly felt a wave of frustration.

She turned over, lying flat, thinking about how to get through the days ahead.

Johnny came back, the chill of water clinging to him. Probably worried about waking Angelina, he sat on the sofa for a bit before getting back into bed. Lola couldn't help but say, "Tomorrow, I'll sleep in the guest room with Angelina!"

Johnny didn't respond, so who knew if he agreed or not.

After a while, he pulled her close.

He loved holding and teasing her. She reminded him about the vasectomy and said she didn't want to, but he kept at it until she lost control, then left her hanging, making her uncomfortable.

He was such a jerk.

Lola moved back to her side of the bed, lying on the pillow, and muttered, "Johnny, you bastard!"

Johnny chuckled.

He loved seeing her want him, like it meant she still had feelings for him.

But then he remembered the three years she spent with Darren.

The smile faded. Finally, he said coldly, "Go to sleep!"

Lola didn't want to show weakness. She turned her back to him, ignoring him.

They slept together that night, but their relationship stayed frosty. Johnny was hot and cold with Lola.

Only when he looked at Angelina did he soften completely.

He granted all of Angelina's wishes.

Angelina almost never had to walk; he always carried her. The next morning, the villa was covered with pure wool carpets so Angelina could roll around.

Bobby rolled on it too.

Angelina dragged one of Bobby's little legs, taking him to eat, and Bobby barked.

Johnny let the puppy go, squatted down, and reasoned with Angelina.

Angelina petted Bobby. "Alright! I'll take my medicine first!"

Johnny skillfully took out the medicine bottle, grabbed two or three kinds of pills, a total of six. Angelina usually hated taking them.

Lola always had a hard time getting her to take medicine, and Darren's words didn't help either.

But today, Angelina obediently sat on her little chair.

Johnny broke the pills in half, giving her half a pill with two sips of water. After a small cup of water, the medicine was taken. Then Johnny gave her a plum as a reward.

Angelina ate it happily, and Johnny fed her breakfast he'd made: eggs, milk, and a small sandwich.

Johnny spoiled her, half-squatting to feed her.

Angelina was also obedient.

Lola couldn't help but say, "She can already eat by herself! Kids should be more independent."

The Hawkins Family's kids were all like that. So even though Angelina was sick, she still let her do what she could.

Johnny just said softly, "My daughter doesn't need to be independent! Sienna wasn't independent either, and she turned out just fine. Being pampered and spoiled isn't a bad thing!"

Lola couldn't find the words to argue. More importantly, she didn't want to fight with him. Before getting pregnant, she wanted to keep things peaceful.

Johnny looked at her, and Lola gave a faint smile.

After Angelina was full, she played by herself. Johnny ate a little, then looked at Lola and said slowly, "We both have work, but Angelina needs care."

Lola thought he would suggest sending Angelina to her parents.

But to her surprise, Johnny said, "From now on, I'll take Angelina to the office!"

Lola disagreed. "She'll be bored at the office."

"Then what? Leave her at home with a nanny?" He looked at her quietly. "Are you afraid I'll take our daughter away? Don't worry, I want a child just as much as you do!"

After that, probably in a bad mood, he stopped talking.

She lowered her voice and said, "Johnny, we don't have to be this tired! It's been three years, some things should be let go, we don't have to be tied together."

"Then you could have come back and talked to me properly, instead of choosing to seduce me." Johnny stood up and leaned slightly, his long fingers gently pinching her chin. "It's too late now!"

After he finished, he went upstairs to change clothes.

From casual home wear to a suit and tie, complete with a tie pin, looking very formal.

Just for a minor surgery, did it need to be that formal?

Johnny noticed Lola's scrutinizing gaze from the stairs. He looked down at her and said indifferently, "You should change your clothes too."

Lola thought her outfit was fine.

A white shirt and knee-length skirt were quite professional, and she had a court session in the afternoon.

Johnny sat on the sofa, holding Angelina.

Angelina played with his tie pin, thinking the two diamonds were so pretty, sparkling.

After a while, Johnny said very casually, "The color of your clothes is too light!"

When Lola went upstairs to change, she was a bit annoyed.

But when she opened the master bedroom door, she was slightly stunned to see a set of clothes on the already tidy bed: a soft red woolen long dress paired with a dark thin coat and a box containing a pair of stockings.

Just imagining it felt very charming.

Did Johnny prepare this for her? Why did he prepare such an outfit for her?

Lola didn't understand.

But if she went downstairs to ask now, he definitely wouldn't say, and besides, there was Angelina.

Lola sat on the edge of the bed, her slender fingers gently tracing the fabric, which reminded her of some past events with Johnny.

Actually, they were quite good back then.

If Melissa hadn't appeared in his life, maybe they would have been very happy.

What stood between them wasn't Melissa, but their state of mind.

She didn't know how long she sat there when a knock on the door sounded, Johnny's voice still cold. "Are you ready?"

"Almost ready!" Lola replied, then without going to the dressing room, she stood by the bed and changed her clothes.

The clothes fit well and looked good. Especially the red color matched her restored golden wavy hair, very charming.

The sheer stockings were slowly pulled up.

Putting on high heels, holding the coat in her hand, she had to admit Johnny knew what kind of clothes suited her. Just as she finished changing, the door was pushed open.

In an instant, his eyes brightened, then seemed to dim.

Lola looked at him, feeling they matched quite well.

Was it intentional?

Did this minor surgery need such a sense of ceremony?

Sitting in the car, Lola finally asked softly, "What exactly are you doing?"

Johnny said lightly, "We're going to get a marriage certificate!"
