Chapter 479 He Never Thought About Being with Her for Long
Gavin heard a noise behind him and turned to look at the person on the bed.
She was still asleep.
Her long hair covered half her face, making her look incredibly soft, but it was nothing compared to last night.
On the other end of the phone, Andrew frowned. "Gavin, did you hear what I said?"
Gavin smirked a bit, "Yeah, I heard you! Dad, see you on Saturday!"
After hanging up, he headed to the bathroom to take a shower, but the doorbell rang.
Gavin went to open the door.
It was his secretary, bringing an important document for him to sign. Gavin was only wearing a towel, confidently showing off his toned body.
The secretary tried not to stare at his eight-pack abs and tight waistline.
After signing the document, Aria Scott said softly, "Gavin, the Tudor Group acquisition is at ten this morning!"
She glanced at her watch, "It's already nine."
Gavin dropped the document and headed back to the bedroom to shower and change.
In 20 minutes, he was ready.
Just as he was about to leave, there was movement in the bedroom. A slender, petite figure walked out, about to speak to Gavin, but paused when she saw Aria.
Aria knew this was Gavin's lover, Molly Jackson, a renowned wedding dress designer who had won international awards but kept a low profile. She didn't expect Molly to be involved with Gavin.
Aria smiled, "Molly, hi, I'm Tony's secretary, Aria Scott."
As a personal secretary, she had been asked to call him Tony when she saw Molly.
She didn't know why, though!
But Molly was really beautiful, not in a dazzling way, but in a soft and elegant manner. Especially since she was only wearing a men's black shirt, her slender legs were straight and delicate.
Aria took a few more glances.
Gavin said, annoyed, "Wait for me in the car!"
Aria felt a bit regretful.
After she left and closed the door, Gavin looked at the uneasy young woman and smiled faintly, "Did you like last night's birthday gift?"
Molly blushed.
Gavin was in a hurry, so he walked to the door and got her a pair of shoes. "Don't walk around barefoot anymore! I have to go to an acquisition meeting, but I'll be back tonight."
Molly watched him, nodding slowly after a long time.
She had an accident when she was young and developed aphasia. Even though she was later cured abroad, she still didn't like to talk much. Except for her parents, she kept herself in her own world until "Tony" walked into her life.
They had been dating for a year.
Three months ago, on Valentine's Day, he brought her to this apartment, and she moved in.
"Tony" even helped her move her studio here. She was almost here 24/7. He didn't come over every night; sometimes he worked late and didn't sleep here.
Molly liked him a lot and looked at him reluctantly as he was about to leave. But seeing that look, he lifted her onto a high stool, kissed her, and gently said, "Remember to eat. I'll make you something new tonight."
Molly's small face pressed against his waist, nodding obediently.
Gavin looked down at her.
In fact, Molly was a year older than him, but Nathan and his wife had raised her well. She didn't know how to do housework, only simple chores, and didn't like socializing.
He had never met someone like her. She reminded him of someone! But Gavin couldn't remember who at the moment!
Gavin straightened his suit and left first.
Downstairs, he got into the car, and Aria looked back at him, noticing his hair was a bit messy.
It must have been a passionate kiss!
She couldn't help but say, "Molly is really beautiful! Not what I imagined!"
Gavin picked up the acquisition materials to read.
He asked rather casually, "What did you imagine?"
Aria smiled, "Molly's designs are complex and vintage. I thought she would be a very fashionable and avant-garde woman. I didn't expect her to be so tender, like a little animal, quite endearing."
Gavin just snorted lightly, indicating to his secretary that she was being too talkative!
Aria dropped the topic and started discussing business.
At eleven in the morning, the acquisition of the Tudor Group concluded perfectly. At 26, Gavin became the largest shareholder of the Tudor Group. In the next two years, he planned to restructure the assets and relist the company.
The $12 billion deal was a triumphant achievement for a 26-year-old newcomer in the business world.
In the evening, the Devereux Group held a celebration party, and Gavin naturally attended.
Gavin was young and promising, handsome and vigorous. Countless socialites and movie stars showed their favor towards him, but Gavin had high standards and rarely got involved with them.
Andrew also called specifically to congratulate him.
Gavin smiled slightly.
He discussed the next steps with Andrew, whose methods even Andrew couldn't help but admire, praising him a few times.
Gavin said lightly, "It's just the beginning!"
After hanging up the phone, Aria came over to report, "You've had a busy day; you should go back and rest."
Gavin was indeed tired.
He handed the wine glass to Aria, his long fingers gently tugging at his tie knot, giving it a light pull. "I'm really beat! Let the former execs of the Tudor Group know there's a meeting at nine tomorrow morning," Gavin instructed as he walked.
Downstairs at the hotel, a black Rolls-Royce was parked, and the driver, Zack Smith, was already waiting by the car.
Seeing Gavin approach, he respectfully opened the car door.
Gavin got into the car. Aria bent down to Gavin, "Good night!"
Gavin nodded. He suddenly remembered that he had promised Molly in the morning that he would cook for her tonight, but it was already ten o'clock.
He sniffed the scent of his cologne. Then he took off his suit jacket and tossed it to Aria, "Take this to the dry cleaners for me!"
Aria was slightly stunned.
The driver had already closed the car door, and the black vehicle slowly drove away from the hotel entrance.
After driving for a while, Gavin's calm voice came from the back seat, "Stop at the next intersection and buy a dessert."
Zack, knowing about Molly, smiled, "It must be something Molly likes!"
Gavin didn't respond.
In the luxurious, dimly lit car, he sat quietly, thinking about his relationship with Molly.
They had met by chance abroad. But afterward, it was his calculated pursuit.
He knew everything about Molly, and with his looks and tactics, winning over a young girl was easy.
However, he seemed to have invested too much!
Gavin couldn't help but think of Andrew's call about his engagement to Miss Hughes. They were supposed to meet on Saturday, and she might be a suitable partner.
So, Molly would be someone he had to give up!
He had no intention of keeping a mistress after marriage. Besides, although he felt good being with Molly, he never thought about a long-term relationship. At least initially, he just wanted her to experience the pain of love.
Gavin gently closed his eyes.
He thought, if he withdrew now, Molly would probably spend at least the next year in tears. She was so fragile, always crying when bullied.
Thinking of this, he felt a bit irritated.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the apartment building.
Zack couldn't help but comment, "Gavin, your villa is closer to the company. Why go out of your way?"
Gavin, holding the dessert, glanced at him.
Zack immediately fell silent.
Gavin walked straight into the building, the elevator numbers lighting up one by one. He knew deep down that there was no way he would let her move into the villa. That was where his parents had lived, and he couldn't bring himself to let Molly stay there.
They wouldn't last long, and there was no future!
The door opened, and the house was pitch black.
Gavin turned on the light, put down his things, and walked straight to the workroom.
Sure enough, Molly was there. Only a desk lamp was on.
She was sitting, drawing design sketches in his shirt, with shorts added.
Gavin came in, and she didn't even notice.
Gavin approached, gently touched her leg, and frowned, "Why aren't you wearing more if you're so cold?"
Molly was startled.
Her hand shook, and the sketch went askew. She stared at it for a long time and said, "It's all your fault!"
"My fault!" Gavin hugged her from behind and directly carried her out, walking straight to the living room.
As he walked, he touched her flat stomach.
"Didn't eat breakfast or lunch?" he said, slightly angry.
Molly was afraid he was really angry.
She quickly hugged his neck and softly said, "I did eat breakfast!"
Gavin gave her an angry look.
He wasn't a very patient man, but living with her, he was quite considerate.
He sat her on the sofa and brought over a blanket.
Molly looked at him, "Where's your jacket?"
But he wasn't embarrassed at all. With his eloquence and adaptability, dealing with a slightly introverted girl was easy. A few words and he had smoothed things over.
He went to the kitchen to cook for her.
Molly actually wanted to go back and continue drawing her sketches, but she could see he was a bit angry, so she wrapped herself in the blanket and walked lightly to the kitchen.
Gavin was cooking.
His back, just in a shirt, looked very attractive, and his natural charisma easily made women fall for him.
Molly gently hugged his waist.
She rarely dared to touch his abdomen, softly asking, "Have you eaten?"
Gavin's tone wasn't very good, "I have."
There was a long silence behind him before she softly said, "You said you'd come back earlier."
Gavin paused slightly, then turned to her.
Under the light, his young face was striking.
She liked him very much.
But he had never said he would take her home, nor had he mentioned his family's situation, and she didn't dare to ask!
Gavin stared at her face and asked in a deep voice, "If I didn't come back, would you just stay hungry?"
Molly was taken aback by his sudden harshness.
He had never been like this before!
She looked up at him, tears welling up in her eyes. After a long time, she softly said, "You wouldn't not come back!"
At that moment, Gavin's expression became quite strange.
But she didn't have time to ponder it.
Because he had already grabbed her chin, kissed her hard, and lifted her onto the kitchen counter.
