Chapter 723 Lola, Let's Have a Child!

Under the lamp, the glass of water trembled slightly.

Johnny sat across from Lola, looking at her pale face. After a long pause, he spoke softly, "I've taken care of her. Don't worry, she won't show up in our lives again, and she won't hurt..."

"She won't show up in our lives again."

"She won't hurt Angelina anymore, right?"

Lola's voice was just as soft. "Johnny, where were you earlier? You waited until Angelina got hurt to say you've taken care of her. Tell me, now that you've dealt with her, can Angelina's hearing be restored?"

Her words were filled with suppressed anger.

She hated Shirley deeply, and she also hated Johnny sitting in front of her.

If it weren't for him giving Shirley the chance, how would she have entered their lives and had the opportunity to hurt Angelina?

Lola tilted her head slightly. "Hand her over to me!"

Johnny stood up and half-knelt in front of her. He wanted to touch her but held back, fearing she wouldn't like it. He looked up at her and promised, "Lola, she won't affect us anymore."

He didn't want Lola to see Shirley's condition.

He wished Lola would never know his darker side.

Lola looked down and sneered, "What, you can't bear to let her go? Afraid I'll hurt her?"

Johnny felt a pang in his heart. He finally couldn't resist reaching out, gently brushing Lola's hair from her forehead, and said softly, "It's not that! I'm afraid if you see her, you'll have nightmares."

Lola didn't believe him.

But she also knew Johnny wouldn't easily hand over Shirley.

Lola rejected his touch, rejected his care.

She refused to speak to him anymore, curling up on the bed and holding Angelina carefully in her arms... The main light was off, leaving only a bedside lamp. Johnny stood by the bed and noticed that Lola's posture holding Angelina was the same as in the top-floor safety well.

Suddenly, a suffocating feeling overwhelmed him.

His heart ached unbearably.

In the dim light, Lola's cold voice came, "You can leave now!"

Johnny didn't leave; he slept on the couch.

In the quiet hospital room, only their breathing could be heard, and they both knew the other wasn't asleep... But between them, only hatred and regret remained.

If time could turn back...

At dawn, doctors and nurses came in, giving Lola a full-body check to ensure she was okay.

Ramon also came by.

Angelina liked him very much. Ramon patted her little head and said to Lola, "The director has arranged for several ENT specialists from other hospitals to form a team and see if they can help Angelina."

Angelina clutched a stuffed rabbit, her little face tense.

Lola hugged her. She knew the chances were slim, but she still looked up and said to Ramon, "If there's no solution here, I want to take her abroad... We have to try."

Ramon nodded, "Yes, there's still hope."

After speaking, he squatted down, his long fingers tapping Angelina's pretty nose. Angelina hugged her rabbit tightly.

After Ramon left, the Hawkins Mansion staff brought breakfast and said Frederick and Charlotte had some matters to attend to in the morning and would come by in the afternoon, asking Lola to rest.

Lola had breakfast with Angelina.

In fact, she had narrowly escaped death and was also scared, but she was a mother now... Angelina was even more scared, and she had to soothe Angelina's emotions and get her to cooperate with the treatment.

When the doctors took Angelina away, Lola didn't follow.

She closed the door and saw Johnny cleaning up their leftover breakfast. He hadn't eaten anything himself after staying up all night. So diligent and selfless, wasn't he?

Lola spoke softly, "You should leave. Don't show up in front of me again."

Johnny frowned, "But Angelina needs me, Lola. I know you hate me, but given the current situation..."

"Hand Shirley over to me, and I'll let you stay," Lola interrupted coldly.

Johnny was silent.

At that moment, a nurse came in, holding a blood bag with a smile, "Mrs. Flores, it's time for your transfusion. This rare blood type is all from Mr. Flores. He's donated several bags over the past few days. He really loves you."

Rare blood type... Mrs. Flores... loves her.

Lola looked down and smiled lightly, but she didn't stop the nurse. Instead, she obediently extended her arm for the needle. The thin needle went in, and the red blood flowed into her veins.

The nurse finished and left.

The room returned to silence. Lola stood up from the bed, looking at Johnny, and said softly, "Do you remember what you said to me that night? You said your blood was dirty, but didn't I use it too? Johnny, weren't you always resentful about why my father took you in? Now I'm telling you, I don't want it anymore. I don't want you or your blood!"

Johnny's face turned pale.

Lola stared into his eyes, gently pulling out the transfusion needle. As she did, the blood splattered, forming a thin mist that clouded their eyes.

The blood bag fell to the ground, and blood dripped from the back of Lola's hand.

She said softly, "Johnny, we have no more ties!"

She refused to communicate with him further. She made a call, and the Hawkins family immediately sent bodyguards. Kingsley appeared at the hospital, and Johnny was cast out of her life.

The last thing Lola said was, "I will never forgive you!"

And as for Angelina's ears, the domestic experts had all seen her and were at a loss.

Lola planned to take her abroad for treatment.

Three days later, they were discharged and returned to the Hawkins Mansion.

In the Hawkins Mansion courtyard, the maple tree had been replaced with other greenery. Lola stood quietly, her assistant Nola Webb beside her, reporting on the firm's situation.

Lola was going abroad for at least a month, and many things needed to be arranged.

Finally, Lola asked calmly, "How's the investigation on Shirley going?"

Nola paused, "We've found her! But Ms. Hawkins, do you really want to see her?"

Lola stared at her.

Nola hesitated, then spoke softly, "It cost $2 million to find her. Shirley's current state... is very miserable, Ms. Hawkins. There's really no need to see her."

"I want to go!" Lola said firmly.

An hour later, a black Rolls-Royce drove into an abandoned yard in the suburbs. The car stopped, and the driver and bodyguard opened the door for Lola.

Lola had lost a lot of weight, and the autumn chill made her look even more desolate.

She looked up at the red clouds in the sky, pulled her navy coat tighter, and walked in.

She thought she would see a disheveled woman.

She imagined Johnny would lock her up, driving her mad.

But when Lola saw the twisted, unrecognizable figure of Shirley on the ground, the sight was so shocking and disgusting that she immediately covered her mouth, unable to muster the courage to look again.

It was too disgusting!

Really... too disgusting!

Lola ran out, covering her mouth, and crouched in a corner, vomiting until she felt like she was going to throw up bile. The disgusting scene in the warehouse wouldn't leave her mind.

The twisted, deranged woman and the grotesque man who had violated her.

Lola couldn't help but vomit again.

A tall figure appeared behind her, his shadow cast long by the last rays of the setting sun, blocking her light.

Lola slowly turned around and saw Johnny.

Johnny said, "I told you, she can't affect us anymore."

Lola wiped her lips gently. She was so weak she could barely stand, and her eyes were wet. She wasn't a saint; she felt that no matter how miserable Shirley's fate was, it wouldn't be too much. She had intended to deal with her herself.

But she had never imagined it would be such a disgusting scene.

Lola didn't speak.

She just watched him in the dying light of the sunset. For the first time, she saw the real Johnny.

Johnny knew what she was thinking.

He took a step forward, his voice very soft, "Lola, are you afraid of me? Are you wondering how I could do something so disgusting? Are you thinking that we grew up together, and received the same education as you and Kingsley, so why is my mind so dark?"

Lola didn't move, even as he walked toward her.

She didn't want to back away.

She didn't want Johnny to know that she felt a bit of fear toward him at that moment. Yes, fear. This Johnny was capable of anything.

Johnny gave a desolate smile, "Maybe it's just genetics."

He continued, "Lola, I used to think that if I hadn't gone abroad, maybe I wouldn't have hurt you. I could have given you the simplest happiness a woman could have. But now I think that even if I hadn't gone abroad, I would have done something to hurt you eventually. Maybe it's just genetics, just fate... But it won't happen now."

After everything, even after their divorce, he found he was still unwilling to let go.

He still wanted her.

Even though he had hurt her deeply, even though she hated him to the core... He still wanted her, without reason, without cause, because he was just that despicable.

Lola noticed the strange look in his eyes.

She finally took a step back, "Johnny, what are you trying to do?"

Johnny reached out, gently smoothing her hair. He said, "Of course, I'm taking you and Angelina abroad. I've arranged everything, the expert team is ready, just waiting for us."

Lola suddenly realized something, and she asked in disbelief, "Johnny, you're crazy!"

Johnny gave a bleak smile, "Yes, I am crazy!"

"Because I know, no matter how much I beg you, how much I beg our parents, we can't go back to the way things were... Dad taught me from a young age, if you can't get something, take it!"

His hand slid through Lola's hair, gently holding her.

He pulled her stiff body into his arms, his thin lips brushing against her ear as he whispered, "Dad taught me! Lola, to this day, I'm especially grateful for his teachings."

Lola wanted to slap him, but he caught her hand.

"You need to change that habit, but if you really like hitting, save it for the bed."

Lola's back was against the wall.

She thought Johnny had gone mad, he really had, but why... why?

She knew she couldn't leave.

All around, there were Johnny's people.

In the twilight of the suburbs, the occasional caw of crows... Lola didn't resist much because she didn't want to be knocked out. Johnny had been a national judo champion in high school; she was no match for him.

But she also refused to communicate with him.

He took her to a private plane at the airport. She didn't see Angelina. Johnny said she would see her once they were abroad. He took her phone, placed her in a private lounge, and even tied her wrists with his tie, saying it was just to help her sleep.

After more than ten hours of flight, the plane finally landed. Lola opened her eyes to bright light.

Johnny was holding Angelina, who called out happily when she saw her, "Mommy!" There was no fear on her face, so Lola knew Angelina had been tricked.

She couldn't let Angelina see through it.

And now, the tie on her wrist was long gone. She hugged Angelina, her emotions incredibly complex.

Johnny stood nearby, quietly watching them.

After a while, he said, "If Austin didn't have school, I would have brought him too."

Lola closed her eyes lightly, "Johnny, what exactly do you want?"

His blue eyes were deep, and he didn't answer immediately. Instead, he led them off the plane and into a waiting car. Two hours later, Lola realized they had arrived in Silverpeak City.

The black SUV drove into a massive mansion, the grounds sprawling.

At least twenty servants and bodyguards stood at the entrance.

Lola knew these were all people Johnny had personally selected, loyal only to him.

Abroad, she had no phone, no money, and no acquaintances. It was clear that trying to leave with Angelina would be nearly impossible. Angelina had no idea.

She only knew her parents had brought her for treatment. She saw a large lawn, and on the grass, Bobby was lying there, looking very bored. Angelina cheered, "Bobby!"

She hadn't been this happy in a long time.

Lola stood at the mansion's entrance, quietly watching Angelina. After a moment, she turned her gaze to Johnny, "Now you can tell me, what exactly do you want?"

With just a look, Johnny signaled the servants, who immediately went to accompany Angelina.

Johnny watched Angelina for a while.

Then he suddenly picked up Lola, carrying her straight into the mansion. The mansion was enormous and luxuriously decorated, with spiral staircases and priceless world paintings on the walls, exuding extreme opulence.

Lola's struggles didn't affect him.

Johnny carried her upstairs, through a long, lavish hallway, into the easternmost bedroom. He kicked the door open, revealing a master bedroom of at least 1,000 square feet.

In the center was a large white bed, big enough for at least four people.

Johnny threw her onto the bed.

Before she could get up, Johnny's body was on top of her, his solid male form pinning her down. When she tried to raise her hand, he caught her slender wrist and held it above her head. He inhaled her unique scent and whispered, "Let's have a baby here."

Lola was stunned.

Johnny said they should have a baby.

She began to struggle violently, calling him a madman, her insults growing more severe. But Johnny was unmoved. He whispered in her ear, "Lola, I want to start over with you! Let's have another baby, Angelina, and Austin will be so happy. Don't be afraid, I'll make sure it's safe."

Lola knew he was serious. She cried, "Johnny, you bastard."

He knew he was a bastard.

But he had no other way. He knew her; begging her was useless.

So, Johnny gently unbuttoned her shirt, started to kiss her. He might not even feel pleasure, his voice tinged with pain, "Lola, don't reject me!"

Lola turned her face away, his kisses, his touch.

She felt nothing but disgust.

The image of him embracing and kissing Shirley replayed in her mind. Underneath him, Lola asked in a low voice, "When you were with Shirley, was it like this too?"

Johnny's blood seemed to freeze.
