Chapter 539 When She Had Her First Period, He Carried Her Home

Lola bent down, grabbed the book, and after a moment, glanced towards the study.

Did Johnny want to adopt instead of having kids?

The sound of a phone call drifted from the study; it was Johnny talking to Kyro, his voice a bit raspy.

Lola gently set the book down and decided to take a shower first.

When she got back to the bedroom, it was already 10 PM.

Lola leaned against the headboard, staring off into space, lost in thought.

Johnny walked over, bent down, and kissed her. "Why aren't you sleeping? Waiting up for me?"

Lola gave a faint smile. "I was thinking about a case!"

"Really? I thought you were thinking about me!" Johnny teased, heading into the bathroom. Soon, the sound of running water filled the room. When he came out, he was just wrapped in a towel, smelling fresh and clean.

He lifted the blanket and lay down next to Lola, slipping his hand inside her nightgown while kissing her shoulder. "If you're not sleepy, let's do something else!"

Lola turned over, not pushing him away.

This time, Johnny was really gentle. She held his shoulder, looking at him with watery eyes.

Johnny leaned in to kiss her, his voice husky. "Looking at me like that, it's hard to resist!"

Lola held him and kissed him back. "Johnny, are you hiding something from me?"

"What do you mean?" Maybe he was too happy, his voice was light and hoarse.

Lola lay on his shoulder and couldn't help but bite him. "Do you want to adopt a kid? Are you ready to be a dad? Raising a kid isn't like raising a pet!"

Johnny guessed she had seen the book.

He lowered his head, gently kissing her.

His voice was muffled. "Then let's not have kids! Lola, I'll treat you like my kid, okay?"

Lola softly asked, "Is this how you treat a kid?"

Johnny chuckled lowly, and then they didn't talk about it anymore, barely speaking at all.

The air was thick with a sense of ambiguity, and each breath stirred emotions within.

In the morning, Johnny made breakfast. After eating, they each got into their cars.

Johnny rolled down the window, looking at Lola, without saying a word.

Lola smiled lightly and drove away.

After she left, Johnny took out a cigarette from the pack, lit it, and slowly smoked it before starting his car.

He went straight to the hospital and had surgery.

After half an hour of observation, he left.

Johnny knew the procedure could be reversed, but he felt it wouldn’t be necessary. If Lola desired children, they would adopt. If she didn’t, they would treasure their life together, just the two of them.

But deep down, Johnny longed for family life. His original family was so bleak, and the end was so miserable, but he found warmth with Frederick and Charlotte.

He wanted kids!

Johnny's fingers lightly gripped the steering wheel, staying there alone for a long time.

In the evening, Lola got off work. She always drove herself and never thought of having Johnny pick her up, but she didn't expect to run into him downstairs.

Seeing her, Johnny opened the car door. "Get in!"

Lola, carrying her briefcase, sat beside him, fastening her seatbelt while asking, "Why did you come to pick me up today?"

Johnny looked ahead and grinned. "Is it weird for a boyfriend to pick up his girlfriend? If it is, just think of it as a parent picking up their kid from work!"

Lola stretched her long legs. "How can there be a 28-year-old kid?"

Johnny suddenly turned to look at her.

There was something unreadable in his eyes, and after a long pause, he slowly said, "Actually, sometimes you do seem pretty young!"

Then he mimicked her voice. "Johnny, don't do that! Johnny, stop it."

Even with her thick skin, Lola couldn't handle his teasing. She bit her lip. "Johnny, you're such a rogue!"

His gaze was intense. "Yeah, but only for you!"

Before Lola could respond, he added, "We're eating out tonight!"

Lola was surprised. "What are we having?"

Johnny smiled. "You'll see when we get there!"

He drove her to a small street they used to hang out at in high school, packed with delicious food.

Johnny parked the car. Lola sat there, watching the bustling crowd, feeling nostalgic. "It's been 10 years, and this place is still the same!"

Johnny turned to her. His eyes were a bit misty, and after a moment, he gently kissed her on the head. "Lola, I'm really happy! After all these years, we're still together!"

Lola smiled lightly. "You're not usually this sentimental!"

Then she opened the car door. "Let's go eat!"

Usually, she either had business meals or ate food prepared by the housekeeper at home, so she rarely ate this kind of food. She couldn't help but eat a lot, and on the way back, she sat in the car, rubbing her slightly rounded belly. It was usually flat, but now it was a bit plump.

Lola gently touched it, sighing. "I look like I'm three months pregnant!"

Johnny couldn't help but look at her. There was a certain brightness in his eyes that made her legs weak.

Lola didn't dare to tease him anymore! He was really wild last night!

Johnny drove back to the apartment, and on the way, Lola fell asleep.

There were faint dark circles under her eyes, clearly showing she didn't sleep well last night.

Johnny reached out, gently stroking her brows and eyes, feeling a bit guilty and more complicated emotions. After a long time, Lola woke up, softly asking, "Are we home?"

He gently replied, "Yeah."

Probably just waking up, she was very soft and didn't resist his touch at all.

Later, Johnny leaned in and kissed her.

After the kiss, Lola murmured, "Johnny, you're acting a bit strange today!"

He smiled and unbuckled his seatbelt.

They had been together for a long time and had slept together many times, but never had a moment as gentle and relaxed as this. He carried Lola out of the car.

She was tall but very light. Soft and pliable, holding her felt like being back in their school days.

That evening on campus, 16-year-old Lola had her first period. She naturally understood what it was, but a girl's first time was always shy, and at school, her uniform was stained with blood, which kept coming out.

Lola was a bit scared. She hid under a tree on the playground, waiting for others to leave before going home.

At that time, the Hawkins Family's driver was waiting at the school gate.

Johnny got in the car first and, not seeing Lola, naturally asked, "Jared, where's Lola?"

Jared chuckled. "She called and said to wait a bit longer!"

Johnny frowned. He knew Lola's class had been dismissed, so why hadn't she come yet?

"Jared! I'll go find her!" With that, he opened the car door and walked back to the campus.

It was a summer evening, with the setting sun painting the sky red, cicadas chirping tirelessly in the trees, and lush leaves all around.

Johnny searched the classroom but couldn't find her!

As he crossed the playground, he saw Lola. She was sitting under a tree, her school uniform jacket covering her lower abdomen, with a blade of grass in her mouth.

At that time, her long hair was down, reaching her waist, and she looked stunning. The setting sun cast a glow on her profile. Every strand of her hair was captivating in the sunset, and that scene stunned the young Johnny. He clearly knew how beautiful Lola was and understood why she was always surrounded by boys.

Johnny walked over slowly, his voice slightly hoarse. "Why aren't you going home?"

Lola was startled, turned her head to him, and then blushed. "You go ahead! I'll leave in a bit!"

Johnny had no idea about the girl's situation. He was worried she was sick or maybe in a relationship!

He squatted down and reached out to touch her head.

Lola was startled and overreacted. "Johnny, don't touch me!"

Johnny looked at her. "Are you waiting for someone?"

Lola was menstruating and felt embarrassed to be around him, so she wanted to send him away. But Johnny smelled a faint scent of blood.

He wanted to ask if she was bleeding. But he had taken biology classes and quickly understood.

His gaze shifted down to her lower abdomen.

The atmosphere became a bit awkward; both the 16-year-old boy and girl felt uneasy.

"Don't look!" Lola's face turned even redder.

Johnny, having grown up with her, didn't think much of it and touched her abdomen.

"Is it uncomfortable here?" he asked carefully and seriously.

Lola wanted to push his hand away, but Johnny didn't move it. Instead, he gently rubbed her abdomen. "Does this feel better?"

Lola, blushing, said, "It's making the bleeding worse!"

Johnny suddenly took off his jacket. At 16, he was already tall, and his jacket could be worn as a dress. He wrapped it around her and picked her up.

Lola was startled. She held onto his neck, whispering, "Johnny?"

As it got darker, there were fewer people on campus, but some still noticed them.

Those people looked over. Lola wanted to get down, lightly kicking her long legs, but he held her still. "Don't move! Aren't you bleeding?"

Lola looked at him. She was very close to him, close enough to smell his clean scent, unlike that of an adult man.

Lola liked Johnny, but being carried like this was embarrassing for a young girl!

Two young hearts, beating fast, but neither said a word.

They had grown up together. They even used to sleep together as children. But now it was different; they were both 16. Him carrying her didn't mean the same as it did when they were kids.

Lola's face was very red, and it wasn't until they were in the car that she was put down.

Johnny's school uniform was placed under her.

He sat beside her, holding her and letting her lean on his shoulder, then asked Jared for some water.

Jared, having been through it, knew what was going on.

Lola was embarrassed! She bit her lip. "Johnny, it's all your fault!"

Feeling a bit uncomfortable in her abdomen, she weakly leaned into his arms.

Johnny held her. He brought the water to her lips. "Drink some, at least you won't feel dizzy! Don't throw a tantrum!"

"Who's throwing a tantrum! I'm not a child," Lola retorted defiantly.

Looking at her fresh face, he couldn't help but say, "Starting today, you're not a child anymore!"

After saying that, he immediately shut up.

Lola, angry, bit his shoulder.

Jared, in the front, chuckled, thinking they were a perfect match!

Jared drove the two kids home.

Lola was dirty and shy, refusing to get out of the car.

In the end, Johnny carried her all the way to the third-floor bedroom. After putting her down, his handsome young face was a bit shy. "Do you have any sanitary pads?"

Lola bit her lip. "Why would I have those?"

Johnny looked at her, and after a long while, he said, "I'll ask someone!"

Lola was too embarrassed and wouldn't let him ask.

Finally, Johnny said, "Then I'll go buy some!"

The 16-year-old boy rode his bike and bought several packs.

There were sanitary pads, tampons, all kinds!

At the villa entrance, he ran into Frederick. Frederick stopped his car. "Johnny, what did you buy?"

Johnny's face turned slightly red. "Nothing! Just some daily necessities!"

Frederick didn't suspect anything, nodded lightly, and drove in first. Johnny sneaked in behind and went up to the third floor.

As soon as he entered Lola's bedroom, he heard her crying out in the bathroom. "Johnny, it hurts so much! Why did you take so long!"

Then she came out, holding onto the wall.

She had changed her clothes, now wearing a skirt. He didn't dare to think about what she was wearing underneath and quickly spread the items on the bed. "I bought these; see which one you want to use?"

Lola had never used these things. She looked at each one. Finally, her gaze fell on the tampons. Johnny picked one up. "How do you use this?"

After reading the instructions, his handsome face turned red. "You figure it out yourself!"

Lola took it and read it, her face also turning red, but she pretended to be angry. "How do I use this! Johnny, you bought the wrong thing!"

He couldn't explain, and Lola was anxious.

Frederick pushed the door open. "Johnny, did you buy these for Lola?"

The next second, Frederick's gaze froze.

Lola's bed was covered with tampons, sanitary pads, and even adult diapers!

Frederick cleared his throat. "Quite a variety!"

Then, he gently said to Johnny, "Call Charlotte over!"

Johnny, blushing, left!

Frederick looked at his precious daughter, gently touching her head. "Lola, you're growing up!"

Lola, scared for a long time, finally relaxed. She hugged her dad, softly asking, "Will I bleed to death?"

Frederick laughed. "Probably not! Your mom will come and teach you how to use these! By the way, Jared said Johnny carried you back? He's quite strong."
