Chapter 904 Bruce Confesses: Sienna, I Like You!
Sienna looked at Bruce intently.
She stared at him for a long time before softly saying, "Bruce, I can't keep tiptoeing around my feelings for you anymore. It's driving me crazy, you know?"
She moved away from Bruce and sat beside him.
Sienna quietly gazed out the window at the white clouds, her voice even softer, "Those two years, there were sweet moments, but mostly it was torture. You used to come to that apartment all the time, but then you started coming less. You'd always call me before you came over, saying you were on your way."
"I know you're busy, I know you don't have time for dates."
"But over time, it felt like you only came to me to satisfy your physical needs. What you didn't know was that on the days you called and the days you didn't, I was almost always staying there. But I pretended it wasn't permanent. I didn't dare leave too many clothes there, afraid you'd see my intentions, afraid you'd think I was treating it like home."
"At first, I thought it was your home too. But over time, I realized it was just a place for you to meet women. I don't know how you arranged things before, but later, Freya also went there. Bruce, that was the second time you humiliated me! The place I once considered home, you couldn't wait to take your new fling there just days after starting a new relationship!"
"I didn't take anything from there except my documents."
Sienna's eyes were wet as she spoke.
After all this time, she still couldn't let go. She had liked him for two or three years and had given so much.
"I've never served anyone before, but in that apartment, I took care of you like a wife, and you didn't even notice. Instead, you got involved with a waitress from a club!"
Bruce tried to touch her, but Sienna pulled away.
Sienna softly said, "You like me now only because you realized you and Freya aren't compatible. You think someone like me, who matches your social status, is more suitable for you! Bruce, maybe for the sake of reputation, I'll agree to marry you, but it's definitely not because I like you!"
Her words were harsh and clear.
He didn't have to marry her!
But how could Bruce let her go?
He felt Sienna's analysis was wrong. He liked her, and it had nothing to do with Freya. He just liked her. Those days in the mountains, though messy, were the most relaxing times for him.
In fact, Bruce could have left the mountains on foot, but he chose to stay because he liked Sienna and wanted to spend time alone with her.
He didn't say any of this, knowing it would only make Sienna angry.
Bruce took her hand and knelt on one knee in front of her. He didn't say any clichéd proposal lines.
He simply took a diamond ring from his suit pocket and gently slipped it onto her ring finger.
It fit perfectly because it was custom-made.
In the mountains, Bruce had thought about marriage and secretly measured Sienna's finger size at night.
Bruce's voice was deep, "Sienna, before putting on this ring, I didn't dare make any promises to any woman. Because life is long, and who knows what will happen or who we might fall for."
"But I believe marriage is sacred. Once you enter it, you have to be responsible, resist all outside temptations, and ensure the other person's happiness! I want to make you happy."
Sienna's fingers trembled slightly.
She wasn't very happy.
She didn't even dare look at the diamond ring. Her feelings were complicated.
At that moment, Bruce moved forward and gently hugged Sienna.
He let Sienna's head rest against his firm abdomen, softly stroking her long hair.
After a while, he whispered, "I used to see you as a woman, but now, I think of you as a little girl. Sienna, I don't know how much I love you, but I like you a lot. I believe this liking can sustain our marriage for a long time."
Sienna's face was pressed against his abdomen.
She wanted to pull away, but he wouldn't let her. He gently stroked her head, feeling almost paternal.
Bruce knew he definitely wanted to get married, but he hadn't really looked forward to having children before. Now, he longed to have children with Sienna.
He wanted a daughter, just like Sienna.
At that moment, Bruce even envied Frederick for having so many children.
In a tender voice, he said, "Let's have two kids, okay? Hopefully, a daughter."
Sienna was still feeling sad, but he was already thinking about children.
She was about to speak when there was a knock on the door.
It was Lola's voice, "You've been up there for a while. Why aren't you coming down for dinner? Everyone's waiting for you!"
Sienna was startled and wanted to tell Bruce to hide.
But Lola had already opened the door.
Lola stood at the door, her expression playful.
She smiled, "Mr. Taylor! I saw you in the yard earlier and thought you were just here to enjoy the scenery. So, you found your way to Sienna's room?"
She noticed the diamond ring on Sienna's finger.
Lola walked over, clicking her tongue, "Must have cost a pretty penny! Is it an engagement ring?"
She was experienced and thick-skinned.
No matter how powerful Bruce was, he had to look up to Lola.
He respectfully said, "Yes, Lola, we're planning to get married."
Lola took the ring off Sienna's finger, leaving Sienna speechless.
Lola gave her a stern look.
Then she turned to Bruce, smiling, "Mr. Taylor, our families are different from others. Your relationship with Sienna is also different, right? This process can't be rushed. If a girl agrees too quickly, it loses value. This needs to be handled by the elders first. Then you can have a proper ceremony. At that point, it doesn't matter if it's a diamond ring or a tin can! If Sienna wants to marry, I won't say a word against it."
In short, the parents had to agree first.
Bruce finally understood Lola's power. Even a mutual desire for marriage could be put on hold by her. He wasn't angry, remaining polite and gentle, "Of course."
Lola was satisfied.
She gave a warning and a smile, her expression warm, "Since that's settled, let's go down for dinner! Bruce, your place setting is already arranged next to Sienna's! Come over often to spend time with them."
Bruce naturally acted flattered.
Lola told him to go downstairs first.
She then asked Sienna to stay behind for a few words. Once the door was closed, Lola looked at her.
Sienna, like a meek lamb in front of her, said, "Lola."
Lola leaned against the door, her expression softening, as if lost in memories.
She softly said, "Who hasn't been a moth to a flame? It's nothing! Sienna, the important thing is what you want from him. If it's love, you have to accept it might be fleeting. If it's wealth, the Taylor family is offering 10% of their shares, enough for ten lifetimes. If it's the man, Bruce is good-looking enough."
Sienna was moved, "Lola."
Lola's expression turned stern, "That video incident was 90% the Taylor family's fault! Sienna, I just hope that if Bruce ever lets you down, you'll think of yourself first and not act impulsively."
Sienna knew better. She said she understood.
Lola smiled lightly, "Good, then let's go down for dinner."
