Chapter 527 She Really Doesn't Want Him Anymore!

In that moment, Johnny was fuming. "Who the hell is he?"

In the spacious apartment, Johnny's voice cut through the air, cold and pissed off.

Lola woke up, slowly opening her eyes, her long lashes fluttering. She saw Johnny and then the young guy who had gotten up with her.

Seeing Johnny's scary expression, the young guy looked terrified.

Lola rubbed her forehead and said softly, "The check's on the table. You can go now."

The guy grabbed his shoes and bolted. If he had stuck around, he might've gotten a beating.

After the door slammed shut, Lola stretched and gave Johnny a cold stare. "How do you still have a key to my place?"

Johnny ignored her question. Instead, he asked, "Did you pay him?"

"What's it to you?" Lola lowered her eyes. "By the way, I heard you left home. Good. Now we have nothing to do with each other! Johnny, leave the key and get out!"

Johnny picked up the wine bottle on the table and shook it.

She had downed two bottles of red wine, half-drunk and alone with a guy. He asked her if she wasn't scared something might happen.

Lola laughed. "Something might happen? You mean sex? Mr. Flores, why are you so naive? This isn't like you!"

Her mocking words finally set him off.

Johnny lowered his voice. "Lola, don't you want to ask how I've been?"

Lola looked at him quietly.

She actually knew a bit about his recent situation.

Johnny had been beaten up by Frederick and forced to make a choice. Johnny left home.

Lola didn't feel sorry for him.

After their reunion, the more she had been drawn to him, the more disgusted she felt now.

She got up and walked towards the bedroom. "I have to go to the law firm later. You should leave."

He grabbed her hand.

In a flash, Lola was pressed onto the sofa, with Johnny pinning her down.

His face was close to her neck, his voice hoarse and pained. "Lola, these years, it's been my fault! But can't you give me another chance? I have nothing left! I really never loved her."

"But you thought you would love her!" Lola said flatly. "Johnny, saying this is pointless! Can you be straightforward, like you were back then? No one can't live without someone else. Look at you, you've had a great time these past eight years. If you hadn't come back, you'd still be dating other girls and living well. Why do we have to torture each other like this?"

She tried to push him away. But Johnny held her wrist tighter.

Suddenly, he started kissing her. She resisted, but he held her chin firmly, leaving her no choice but to comply. His hot lips and tongue invaded her wantonly.

One of his hands slipped under her clothes, teasing her the way she used to like, trying to spark some old memories. But no matter what he did, it was useless.

Lola broke out in a sweat.

But she didn't feel any passion. She turned her face away. "Johnny, even if we have sex, so what? Not liking you anymore means not liking you anymore!"

In the end, she pushed him away, walked into the bedroom, took a shower, changed clothes, and left.

If he wouldn't leave, then she would!

Johnny stayed in the apartment, waiting for her. He bought a bunch of groceries and made her favorite food. But Lola didn't come back. She even abandoned her home to avoid him.

Johnny finally got it—when Lola said she didn't want him, she really meant it!

On the fourth morning, he sat at the dining table and sent Lola a Facebook message: [I'm leaving. You can come home now!]

Johnny grabbed his coat and headed back to his apartment.

Unexpectedly, Melissa was at the door. She was sitting in a wheelchair with a bouquet of flowers on her lap. Johnny looked at her coldly. "What are you doing here?"

Melissa said softly, "Johnny, today is my birthday."

Johnny said coldly, "Then you should celebrate with Travis!"

He walked past her and took out his key to open the door.

Behind him, Melissa spoke softly, "You know who I like. You also know that Travis married me just because I lost a leg. We haven't had any intimacy!"

"That has nothing to do with me!" Johnny pushed open the door, ready to go in.

Melissa hurriedly hugged him from behind.

She looked up and said softly, "I know you broke up with Lola. Johnny, I've already asked Travis for a divorce. Can we be together?"

Johnny's eyes trembled.

What Melissa said, he had never known.

He had always thought she and Travis were a loving couple, and he had been quite close to them.

He suddenly turned around and pushed Melissa away. "That night, did you come on purpose? You knew Lola was there, so you came to make her misunderstand?"

Melissa's beautiful face froze for a moment.

Suddenly, she became somewhat hysterical. "Yes! I did it on purpose! I had already resigned myself to marrying Travis. I thought you wouldn't fall in love with anyone. But when you returned to Syeattel, you fell in love with Lola again! Johnny, you blame me for making you lose her, but you were the one who kept losing her! You liked her before, so why did you leave her to go abroad? Why did you leave her to be with me? You gave me the chance! Now you regret it? It's too late!"

"Maniac!" Johnny yelled as he slammed the door shut behind him.

He leaned against the door, covering his face. Deep down, he knew Melissa wasn't wrong.

He was the one who gave up.

If he had waited for Lola back then, waited for her to go abroad with him, how different would things be now?

Maybe, they would already have two kids.

Right now, Lola would be in his arms watching TV, softly asking, "Johnny, I want some juice!"

Tears welled up in Johnny's eyes, and he could feel their warmth as they slipped through his fingers.

Lola returned to the apartment.

Everything was as it was, with all of Johnny's things completely gone.

The food he made was all disposed of.

It was as if he had never been there!

Lola sat quietly in the living room for a while, then she left. When she got into the car, she called her assistant, "Help me handle the apartment when you have time!"

Lola drove around aimlessly. She didn't want to live in a place where Johnny had lived.

How long would it take for her to forget?

The car reached the foot of the mountain, and she suddenly braked, her heart pounding.

Looking up, the sky was full of stars.

Lola stared blankly for a long time before forcing a faint smile. That night, she slept in the car and caught a cold. It was three days later when she recovered and went to the law firm.

As soon as she arrived, the secretary whispered, "Mr. Flores called. He said there's a case that needs you to negotiate."

Lola was slightly stunned, then nodded. She finished her work in the morning and then called Johnny, cold and indifferent.

Johnny was also businesslike. "We need to go to Copenhagen for a business trip. About five days. Is that convenient for you, Ms. Hawkins?"

Lola wasn't someone who mixed personal matters with business.

She checked her planner and scheduled it for the following Monday.

After hanging up, she felt a bit tired, rubbed her forehead, and her phone rang. It was Frederick calling.

Today was Frederick's birthday. He asked Lola to come home for dinner.

Lola hadn't been home for a long time and said, "Okay. Dad, what gift do you want?"

Frederick perked up. "You coming home is the best gift! Running around all the time, and now you're even learning to keep celebrity. I'm telling you, if you dare to mess around, I'll break your legs!"

Lola smiled faintly.

After work, she drove back to the villa.

The house was lively, filled with the aroma of food, and the servants were bustling around. Lola gave Frederick a hug.

She opened the trunk of her sports car, revealing a large bouquet of roses. "For Dad and Mom!"

Frederick laughed. "You sure know how to give gifts, clearly trying to make your mom happy!"

Lola held the flowers and walked inside.

Frederick followed her, his gaze deep.

He stood outside for a while, looking at the parking lot. There were many cars, all belonging to the younger family members who had come to celebrate his birthday, but one person was missing.

The day Johnny left, he had sat alone in his study for a long time.

Frederick felt conflicted. If he truly treated Johnny as his own son, how could he bear to really drive him away?

He had been thinking about it these days.

Thinking about Johnny as a child, when his younger siblings were playing, Johnny was already helping Frederick with work.

In the study, it was often Johnny who kept him company. But now, he had lost this son.

Frederick smoked a few cigarettes. It wasn't until someone called him from inside that he slowly walked back.

After a few steps, he couldn't help but look back.

What if Johnny came back?

For Frederick's birthday, the Hawkins Family and the Devereux Family younger members all came. Gavin brought Cynthia and Natalie, and with their family members, they filled a large table.

Charlotte made the cake herself.

But she was also used to setting a place for Johnny, and it wasn't until they started eating that she realized someone was really missing.

No one mentioned Johnny, afraid it would make Lola sad.

While they were eating, the butler came over, holding a gift box. "Sir, this is from Johnny!"

Frederick quickly stood up. "Where is he?"

The butler hesitated. "He left it with the gatekeeper and left."

Frederick slowly sat back down.

He smiled faintly. "He was thoughtful! Put it in the study."

The butler nodded and took the gift upstairs.

Frederick looked at Lola. "You haven't seen him recently?"

Lola didn't hide it. "There's a case next week that needs negotiation, and I'll be in Copenhagen for a few days. No personal contact."

Frederick didn't ask further.

Lola really wasn't in the mood. After dinner, she went upstairs. It was already completely dark outside.

She stood on the balcony, feeling the breeze.

In the backyard of the villa, a Range Rover was parked there. It was Johnny's car.

He was leaning against the car, smoking.

His eyes met Lola's.
