Chapter 164 Frederick, Let's Try Again!

In Syeattel.

Recently, Frederick had been busy with social engagements, and they hadn't seen each other for several days.

Charlotte was at home with William and Maria.

"Oh no, the pipe burst!" Maria exclaimed from the kitchen, her apron soaked and dripping water onto the floor as she walked out.

William quickly said, "Go change your clothes. Don't catch a cold."

Maria felt warm inside from William's concern.

As she walked towards the bedroom, she said to Charlotte, "Charlotte, call the maintenance to fix the pipe, or we won't be able to cook."

Charlotte responded with a hum.

She found the maintenance number and made the call.

The maintenance team was quick; the doorbell rang about half an hour later, and Charlotte went to open the door.

When she opened the door, it was Frederick standing outside.

He was in a dark blue shirt, a high-end dark gray coat and gray wool trousers.

He looked mature and handsome!

Charlotte was momentarily stunned and asked, "Why are you here?"

Frederick gazed at her, his eyes somewhat gentle. "Just finished my work. I want to see you, so I came."

Charlotte wanted to talk to him outside.

Maria, having changed her clothes, came out and saw him. "Frederick is here!"

Frederick took the opportunity to step inside, gracefully placing the gift he brought on the cabinet and handing his coat to Charlotte. "I've been busy at the firm, otherwise I would have come to see Mr. Russell earlier."

Maria was quite happy. "It's enough that you came. No need to bring anything!"

Frederick glanced at Charlotte and then slowly said, "It's my duty."

Maria caught the implication.

She subtly looked at William, letting him make the decision.

William also understood.

Frederick genuinely wanted to date his daughter, but since their parents hadn't met, it wouldn't be proper to have dinner at either house.

William smiled and said, "It's a busy time! Charlotte, you entertain Frederick, but don't keep him too long; he has to go home for dinner."

Maria prepared some water.

While pouring, she said, "Charlotte, ask the maintenance why they haven't come yet."

Charlotte, not wanting to deal with Frederick, decided to go to her room to make the call.

Frederick, however, said, "Maria, don't worry. I'll handle it!"

Maria laughed happily. "Frederick, you can do this? Don't get your clothes dirty."

"It's no trouble."

Frederick had already rolled up his sleeves and grabbed the tools to start working.

Maria asked Charlotte to assist him.

In the small kitchen, the door was closed.

Charlotte squatted next to Frederick, watching his skilled movements, quite surprised. "I didn't expect you to know how to do this!"

Frederick's gaze was deep.

After a moment, he smiled lightly. "I can do a lot of things!"

Charlotte's cheeks turned slightly red. 'This man was so improper!'

Frederick wasn't exaggerating; he fixed the pipe quickly and efficiently.

They say men were most attractive when they were working. Charlotte hadn't understood this before, but now, crouching beside him, watching his handsome profile, she felt her heart flutter.

Frederick packed up the tools and turned his head with a half-smile. "Are you mesmerized? Haven't you seen a man as good-looking as me?"

Charlotte felt awkward and tried to stand up.

Frederick didn't let her, leaning in close and whispering, "I have to go home for dinner tonight! Let's go out for a date later; I have a gift for you."

She was tempted, but Charlotte hesitated a bit.

Frederick's gaze was profound. Suddenly, he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.

"Frederick, are you done?" The door opened slightly, and Maria saw the stolen kiss.

Charlotte blushed, unsure of what to do, while Frederick, with a thick skin, stood up to wash his hands, smiling. "Maria, I want to take Charlotte out to buy some things. I've been too busy to spend time with her."

Maria naturally agreed. "Young people should go out more."

Frederick finished washing his hands and straightened his shirt.

He politely said, "I'll bring Charlotte back before dinner. In a few days, I want to take her to meet my parents. I just want to let you and Mr. Russell know first."

Maria suppressed her joy and told Charlotte to change clothes and go on the date with Frederick.

Ten minutes later, Charlotte sat in the golden Bentley.

She bit her lip lightly. "I didn't agree to meet your parents."

Frederick lit a cigarette, resting his hand on the car window.

He smiled. "I've met your parents. Shouldn't you meet mine? Or do you think we can decide on marriage without telling our parents?"

Charlotte turned her head in anger.

Frederick, holding the cigarette in one hand, used the other to hold her head.

He kissed her. After a long kiss, he rested his forehead against hers and whispered, "We don't need to tell them about sleeping together, but we do need to tell them about getting married."

Charlotte didn't want to rush.

She asked him, "Didn't you say you had a gift for me?"

Frederick smiled, extinguished the cigarette, and started the car.

The car headed towards his apartment, but he stopped once along the way.

Frederick got out to buy a pack of cigarettes and a small box, which he placed in the glove compartment.

Charlotte blushed with anger.

She turned her face slightly. "Frederick, is this your gift?"

Frederick fastened his seatbelt. Hearing this, he turned and lightly brushed her flushed cheek, laughing. "Who said this is for you? Ms. Russell, do you think of having sex with me when you see this?"

He was shameless, and Charlotte didn't want to deal with him.

Frederick sat up straight, looking ahead.

He cleared his throat lightly. "Charlotte, I'm not bad in that aspect, right?"

Charlotte couldn't continue this topic.

She had no one else to compare to, having only been intimate with Frederick, but she guessed that Frederick had a high demand and was very skilled compared with other men.

She admitted she still liked him.

Everything about Frederick was mesmerizing to women; falling for him was the most natural thing.

But there were so many obstacles between them, Charlotte didn't know if her feelings could withstand them all. She felt somewhat confused.

But she knew that being with him today meant taking a step further!

Charlotte leaned back in her seat, her expression slightly fragile. "Frederick, are you sure?"

He gently hugged her. "I'm quitesure!"

Charlotte leaned on his shoulder, inhaling his scent of tobacco, and closed her eyes lightly. 'Frederick, let's try again!

What happened next was natural.
