Chapter 179 Father and Daughters

Katherine glared at Charlotte, who looked great in her light green dress.

Katherine was fuming.

'Why does she look so good? Frederick dumped her, so how is she living so well and even winning an Outstanding Youth Award? I won't let her be proud!' she swore in her head.

Katherine softened her tone. "I heard you're getting an award. I brought you a special gift!"

Jenna handed over some water.

Charlotte drank calmly. "Miss Mitchell, that's thoughtful, but we're not exactly friends, are we?"

Katherine pulled a blade from her pocket, a crazed look in her eyes. "I'll spill some blood for your good luck!"

Lily glared at her. "If you want to die, don't do it here! Frederick isn't around to save you!"

Charlotte stayed calm, looking at Katherine.

Katherine smirked. "Frederick won't see me, so I came to you. What do you think he'll think if I cut myself and tell the police you did it?"

"His opinion doesn't matter to me. It's your life; if you don't value it, no one else can help," Charlotte said, knowing Katherine wouldn't dare to die.

Katherine was just a spoiled girl trying to reclaim what she lost, and Charlotte was caught in her mess with Frederick.

Katherine smiled and cut her wrist, then called Elijah. "Dad, Charlotte hurt me. Come save me! I'm bleeding a lot."

She also called 911, trying to frame Charlotte. "Outstanding Youth? Dream on!"

Elijah arrived quickly with the police.

Katherine threw herself into his arms, crying. "Dad, I was trying to get Charlotte to reconcile with Frederick, but she hates me and cut my wrist, asking why I didn't die!"

Elijah held Katherine, looking at Charlotte. "Is what Katherine said true?"

Charlotte stared at him. 'He believes her?'

Not long ago, he was mourning at her mother's grave, calling out Victoria's name in agony!

A man's deep affection meant nothing!

Charlotte lowered her eyes. She hadn't planned to acknowledge him anyway. She spoke flatly, "We have evidence."

Katherine said softly, "The wound on my hand is real. Miss Russell, I have no reason to frame you."

She looked pitiful. "I wanted to let it go for Frederick's sake, but Charlotte, you went too far. I know you hate me, but I didn't think you'd want me dead!"

Elijah said calmly, "Charlotte, apologize to Katherine, and I'll persuade her not to take legal action."

Lily couldn't hold back. "Elijah, are you stupid? If you have a mentally ill person at home, don't let them out to frame others. You might end up locking yourself up!"

She knew about Elijah and Charlotte's relationship and felt sorry for her.

Compared to William, Elijah was nothing!

Charlotte was raised with William's love, never suffering. She remembered in college, whenever it rained, William would come with an umbrella to pick her up. Once, when the entrance was flooded, the man in his fifties even carried Charlotte on his back.

Everyone in class was envious.

Lily wanted to say more, but Charlotte gently stopped her. "No need."

She turned to the police officers, smiling slightly. "I have surveillance here, with sound. Katherine cut her wrist to frame me. Whether she's mentally ill or a criminal, she fits one of those categories. I provide evidence and formally sue Katherine for defamation and personal injury."

Jenna handed over the video, and the police watched it immediately.

Katherine's face changed dramatically. "Charlotte, you're framing me!"

"Shut up!" Elijah scolded her.

He was heartbroken. He never thought Katherine would do such a thing. She had always been a well-behaved, if spoiled, child.

Elijah looked at Charlotte, speaking with difficulty. "Let's talk."

Katherine, still spoiled, said indifferently, "Dad, just give her some money."

Elijah slapped her. It was the first time he had ever hit Katherine. "Katherine, she's your sister! She's my biological daughter!"

Katherine's face turned pale. 'How could Elijah know about Charlotte's background? I tore up that letter!'

The room fell silent, even the police were unsettled. The famous musician Elijah had another child?

Charlotte spoke coldly, "Mr. Mitchell, don't talk nonsense."

She looked into his eyes. "My last name is Russell, and my father was William. I am the child of William and Victoria. I have nothing to do with you."

Elijah's lips trembled. He never expected Charlotte to hate him so much.

His hands shook as he pulled out a document, a DNA test report. It read, [Results: DNA analysis indicates that Elijah Mitchell is the biological father of Charlotte Russell.]

Elijah choked. "This is proof. Can you still say we have no relationship?"

Charlotte took the test report and smiled lightly. "I finally understand why Mom left you. Mr. Mitchell, we may have a biological relationship, but that's it. I despise you. You plead for Katherine, but have you thought about how much I lost with Frederick? Don't go to my mom's grave anymore. She has my dad, and that's enough. My dad loved her very much."

Charlotte looked at Elijah and slowly tore the test report into pieces, leaving no trace.

Elijah's face turned pale, and he kept stepping back. He couldn't believe his biological daughter was so heartless. He had hoped revealing his identity would make her reconcile with Katherine, that they might become loving sisters.

In the end, it was just a false hope.

Charlotte closed her eyes and spoke softly, "Mr. Mitchell, please take Miss Mitchell away. I reserve the right to sue. Take care of your daughter. Don't let her harm others and herself again. I will always have the last name Russell."

Charlotte's heart was in turmoil; she wasn't made of stone. In just half a month, she had experienced great ups and downs, and she couldn't bear it anymore. She fainted.
