Chapter 725 Lola, Let's Restore Our Marital Relationship!
After Johnny finished talking, he let go of her and stepped back, both of them checking each other out in the mirror.
Even though they’d just had a pretty intense moment, there was no leftover emotion in their eyes, just mutual sizing up.
Suddenly, Johnny chuckled and gently placed his hand on her slender shoulder. "We can go now, Mrs. Flores."
They’d been divorced for a while, and it had been ages since he called her that. It felt a bit abrupt.
Lola slowly stood up, and as Johnny’s hand slid down, he reached out to her. The sunset streamed through the glass, casting a beautiful, almost ethereal glow over them.
But to Lola, the light was blinding.
She lowered her eyes and gently placed her hand in his. Johnny held it lightly.
There were quite a few people out today.
In the villa’s courtyard, a black stretch Lincoln limousine was already parked. Lola knew it was custom-made and bulletproof. She couldn’t help but mock, "Since when did you become so afraid of dying? Feeling guilty?"
A bodyguard in black opened the car door, and it slid open.
Johnny held Angelina’s hand, helping her into the car. His voice was soft, "Watch your head."
Angelina, having been cooped up for a while, was happy to be going out.
Once Angelina was seated, Johnny turned to look at Lola. "I’m not afraid of dying. We still have two kids. Besides, you haven’t forgiven me yet."
Under that gaze, Lola couldn’t respond.
As she bent down to get into the car, Johnny gently supported her waist. Her body tensed instantly, but she said nothing and calmly took her seat.
After Johnny got in, the bodyguard closed the door.
The stretch limo was spacious and comfortable. Angelina was in a good mood and chatted the whole way.
Lola had something on her mind.
She gently stroked Angelina’s little head. Angelina, unaware of the adult turmoil, gazed out the window... The scenery of Silverpeak City was different from Seattle.
Johnny also watched Angelina.
After a moment, he shifted his gaze to Lola and said softly, "Angelina is really happy. Lola... you want her to always be this happy, don’t you?"
Lola’s heart skipped a beat. She met Johnny’s eyes, but he said nothing more.
Johnny took them to a local high-society party, which also had children attending. The event was quite upscale.
As soon as they entered, a waiter led them inside and spoke to Johnny with great respect, "Sir, he’s been waiting for you for a long time."
Johnny smiled slightly.
Lola was secretly surprised. She knew Johnny’s business had grown significantly over the years, but this mansion... she recognized it as belonging to one of the top five wealthiest people in the world. When had Johnny become so close to this person?
But she remained composed, handing a glass of juice to Angelina.
Angelina took a small sip. "It’s sweet."
Lola patted her face and looked up at Johnny, who said, "You stay with Angelina and get something to eat. I’ll go upstairs to discuss some matters and then come back to join you."
Lola nodded.
Johnny squatted down next to Angelina and pinched her little nose. "Listen to Mommy and don’t run around. Wait here for Daddy."
Angelina obediently nodded.
Her eyes were exceptionally bright, softening Johnny's heart. He couldn't help but kiss her before hoarsely telling Lola, "I'm heading up."
Lola watched him follow the waiter upstairs.
She knew Johnny was likely discussing business. Important projects usually took at least half an hour... enough time for her to leave with Angelina.
Lola didn't leave immediately.
She held a glass of champagne, looking around. She saw their limo still parked on the lawn, the driver dozing off inside.
Lola took out a pair of diamond cufflinks from her handbag—Johnny's.
She had taken them from his accessory cabinet while changing clothes before leaving. Now, she clenched them tightly... the hard little objects digging into her fingers painfully.
Angelina was engrossed in watching the star-shaped lights.
Lola crouched down. "Angelina, Mommy wants to take you home soon. Stay close to Mommy and don't say anything, okay?"
Angelina blinked, somewhat understanding.
After a moment, she asked softly, "Are we going back to Seattle? Are we leaving Daddy?"
Lola couldn't lie to her anymore. She had to take Angelina away and let her know... they wouldn't be living together anymore.
She didn't speak, just gently stroked Angelina's hair.
Angelina was silent for a moment, then lowered her head and leaned close to Lola. "I'll go with Mommy."
At that moment, Lola felt a deep ache.
But she had to leave, had to get away from Johnny within this half-hour and contact Frederick... She led Angelina towards the lawn, taking advantage of the driver's distraction to hide Angelina in the car's blind spot.
The driver saw Lola approaching and got out of the car immediately. "Mrs. Flores."
Lola adjusted her clothes and naturally opened the car door. "Mr. Flores dropped a pair of cufflinks in the car last time. Let me find them."
The back seat opened, and she bent down to search.
The driver thought nothing of it, assuming it was something Johnny and Lola had left behind during a private moment in the car.
Such things weren't uncommon in high society.
After a moment, Lola smiled, holding the cufflinks. "Found them!"
The driver sighed in relief, ready to get back in the car and pass the time. But Lola said, "Could you please take these to the banquet hall for me? Angelina went to the restroom, and I need to check on her."
The driver hesitated.
He knew Lola was forbidden from leaving.
But seeing that Angelina wasn't there, he thought Lola couldn't leave alone. Besides, delivering something wouldn't cause any trouble, so he agreed.
In the night, Lola watched the driver walk into the bustling banquet hall, her gaze deep.
Next to her, Angelina quietly opened the car door and got in.
Lola didn't hesitate, opening the driver's door and getting in, lightly pressing the gas pedal... The black limo started, slowly heading towards the mansion's gate.
Inside the car, Lola's hands were trembling.
She was finally leaving.
Johnny had brought her to Silverpeak City for over half a month. She wasn't unafraid; she feared he might go crazy and really get her pregnant. How would she handle that?
She hadn't forgotten Angelina, speaking softly, "We're going home."
Angelina's lips trembled. "Okay."
She liked Johnny, and she liked it when Johnny and Lola took her and Austin together. But if Lola wasn't happy, she wasn't happy either.
Lola pressed the gas pedal, and the car sped up.
Behind them, the driver realized he had been tricked and chased after them, shouting in a language Lola couldn't understand. But her car was almost at the villa gates.
Just then, the ornate black gates began to close slowly.
Above, countless floodlights turned on, making the night as bright as day.
Lola slammed on the brakes.
She sat in the car, unmoving, calmly staring ahead. She knew she couldn't escape... Johnny had never trusted her from the start; he had always been on guard.
Angelina asked anxiously, "Mommy, are we not getting away?"
Lola closed her eyes briefly, her tone surprisingly light. "No, we can't get away for now. We might have to stay here a bit longer."
Angelina pursed her lips, saying nothing. Even a child could understand some things.
About two minutes later, the driver's door was opened.
Lola looked up and saw Johnny. He stood outside in his expensive suit, looking down at her with a gentle, lingering gaze... but she felt a chill run through her. She didn't know what Johnny would do to her.
Lola spoke softly, "Johnny, this villa is yours, isn't it?"
Johnny showed no embarrassment at being found out.
With his hands in his pockets, he glanced around the vast estate and said softly, "I originally wanted to surprise you and Angelina, but now... I guess you don't care about my surprises."
Lola restrained herself and asked, "What do you want to do?"
Johnny stared into her eyes, then suddenly bent down and pulled her out of the driver's seat, opening the back door... As he helped her in, he said slowly, "Mrs. Flores, are you sure you want to discuss such inappropriate topics in front of Angelina?"
Lola knew he wouldn't let her off tonight.
She didn't want to show fear. After getting into the car, she gently patted Angelina's head. Angelina leaned against her, tears welling up.
Johnny watched for a moment, then clenched his teeth and closed the door.
He drove the car himself, with several other cars escorting them. Lola couldn't escape.
They returned to the villa they had been staying at. The car came to a slow stop, and Johnny unbuckled his seatbelt and got out. He opened the door and took Angelina out, handing her to a maid and soothing her, "Go play in the children's room for a bit. Daddy will be right there."
Angelina clung to his hand.
Johnny patted her hand and signaled the maid, "Take Angelina upstairs."
The maid, seeing his stern expression, quickly took Angelina to the children's room upstairs... Johnny watched the maid's retreating figure for a moment before turning his gaze back.
He didn't deal with Lola immediately.
He stood outside the car, taking off his suit jacket and lightly stretching his neck.
Then he lit a cigarette, smoking it slowly... When he finally put it out and looked at Lola, she had been watching him, her body tense.
Under the moonlight, Johnny smiled faintly.
He said, "I was planning to give you time to adjust, but now I think it's unnecessary... Lola, from tonight on, we will resume our marital relationship."
Resume their marital relationship?
Seeing her expression, Johnny smiled again. He bent down and gently stroked her face, saying, "Resuming our marital relationship means that from tonight on, we will sleep together, and share our bodies. To put it bluntly, we will make love."
Lola replied coldly, "Too bad I don't want to."
Johnny's pupils contracted, but then he said nonchalantly, "I want to, and that's enough!"
His long fingers lightly brushed her delicate face.
He spoke with a mix of tenderness and cruelty, "You have no idea how many nights I've wanted to strip you and take you, but I held back because I knew you'd resent me... Now, there's no need to hold back! No matter what I do, you won't be moved or forgive me."
With that, he dragged Lola out of the car.
She couldn't resist; the place was filled with his people, and Angelina was still in the villa. She couldn't let Angelina hear Johnny forcing her.
Tears welled up in Lola's eyes. She whispered, "Johnny, don't make me hate you."
Johnny didn't care.
He lifted her in his arms, carrying her through the entrance hall and up the stairs... In the master bedroom, he set her down. As soon as she stood up, he restrained her, seemingly enjoying using his tie to bind her.
Lola's delicate body sank into the large bed.
She couldn't move.
She watched as Johnny slowly approached, unbuttoning his shirt... His deep eyes fixed on her.
It wasn't mutual desire; neither of them was comfortable.
Johnny held her chin, forcing her to look at him. His voice was hoarse, "Lola, it wasn't like this before. You used to like it when I held you."
Lola felt nothing.
She loathed him.
Burying her face in the pillow, her voice trembled, "That was before! Johnny, have you forgotten those videos of you kissing Shirley? Every time I see you, I think of them and feel disgusted... Why hold on to a woman who feels nothing for you? There are so many women out there, and you always liked them, didn't you?"
After she said so much, Johnny laughed lightly.
His face was buried in her neck, his breath hot against her skin, causing shivers of revulsion, not desire.
"No feelings for me?"
Johnny propped himself up, lightly brushing her face. "What can I do? I always get what I want. Lola, you say you have no feelings... We'll have to find a way, won't we?"
Lola's eyes widened.
Johnny chuckled, pulling a small bottle from the nightstand. He kissed her softly, murmuring, "Don't worry, it's all-natural, no side effects. It'll just make you feel good... make you want to be close to me."
Lola was furious, hitting his shoulder.
"Johnny, you're crazy! You bastard!"
His blue eyes looked deeply into hers. He suddenly said hoarsely, "Lola, if you say you love me, we won't make love... I'll keep waiting for you to come around."
Lola sneered.
Johnny didn't seem disappointed by her lack of response. He fed her a pill, his hands entwined with hers, preventing her from struggling.
Lola didn't know what it was, but guessed it was an aphrodisiac.
The pill dissolved, tasting like fruit candy.
She resisted him, but Johnny didn't force her. He just held her, kissing her continuously... Slowly, Lola felt unsatisfied. She wanted Johnny to hold her. Her cheeks flushed, her voice becoming hoarse.
She called his name softly, "Johnny."
Johnny kissed her casually, brushing her hair aside, and studying her eyes.
Lola knew she shouldn't, but she couldn't help it.
She pressed her body against his, like a cat, whispering, "Johnny, hold me..."
