Chapter 657 Kingsley, Let's Have a Baby!

After asking, Kingsley looked at her, his delicate face full of infatuation. He knew deep down that if she didn't love him, she wouldn't be so passionate when they were together.

After a moment, Amara snapped back to reality. She pressed her face against his warm neck, slowly rubbing it, a mix of sensuality and intimacy, and asked, "What about you?"

Kingsley looked down at her, his blue eyes filled with love. Amara didn't say it outright. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, pleasing him in the way he liked.

Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mist. After that night, their relationship got a lot better.

Whether it was private or business-related events, Kingsley would bring Amara along if he needed a companion. Amara would join him whenever she was free. He introduced her to his network, and sometimes, in a good mood, he would discuss business matters with her. But most of the time, when they were alone, he would make love to her.

Amara felt he was a bit too indulgent. But she could feel Kingsley's importance and respect for her. They got along really well, and sometimes Amara herself felt that these days were too sweet.

Nicole lived with them, and Naomi would visit during holidays.

Over time, Billy also started coming over, always bringing cakes and sweets for the children.

Nicole didn't pay much attention to him, but Billy patiently stayed with her anyway. Amara could see that Billy was actually waiting for Naomi. However, even when Billy saw Naomi, she didn't pay much attention to him, let alone consider getting back together.

In late summer, Kingsley brought Amara and Jesse back to the Hawkins Mansion.

Although it wasn't explicitly stated, their relationship was completely settled. Frederick and Charlotte were generous to Amara, gifting her two villas and two high-end apartments in the city center.

In the master bedroom on the second floor, Charlotte opened the safe, and there was a necklace on the outermost layer. As she picked it up, she gently stroked it and murmured, "It's been a long time since I opened this!"

The necklace looked intact, but upon closer inspection, it had been repaired. With the Hawkins Family's wealth, such an item must be important!

Amara asked softly, "Is this very important to you?"

Charlotte gently stroked it for a while, then put it back in its place. While looking for suitable jewelry for Amara, she said, "It was given by an old friend! He's already dead."

Amara, having been around Landon, had heard about Charlotte's past and guessed it was Ethan—the one who had wronged Charlotte and later regretted it. Amara sighed softly.

Charlotte thought of that dream. She smiled with relief. "It's all in the past."

Charlotte brought out a few sets of rare jewelry and said, "At your age, it's still a bit early to wear jade and sapphires. These sets are more suitable for you. Kingsley has also collected quite a bit over the years. Even though he doesn't say it, I know he's been keeping them for you. You can ask him about it later."

Amara blushed. Of course, she was too embarrassed to ask about such things.

Charlotte chatted with her alone for a while and even showed her photos of Kingsley as a child. Amara also got to know Lola, Gavin, and the others.

Charlotte said, "When Gavin was little, he didn't know his father and always called him by the wrong name."

Amara smiled faintly. Looking at the kids in the photos, she felt a bit envious, as this was something she didn't have growing up.

Charlotte noticed. She gently pressed Amara's hand and smiled. "There are so many kids in the family now, it's lively. When you and Kingsley get married, you can move back in. Kingsley really likes little girls and has always wanted one."

Amara then thought about how Kingsley had been making love to her without using any contraception lately. She hadn't been taking birth control pills either. But after a few months, she still hadn't gotten pregnant.

When they returned from the Hawkins Mansion, Jesse stayed there to play for a couple of days.

Kingsley was driving, and as he looked ahead, he asked casually, "What did my mom say to you?"

Amara answered honestly, "She gave me a few sets of jewelry."

At a red light, Kingsley stopped the car, his gaze shifting to the elaborate boxes in the back seat before settling on Amara. "Not refusing anymore?"

Amara knew he was teasing her again, so she said, "Well, we can return them now if you want!"

Kingsley pinched her cheek. "No way!"

When the light turned green, he started the car again. Amara thought for a moment and asked, "Your mom said you want a girl, but we haven't gotten pregnant after all this time. Could it be that one of us has a problem? Should we go to the hospital for a check-up?"

After she asked, there was a long silence in the car.

After a while, his voice tightened slightly, "You want a child? Didn't you say you wanted to focus on your career and not think about these things?"

Amara leaned back in her seat, looking at him sideways, and said softly, "Kingsley, I'm serious! Should we go to the hospital for a check-up?"

Kingsley glanced at her and said indifferently, "Jesse is already this grown up; how could we have any problems? Not getting pregnant after two or three months means we're making love too frequently. If we want a child, we should do it less often."

He said it so seriously that Amara felt the topic could be dropped.

The car drove back to the villa. In the twilight, the large trees in the yard blocked most of the light, making the world seem even darker.

Kingsley parked, and just as Amara was about to get out, he stopped her. "Wait a minute!"

Amara was puzzled.

Kingsley's gaze deepened. "It's the Hughes Family's car! Don't get out; I'll go talk to them."

Amara was stunned for a moment.

Kingsley looked back at her, speaking gently, "Zachary was secretly admitted to the hospital last night. It seems to be a serious illness that has been dragging on for a while. The one who came should be Maurice."

As he spoke, he opened the car door and got out.

"Mr. Hughes!" When facing elders, Kingsley was always graceful and well-mannered.

Sure enough, Maurice got out of the black car.

Seeing Kingsley alone, he glanced at the car and seemed disappointed. He then said softly, "Where's Amara? Does she not want to see me?"

Kingsley offered a faint smile in response, "I heard Mr. Zachary Hughes was hospitalized! Are you here to ask Amara to visit him? Who is his legitimate daughter? If you want Amara to visit, under what title should she come? The Hawkins Family's daughter-in-law? Unfortunately, we are not married yet, so she has no connection to the Hughes Family."

His ambiguous words made Maurice unhappy.

Maurice said, "Kingsley, why are you being so unkind? No matter what, Amara is Zachary's biological daughter. Zachary might not recover this time; at least let them meet once!"

In the twilight, Kingsley's handsome face was cold and indifferent. Kingsley sneered, "Biological daughter?"

Maurice was startled.

Although the Hughes and Hawkins families were both wealthy, a gap had always separated them, growing only wider in recent years. Kingsley's business tactics were well-known, but Maurice, who was less involved in business, had little contact with him. Now, seeing Kingsley's change in attitude, Maurice realized the severity of the situation.

Kingsley's voice was icy. "Now you say Amara is his biological daughter? Where was he all these years? Does he know what kind of life Amara had growing up? Her mother committed suicide, she was fostered by others, and she couldn't even choose her own relationships. Zachary is worth billions, but after deceiving her mother, did he settle things properly? Mr. Hughes, you say 'biological daughter' so lightly. Didn't he try to take my biological son away last time? I don't have that good of a temper."

Maurice felt guilty, but with Zachary seriously ill, he had no choice but to plead. "Just let them meet!"

Kingsley's expression softened a bit. He lit a cigarette and smoked half of it. "I'll talk to her, but whether she goes or not is up to her. If the Hughes Family tries any tricks, don't blame me for being rude. I've been holding back for a long time!"

Maurice felt a chill.

Kingsley was partly to blame for Zachary's illness. If Kingsley hadn't been competing with the Hughes Group so fiercely, Zachary wouldn't have worked day and night, worsening his condition.

Maurice could only say, "Thank you!"

As Maurice got into the car, he caught a glimpse of Amara, who was sitting in the car and must have heard everything with the window half down.

Maurice hesitated, wanting to approach, but with Kingsley nearby, he got into the back seat, and the car drove away shortly after.

Kingsley stood silently, his eyes fixed on Amara. The cherry of his cigarette glowed faintly as he took a final drag.

Finally, the last bit of twilight faded away. His profile was swallowed by the night, and although there was no light, Amara felt she could see him clearly. She thought his profile was incredibly attractive at that moment.

Amara got out of the car and slowly walked to his side. Kingsley didn't move. She gently hugged his waist and murmured, "Thank you."

He was tall, and she wasn't wearing high heels, so hugging him only reached his shoulder. Kingsley lightly raised his hand and touched her small head, enjoying the embrace very much.

He stroked her hair, his voice hoarse. "I prefer something more practical!"

Amara bit her lip. "You just said..."

Kingsley laughed, his fingers moving down to touch her delicate face. "You're so eager to have my baby?"

He wrapped one arm around her waist, lit another cigarette with his other hand, and as he smoked, Amara moved uneasily. He gently pressed her down and whispered, "Stay with me for a while."

Amara felt he was different, but she couldn't put her finger on it. After a while, Kingsley lowered his head and gently kissed her, saying, "Whether you want to see him or not is up to you. Don't worry. The Hawkins family will always have your back."

Amara obediently stayed in his arms. Even though she now had a career, those past experiences were something she couldn't escape.

Only Kingsley was strong enough to suppress the Hughes Family. In the past, she had feelings for Kingsley, but recently, being close to him like now, she felt an unprecedented sense of security.

Amara couldn't help but murmur, "Whatever you want, I can give it to you."

Kingsley smiled gently, his eyes softening as he occasionally glanced down at her. If not for her more refined features and less innocence, he might have thought they were back in their best times. But now was nice too.

Kingsley held her with one arm, smoking a cigarette in the night. Over the years, he had developed a bit of a smoking habit and wanted to light another one, but Amara stopped him.

She put the cigarette back in the box. "Don't smoke tonight! And cut down in the future."

Kingsley looked at her deeply.

They were so close that the servants didn't dare come out. Finally, Hazel came over and said, "I shouldn't have let Mr. Hughes in, but given his status..."

Kingsley didn't mind, saying lightly, "Just don't let him in next time! He annoys me!"

Hazel covered her mouth and laughed, quickly going to prepare dinner.

Kingsley was in a good mood and even opened a bottle of red wine. During dinner, his phone rang several times, and he looked at it but ignored it. Amara asked, "If it's important, you should handle it."

Kingsley looked at her. "Jimmy invited me for a drink. Do you want me to go?"

Amara lowered her head to eat. After a while, she asked softly, "Are there young girls?"

Kingsley smiled faintly. "I don't know! Probably."

Amara continued eating, and after a while, she said, "Then you can't go!"

Kingsley sipped his wine and looked at her. "It's rare that Jesse and Nicole aren't home. Don't you want to relax? Caitlyn will be there too! She's now managing the Robinson Family business. Although Jimmy's group doesn't do big business, their company always invests in hotels. She's quite career-focused now."

Hearing this, Amara wanted to go. She hadn't seen Caitlyn for half a month and wanted to catch up.

Kingsley had been drinking, so it wasn't convenient for him to drive. When they went out, Amara drove the white Bentley.

Kingsley sat beside her.

Looking at the pink interior, he suddenly said, "Every time I see you driving this car, it feels like we've just made love, and you're wearing my shirt. It makes me want to..."

He didn't finish his sentence.

Amara, holding the steering wheel, said softly, "I didn't know you had this kind of interest."

Kingsley relaxed, leaning back. He turned to her. "There's a lot you don't know! I'm a man; why can't I think about these things?"

Amara indulged him. "You can!"

At a red light, she stopped and turned to him. "But you can't think about others."

Kingsley loved it when she was like this. Now he regretted agreeing to Jimmy. It would have been nice to have some alone time at home; they didn't get to spend much time together.

Half an hour later, the white Bentley slowly stopped at the entrance of the club. As Amara got out, she unexpectedly saw Landon's car. She was surprised and told Kingsley, "Mr. Carter is here too?"

Kingsley put his arm around her shoulder. "You really have a connection!"
