Chapter 586 Kingsley, I Have Never Loved You

Kingsley stared at the letter for what felt like forever.

Usually, he was the kind of guy who made quick decisions, especially in business.

But this letter? It hit him hard. After a long pause, he finally picked it up and read it quietly.

The handwriting was a mess, like it was written in a rush. The complete content of the note: [Kingsley, I'm sorry. I lied to you again! I've always liked Ralph! These past few days were just a deal; you got what you wanted, and so did I. Forget about me! Don't look for me!]

Kingsley read those short sentences over and over.

Right now, he was absolutely fuming.

He couldn't wrap his head around the idea that Amara didn't like him. If that was true, then what was all that passion about these past few days?

He raised his hand and unbuttoned a couple of buttons on his shirt.

The door swung open, and Rebecca walked in, saying, "Mr. Hawkins, the car's waiting downstairs! Has Amara come back? Should we grab the luggage and pick her up directly?"

As soon as she finished talking, she noticed the mess everywhere.

This wasn't right; Amara was always so good at keeping things tidy!

She looked up at Kingsley and saw his face was stone-cold.

Kingsley said icily, "Postpone the meeting in Syeattel indefinitely, and also, help me track down Amara."

Rebecca was stunned.

Amara and Kingsley had a falling out? Weren't they all lovey-dovey just a few days ago?

Two hours later, at Stellaria City train station, Amara stood in a security check line that seemed endless. She looked down at the ticket in her hand, feeling a bit lost.

She was waiting for Kingsley, sure that he would find her before she got on the train.

Behind her, there was a commotion.

Amara tensed up; she was so on edge that she could almost hear Kingsley's breathing in the crowd. The familiar woody scent of his cologne surrounded her.

Amara looked up; she had been crying, her eyes and brows tinged with a faint pink.

She had shared intimate moments with him, and her once innocent face now had a hint of mature woman's charm.

The place went quiet as everyone turned to look at Kingsley, who had this noble aura about him. But right now, he was glaring at Amara.

"Kingsley!" Amara said softly.

Then, Kingsley grabbed her arm so roughly that it immediately turned red.

No one dared to stop him. Kingsley had about ten black-clad bodyguards with him, each looking pretty intimidating.

Kingsley's car was parked right outside the station.

A sleek, eight-seater business car with dark tinted windows pulled up, making it impossible to see inside.

Amara was shoved into the back row.

Kingsley sat next to her, his face like stone, radiating coldness.

Even though Amara had braced herself, she could barely handle it.

The car started moving. Amara leaned against the seat, her small frame curled up, lost in her thoughts.

She didn't ask him why. They both knew the answer.

Kingsley ignored her, slowly unbuttoning his shirt cuffs, then stared out the window in silence.

The car made its way back to the five-star hotel.

At the hotel entrance, employees of the Hawkins Group were getting ready to board a bus back to Syeattel. As they were getting on, they saw the business car pull up, and then Kingsley dragged Amara out. The vibe was way off. They were stunned. Weren't Kingsley and Amara super close? Why was he being so rough with her now?

Seeing the bodyguards carrying the luggage, they got the hint that Amara had ditched Kingsley again.

Kingsley didn't care about the stares; he took Amara straight back to the hotel room. After the bodyguards brought in the luggage, they stood guard outside the door.

The door closed softly, and Amara stood there, dazed.

After a moment, she seemed to snap out of it and said softly, "I'm sorry. I'll return the watch to you! Forgive me, and I won't show up in front of you again."

Her voice was gentle, but it only made him angrier.

Kingsley stared at her for a long time, then slowly walked to the bar, poured himself a glass of ice water, and drank most of it to calm down. Afterward, he stared at the glass and said lightly, "I thought you'd explain. Is that all you have to say?"

Amara tilted her head slightly, trying to keep the tears from falling.

Kingsley turned his head, his sharp profile quietly scrutinizing her.

Suddenly, he threw the glass against the opposite wall.

The sound of shattering was like breaking their past happiness.

He quickly walked over, pushed her onto the sofa, half-kneeling, and pulled the letter from his pocket, throwing it in her face. His expression was mocking. "If you didn't like me, why did you sleep with me? Why didn't you say you liked Ralph then?"

Amara felt utterly humiliated.

Her life had been bleak, but today was the most painful day of her life.

Kingsley stared into her eyes.

He straightened up a bit, pulled out his phone, and his voice was so cold it sent chills down her spine. "I'll show you what kind of person Ralph really is. If you still say you like him after that, then you're just being pathetic!"

Kingsley had deleted that video a long time ago.

He hated doing stuff like this, but Amara had pushed him too far.

When Kingsley retrieved the video from the trash on his phone and played it in front of Amara, he cranked the volume up, forcing her to witness Ralph's disgraceful behavior.

Amara didn't care about Ralph, but right now, she was being humiliated by Kingsley.

She refused to look, closing her eyes. "No! I don't want to see it!"

Kingsley laughed coldly. "Liking him means accepting all of him. Are you afraid of seeing him with another woman and feeling disgusted? But you've slept with me too!"

Amara collapsed weakly under him, crying and repeatedly saying sorry, begging him to let her go.

He wanted to make her happy and have kids together. He never thought he would lose to Ralph or that she was with him for his money. He wanted her to explain and beg for forgiveness, but all he got was endless apologies.

Amara, with trembling hands, took out the expensive watch. "I'll return the watch to you; please let me go!"

Kingsley stared at her, sneering. "What do I need a watch for!"

He suddenly stood up and started rummaging through her luggage. Amara panicked and ran over to grab his hand. "What are you looking for? Can't we part on good terms? I'm begging you to let me go!"

Her documents ended up in his hands.

In the ID photo, Amara looked pure and beautiful, her eyes clear.

Kingsley stared at it for a long time, then looked at her, his eyes deepening. He said, "We're going to get married now."

Amara was stunned.

"You don't want to?" Kingsley asked blankly.

Amara let go of his hand and stepped back, finally leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window. Behind her was the bustling city of Stellaria, but her heart was ice-cold.

She suddenly wanted to cry.

She didn't know if she was crying for herself or pitying Kingsley.

A man like him could have anything he wanted; why insist on her? Her background would only bring him disgrace and endless trouble. The Graham Family wouldn't let her go.

Only now did she understand why the Graham Family wanted her to marry Ralph; he must have been ruined.

Amara choked up. "Kingsley, I don't love you!"

Her body seemed to gain strength, and she shouted at him, "I don't love you! Do you think you can get everything you want just because you have power? Do you know how annoying your arrogance is? Even if Ralph is unworthy, I believe he was forced into it, and I will always love him! We're not even in the same league. How could we ever be together? I was just playing with your feelings."

After she finished, her chest heaved violently, her heart aching.

She thought he would leave, slap her, and then walk away without looking back!

That would be good; at least he wouldn't be tainted.

But Kingsley just quietly watched her.

Amara didn't avoid his gaze, murmuring again, "I've never liked you! Everything was a lie. Your affection never moved me. Every time we made love, I felt nothing but had to pretend to enjoy it! From the first day I joined the company, I was deceiving you! Even my first time having sex was intentionally saved. Don't think a woman's first time is worthless. Didn't I take your watch? It was worth four million dollars. Too bad you found me."

Her tears clung to her eyelashes, trembling lightly.

She forced herself to say those heartless words.

Kingsley slowly walked towards her, stopping a step away.

Amara's face pressed against the cold glass.

He gently touched her face, his voice very soft but cold enough.

The watch fell into her pocket.

He moved closer, his face pressing against hers, mockingly saying, "Since you've sold yourself to me once, why not do it again? You may not enjoy it, but I do. After all, someone like you suits me well."

Amara's body trembled.

Kingsley stepped away from her, coldly commanding, "Now, go clean yourself and lie on the bed!"

She didn't even have the right to say no.

If this could make him hate her, she was willing to do anything, even if it meant losing her dignity.

Amara silently moved towards the room, but she was stopped by him.

Kingsley grabbed her arm, sneering. "Undress here. I want to see just how low you can go!"

"Kingsley!" Amara looked up, almost crying again.

Kingsley shook off her hand, slowly taking out a cigarette from his pocket. After lighting it and taking a puff, he said, "You don't get to call me that."

Amara could barely stand, but Kingsley showed no pity.

Finally, under his gaze, Amara slowly unbuttoned her clothes, the sweeter memories of their past amplifying her present humiliation.
