Chapter 769 Johnny, I'll Move Back on Saturday!

Lola took some hemostatic medicine on her way home.

The wound looked nasty, but it wasn't serious. By the time she got home, the bleeding had stopped.

The Hawkins Mansion was quiet.

Frederick was sitting on the couch in the first-floor living room, flipping through a financial magazine, but it was clear he wasn't really reading it.

Lola came in through the foyer, and Frederick looked up at her, his gaze falling on her wrist.

"What happened?"

Frederick's voice was gentle as he called Lola over. Even though she was already a mother of three, in Frederick's heart, she was still the little girl who would climb onto his knee in the middle of the night to hear fairy tales.

Lola shook her head lightly. "Dad, I'm fine."

"Fine? Your face says otherwise... Did you find out about Johnny?"

Lola blinked slowly, looking a bit confused.

Frederick didn't push her.

He got up and fetched the first aid kit, tending to Lola's wound despite her protests. "Hold still," he said firmly.

As he bandaged her, Frederick asked, "Now that you know, what are you going to do? Are you going to get yourself involved again to repay him? Lola, I know you grew up together, and that bond isn't easily broken. Moreover, he sacrificed a leg for you. But I want you to follow your heart. If you want to repay him, there are many ways to do that. The one thing you should never do is repay kindness with love and marriage."

Lola knew all this.

She listened quietly, then remained silent for a long time.

Finally, she said softly, "Dad, I don't know what the outcome will be this time, but I know that if I don't go, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. And I won't let him run away either."

She could tell that Johnny still had feelings for her. He was just too proud.

He was afraid she would pity him.

But her feelings for Johnny were never about pity or repayment.

If she had to find an answer, perhaps "heartache" was more accurate.

Frederick didn't stop her. After that car accident, he knew Johnny wouldn't hurt Lola again. As for their relationship, that was up to them.

Men understand men best.

Frederick suspected that even if Lola had a change of heart, Johnny might not accept it. He was such a proud person.

After the bandaging was done, Lola went upstairs.

Frederick was about to ask the maid for more coffee when he saw Charlotte standing in the foyer. He was taken aback. "Why are you back so suddenly?"

Then he asked, "Did you hear everything?"

Charlotte said, "Yes," and walked into the living room, looking up towards the stairs.

Frederick had been married to her for decades; he knew she was worried about Lola.

He put his arm around Charlotte and said gently, "They both have wounds in their hearts. Let's give them a chance to heal. After everything they've been through, they should be more mature about their feelings."

Charlotte was silent for a long time before she said, "Did she lie to us when she said she found a new boyfriend?"

Frederick thought, "My silly wife, you're just realizing this now?"

The next day, Johnny was in a bad mood, so he decided to work from home instead of going to the office.

In the afternoon, Johnny took a nap.

He woke up to some noise downstairs like something heavy being dragged. It sounded like someone was moving in.

Moving in?

Lola... was she here?

Johnny got up immediately, threw on a robe, and slowly made his way downstairs, leaning against the wall. But he didn't see Lola. Instead, he saw several young people in moving company uniforms, carrying various pieces of luggage into the living room. The maids looked troubled, circling them.

When Johnny came down, Jody finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Flores, we don't know how, but these things were delivered here. We don't know who sent them. What should we do?"

Johnny looked at the luggage. Even though it was understated, it was clear they were all designer brands.

No doubt, these were from Lola.

What was she trying to do?

Johnny pulled out his wallet from his briefcase and took out about ten thousand dollars, handing it to the movers. "Take these things back."

People who worked for a living couldn't refuse money.

But these movers had already been paid by Lola, and they didn't dare take double. "Mr. Flores, we can't decide that. Miss Hawkins said to leave these here. If you don't want them, you can throw them away. We just need you to sign so we can report back."

Johnny was furious.

Lola was using her usual tricks on him, wasn't she?

He couldn't argue with the movers, so he quickly signed the receipt. After they left, he called Lola, but no one answered for a long time.

Over the past year, Johnny's temper had mellowed considerably.

But now, he was very angry.

He kept calling Lola until she finally picked up, her voice calm. "What's up?"

"What's up?"

Johnny glanced at the luggage and spoke softly, "What do you mean by sending all this stuff over? I thought I made it clear yesterday. I don't need your pity or your repayment. Our relationship is over, and we have nothing to do with each other anymore!"

"Lola, take this stuff back."

On the other end, Lola was silent for a moment, then she chuckled softly. "Take it back? No way! Johnny, if it bothers you, just throw it away."

"You think I won't?"

"Of course... you will! Go ahead and throw it away!"

Lola hung up, and Johnny stared at the phone, wanting to curse.

He threw the phone onto the couch and pointed at the luggage. "Throw all this out!"

The maids hesitated. Jody stammered, "But these are Mrs. Flores' things. If we throw them out, Mrs. Flores... won't be happy."

Not happy?

She was practically moving in, and he was supposed to care if she was happy.

Johnny couldn't let her move in.

His face was cold. "Now, immediately, throw them out!"

The maids, who were paid by him, didn't dare disobey. They started moving the luggage out. Johnny's voice followed them, "Throw it outside the yard."

Jody and the others agreed.

But Jody was nervous and accidentally tripped, spilling the contents of one of the bags... It wasn't women's items, but baby things.

Pink floral diapers, bottles, and various cute baby toys, each one adorable which were Stella's things.

Johnny's throat tightened as he watched.

Jody, afraid of upsetting him, quickly gathered the items and stuffed them back into the bag, preparing to throw them out of the villa. But just as she finished, Johnny's hoarse voice stopped her, "Leave it!"

Jody was confused.

Johnny's voice softened even more. "Leave it. You can go now."

Jody and the others couldn't read his mind or understand his temperament, so they quickly left when he said that.

In the large hall, only Johnny remained.

He stared at the luggage, his eyes growing moist before he carefully walked over.

He unzipped the bags and took out the cute little items, examining each one.

They seemed to still carry Stella's scent.

Johnny's lips trembled. He thought Lola must have done this on purpose. She knew what he was thinking; she knew his weaknesses!

She was so infuriating!

Johnny looked at each item, then put them back one by one.

Despite his leg's inconvenience, he carried the luggage upstairs, dragging it to the nursery, slowly filling the long-empty room.

In the following days, Lola sent more things over, again through the moving company.

Each time, Johnny carried them upstairs, including Lola's belongings.

.

As days passed, Johnny grew anxious, waiting for Lola to show up so he could tell her there was no hope and to take her things back. But a week went by, and Lola never appeared.

Not even a phone call.

Finally, at a public social event, Johnny saw Lola.

The moment he saw her.

He admitted, even after all these years, even after being married for so long. She still took his breath away.

It was a business cocktail party, and she wore a dark mermaid dress. Her tall, slender figure looked stunning, even with just light makeup and no expensive jewelry.

Johnny held a glass of red wine, his eyes fixed on her.

Only adults could see that his gaze carried a hint of lewdness and possessiveness, though he hid it well.

Lola noticed that but pretended not to. She even greeted him warmly, "Mr. Flores, you seem to be in a good mood today."

Johnny's eyes remained on her, and he gave a faint smile. "If Ms. Hawkins could move her things out of my place, I'd be in an even better mood."

Lola raised her glass slightly. "Sorry, I have no intention of moving them."

Johnny's Adam's apple bobbed. "Lola, what do you mean?"

Lola leaned against the back of the sofa, her posture and expression lazy and seductive. "Can't you tell? If Mr. Flores still can't see it, I don't mind explaining. I plan to move in this Saturday, with the kids."

Johnny glared at her.

He knew that in such a setting, people would be watching them.

He should maintain a good interaction with her to avoid being a laughingstock.

But she was infuriating.

Johnny sneered, "How interesting! Ms. Hawkins wants to move in with me. Did you ask for my permission? Or are you just missing me? Haven't found a man to satisfy you lately? If you're really in need, I can help you find one!"

His words were flippant and nasty, meant to drive her away, hopefully for good.

Lola knew this.

But she still raised her hand and gently slapped his cheek, a light touch that felt more affectionate than painful.

She caressed his handsome face, her red lips parting slightly, her voice sultry.

"Johnny, don't say things like that anymore."

"Let's not say hurtful things to each other."

Her gaze was tender, and she was stunningly beautiful.

Johnny almost couldn't resist. Lola was always a temptation to him, especially now that she was being so forward, practically throwing herself into his arms.

He knew that if he agreed, she would be tender and loving, and he could get what he wanted. But how could he? How could he, in his current state, be worthy of her?

Lola was still radiant, still dazzling. While his body was broken, so ugly that even he couldn't stand it.

Johnny looked at her. He grabbed Lola's hand and gently moved it away. When he spoke again, his voice was cold. "Ms. Hawkins, please have some self-respect. I have a girlfriend now!"

"Really?"

Lola gazed into his eyes as if she could see through everything.

Johnny fled.

He left the business event early, slumping into his car seat, not wanting to move. His whole body ached, especially his left leg.

Felicity, unaware of what had happened, asked softly, "Mr. Flores, weren't you waiting for a client? Why leave early?"

Johnny had no mind for business.

He closed his eyes and spoke quietly, "We'll meet next time. Prepare a villa for me. Call Tracy and tell her she can make demands, but not to be too greedy. My patience is limited."

Felicity looked shocked.

She was smart and quickly pieced things together.

Jody had told her that Lola had moved her things in.

Rekindling an old romance was a good thing!

So why was Johnny so scared?

Felicity forced a smile and advised, "Maybe you should reconsider? Ms. Hawkins might not care about your condition. Besides, you have a chance to recover."

Johnny didn't respond.

He knew that Felicity didn't understand the intimate details of his relationship with Lola.

They couldn't be a normal couple anymore. Relying on just a bit of affection, how long could they really last?

Felicity waited for a long time, but Johnny didn't change his mind.

She had no choice but to handle things for him.

So when Lola came over on Saturday, Johnny had already moved out on Friday. It was raining that day, and he left in a particularly sorry state. As Kingsley put it, he looked like a stray dog.

Kingsley and Gavin had a good laugh.

The Hawkins family car pulled up, and Angelina and Austin jumped out, heading straight to their rooms to study without even knocking. Lola carried Stella out and asked the maid, "Where's Johnny?"

The maid couldn't explain.

Lola chuckled lightly. It seemed Johnny had run away to avoid her.

She settled the kids, handed Stella to the nanny, and called Felicity to find out where Johnny was. Felicity, hoping they would get back together, leaked a bit of information before quickly hanging up.

Lola understood.

She smiled and sent Johnny a message: ["I'll come get you soon!]
