Chapter 60 Charlotte Will Attend the Reunion on Time

Lily was floored but still picked up the phone. Frederick's voice came through, deep and a bit raspy. "Why aren't you home? Where'd you go?"

Lily glanced at Charlotte, thinking, 'Charlotte was right! No wonder William's suddenly fine and Ethan's in deep trouble. It's all Frederick's doing. A top lawyer stepping in for a woman. Impressive.'

Lily knew how to play her cards. She softened her voice, "Mr. Hawkins, it's Lily! Charlotte's college friend. We've met. Yeah, she's with me. She's really upset, crying and making a scene, and she's had a lot to drink."

Frederick had just gotten home. He stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, casually loosening his tie—simple yet elegant and attractive.

Hearing Lily's account, he frowned. "Drinking? What happened to her?"

Lily sighed, spinning a tale. "Mr. Hawkins, are you really clueless or just pretending? Charlotte's got deep feelings for you and has completely fallen out with Ethan! And Ethan's old flame, our classmate and Charlotte's colleague, has been spreading rumors about her. Charlotte loves kids, and she's really upset."

Mixing truth with lies, Lily's voice almost broke by the end. That relationship had hurt Charlotte deeply.

Frederick was silent for a long time. Lily realized she might've slipped up, exposing Ethan's scandal. Would this backfire on Charlotte?

She was worried when Frederick spoke, "Where are you?"

Lily quickly gave the address, not daring to ask more.

After hanging up, Lily's expression was complicated. She had helped Charlotte before, but never thought Charlotte could win over someone as unattainable as Frederick in Seattle!

Recently, an actress had accompanied him to a banquet, thinking she had a shot at marrying into wealth. She didn't even get his business card and became a laughingstock in the entertainment circle!

Lily gently pinched Charlotte's cheek, smiling like a proud mom. "You're impressive!"

Not using such resources would be foolish! Lily immediately called the alumni association contact. "Charlotte and I will both attend next Saturday's reunion. Yes! Charlotte is coming too! Why wouldn't she? The innocent have nothing to fear!"

After that, Lily happily put down her phone. Many people wanted to see Charlotte's downfall. 'Let them be happy for a few days and then scare them to death!' she thought.

Lily was feeling smug when Frederick arrived.

He was still in his formal work attire, a light gray shirt and black trousers. His chest muscles were well-defined, and his waist was slim. The physique was great.

Maybe his aura was too strong, the surrounding music seemed to lower, and everyone's eyes were on him.

Frederick was used to being the center of attention and didn't care at all.

He found Lily and Charlotte. Lily was sober, and Charlotte was asleep, leaning against the table.

In the noisy bar, surrounded by sweat and hormones, Charlotte's small face glowed white even in the dark, and her mint green dress made her look even cleaner.

Frederick nodded at Lily and bent down to pick up Charlotte.

Charlotte woke up startled. She opened her eyes, looking as helpless as a frightened little rabbit.

"You were bold," Frederick said, his tone not very pleasant.
