Chapter 448 Her Compromise with Him!
Andrew hung up the phone. Gregory leaned in and patted his shoulder, "I'm really sorry! How about I ask her out later, and you can make it up to her?"
Andrew looked up at the night sky. The night was adorned with a layer of glaze, very beautiful. But Chloe was even more beautiful than the night.
He turned back to grab his coat and car keys, ready to leave. Gregory and the others got a bit anxious, "Stay a bit longer!"
Andrew smiled faintly. "She's still angry! Can I really just let it go?"
Gregory laughed. He nudged Andrew with his shoulder, "Come on, make it up to her! She did give you two kids!"
Andrew's smile faded even more. As he left, he didn't look at Grace.
Grace and he had long lost their personal connection, but in her heart, Andrew was still the most significant man, and she couldn't help but feel a bit down.
Gregory wandered back. He smiled and said, "Feelings are the strangest thing! Clearly, you're not worse than anyone else, but you're just missing that bit of fate! Andrew's always scheming with people, someone like Chloe suits him."
Grace's eyes turned slightly red. She was just sentimental.
As Andrew expected, Chloe had gone to Frederick and Charlotte's house.
Charlotte rarely worked. She managed the villa well.
At night, the yard was still filled with fragrance.
Chloe wasn't in the mood to appreciate it, and she even lost her composure in front of the kids, her eyes red.
Lola didn't want to practice piano. She came over and hugged Chloe's arm, softly comforting her, "Did Andrew make you mad?"
Being called out by a child, Chloe felt a bit embarrassed.
Charlotte smacked Lola's butt.
Frederick came down from the second floor. Even at home, he dressed impeccably, always exuding an air of nobility. He stood in the middle of the stairs, looking at Chloe. He was scrutinizing her with his gaze.
Charlotte couldn't stand his stern look and said softly, "I'll talk to Chloe. You take care of the kids."
But Frederick said, "I'll talk to her." He gave Chloe a look.
Chloe had been afraid of him since she was little, pursed her lips, and looked pitifully at Charlotte.
Charlotte was helpless. Ever since Frederick got that "psychological condition," he ruled the house, and she didn't dare to offend him easily.
Chloe had no choice but to follow him upstairs. She was dejected.
Lola covered her little mouth, exclaiming, "Daddy is so powerful!"
Frederick suddenly turned around, not looking at Lola but at Charlotte.
Charlotte's face turned a bit red, and she said to Lola, "Keep it down!"
But Lola didn't listen! She was just speaking the truth.
The Hawkins siblings reached the study on the second floor. Frederick let her sit on the sofa while he went to get a cup of water.
Frederick had always known about Chloe and Andrew. He had also heard from Charlotte about what happened tonight. He found it both infuriating and amusing.
He poured a glass of water and placed it in front of Chloe, then sat down beside her, casually asking, "Are you mad?"
Chloe refused to admit it, "I'm not!"
Frederick reached out and touched her head, said gently, "If you're not, then why are your nose and eyes all red?"
The more he acted like this, the more she wanted to cry. After all, they were siblings, and many things could be said.
Chloe spoke softly, "I'm not mad! I just remembered the past."
Lately, with Andrew chasing after her, she had forgotten his past flings. She had overestimated herself! She also knew she shouldn't lose her temper. She and Andrew had broken up, and whoever Andrew dated was his business. But she was still sad.
Chloe leaned lightly on the sofa, looking helpless.
Frederick lowered his voice, "You still like him!" Frederick smiled gently, "Don't be in a hurry to deny it, Chloe! Actually, Charlotte and I couldn't find a reason for you two to get back together, so all this time, we've never said a good word for Andrew! But Chloe, if you must find a reason, it's that you still like him!"
Liking someone didn't need a reason; it made you lose your mind and do things that didn't seem worth it after weighing the pros and cons.
Chloe was slightly stunned.
Frederick patted her head like a little pet, "Whenever something goes wrong, you come crying to us. You're not even as good as Lola! Even someone as proud as Johnny was brought back by her."
Chloe felt embarrassed and lowered her face.
Frederick gently hugged her shoulders and said very softly, "If you like him, go for it! Not for anyone else, but for yourself!"
Chloe was dazed, "I thought you were the last person who wanted me to be with him."
Frederick smiled, "So what! You like him!"
Just then, the study door opened. Charlotte came in with a fruit platter, just in time to see the siblings being close. She glanced at Frederick. Frederick smiled.
Charlotte put down the fruit and gently patted Chloe's head, "Andrew is here, he wants to see you!"
Chloe wasn't prepared. Even with Frederick's comfort, she still hadn't made up her mind.
Frederick pulled her up, "Go see him! Otherwise, it'll always be a burden on your mind."
Chloe went downstairs.
Frederick didn't follow her down but kept Charlotte in the study. He locked the door, then turned back and leaned on the sofa behind Charlotte, his face close to hers and his voice warm, "Were you mad just now?"
Charlotte was just about to bring it up. She played with his shirt buttons and admitted, "Yes, I was mad! How are you going to make it up to me?"
Frederick chuckled. If it weren't for the guests at home and the kids not being asleep. He would definitely do it and make her cry.
Frederick only kissed her deeply and lightly for a long time, finally saying in a hoarse voice, "Charlotte, don't expect to sleep tonight!"
Charlotte's face rested against his neck. The skin there was exceptionally warm, and the artery was pulsing strongly. It had a pure masculine tension. She couldn't help but gently stroke it. Frederick's gaze deepened and thought, 'She's got the courage to spark my fire!'
Downstairs, Andrew arrived, and Lola immediately started bustling around him. She served him water, fetched his shoes, and even massaged his calves.
Andrew picked her up to sit beside him, couldn't help but pat the little one's head. Chloe came down from upstairs and saw this scene, which was completely different from his flirtatious demeanor at the club.
Andrew heard footsteps. He looked up at her, and at this moment, there was no longer any tension between them. It was quite calm.
With several kids around, Chloe didn't want to talk to him here. She asked softly, "Did you drive?"
Andrew nodded.
She lowered her eyes, "Let's take your car. I'm a bit hungry."
Andrew was naturally willing. As he got up, Lola was still clinging to his leg. He gently said, "I'll come back to see you next time."
He left with Chloe. When they got in the car, Andrew was actually quite surprised. Chloe, though simple, had a bit of a temper. She was so angry earlier tonight, yet now she was so calm and even willing to join him for a meal. But Andrew wouldn't miss such an opportunity. He fastened his seatbelt and looked at her, "What do you want to eat?"
Chloe was playing with her phone, looking quite indifferent, "Gavin said the restaurant you took him to last time was pretty good. Let's go there."
Andrew laughed, "It suits you! You're always talking about dieting!"
In fact, she wasn't fat at all. On the contrary, Chloe had a great figure, tall with long legs.
He set the GPS and focused on driving. Neither of them mentioned the incident with Grace at the club, and Chloe thought he would just let it go since it was unpleasant.
But when the car stopped at the restaurant. Andrew said softly, "Chloe, there's nothing between her and me anymore! Today, the atmosphere was just good, and she got close. I didn't keep my distance! If that made you uncomfortable, I promise I won't go to such social events in the future!"
Chloe felt uneasy and a bit embarrassed. She wasn't anything to him now, and she had no right to demand his fidelity. She vaguely said, "You decide for yourself." After saying that, she wanted to get out of the car.
But Andrew held her shoulder, looking at her slightly red eyes, and said softly, "I'm serious! Chloe, I'm sorry, I made you sad again! Adeline always says, no matter the reason, if you are sad and cry, it's because I didn't do well!"
Chloe bit her lip. She wanted to retort, to say something harsh. But Andrew was so gentle at this moment. They had finally reached such a peaceful state, and Frederick's words had an effect.
She looked up at him. She remembered Andrew saying last time that he wasn't young anymore! He was afraid of running out of time!
Chloe's lips began to tremble, and after a long time, she said, "We..." She felt really embarrassed.
Andrew understood women. Chloe only said a few words, but her tone was full of helpless compromise. How could he let her feel embarrassed? He should have a man's grace, and besides, it was all his fault.
He didn't let her finish but gently brushed her hair aside, "I've made a reservation. If we don't go, the restaurant will close."
Chloe nodded before getting out of the car, and Andrew kissed her. She was caught off guard. Her eyes widened, looking at his handsome face up close.
The car was very dark. Andrew wore a pair of thin gold-rimmed glasses, looking refined and noble.
In matters of romance, he knew much more than she did. Andrew was quite adept at kissing. He gently held her head, his blue eyes gazing at her with deep affection before he kissed her. That wet and soft thing stirring inside her lips.
In just a few seconds, it felt like her whole body was electrified. Chloe hadn't felt this way in a long time. The last time they spent a night together, she was drunk and didn't remember many details. But this moment felt so real.
Andrew's warm hand gently touched her slender waist.
Chloe suddenly grabbed his black hair, her voice breaking, "Andrew, don't!"
Andrew seemed not to hear. The kiss was intense and lingering. When it ended, she was entirely in his arms, listening to his heartbeat through the thin fabric of his shirt.
Andrew pressed his forehead against hers. He was equally excited. But men and women are different; men always have thicker skin.
Andrew gently stroked her back and said softly, "You're going to pull all of my hair out!"
Chloe's eyes were filled with tears. She didn't speak, just lowered her eyes.
Andrew sensed she was at an emotional turning point, and this moment was crucial. He missed her so much that he simply pulled her into his lap.
The car was a luxury model, with a spacious driver's seat.
She was forced to sit sideways on his lap, like holding a child. Andrew even took a candy from his coat pocket and fed it to her.
Chloe remained silent.
Andrew pulled her head down and kissed her again. "Aren't you worried the restaurant will close?"
Andrew's gaze was deep, his voice hoarse, "If it closes, I'll cook for you myself! Chloe, how about going to Broadway?"
She looked up at him.
Andrew gently touched her cheek, "I'll cook for you!"
She didn't object, so Andrew knew she agreed. But he didn't start the car immediately; instead, he kissed her for a long time.
By the time they arrived, it was already 10 PM. Andrew was very proper. He asked her to sit on the sofa, cut some fruit for her, and handed her a tablet to watch shows. He went to the kitchen himself.
Chloe didn't know if her decision was right or wrong, but she was already here and couldn't be pretentious. She leaned on the sofa watching shows, occasionally glancing at Andrew.
His physique was well-maintained. At his age, he looked the same as when they first met. Chloe stared blankly.
Andrew brought out some milk, seeing her dazed look, and gently pinched her cheek, "Have some milk."
But she refused to drink. "Having candy, milk, and then a meal, I'll get fat." She thought Andrew would say she wasn't fat. But he looked at her deeply, with a good temper, "Worried about not looking good on camera? I'll make low-calorie nutritious meals for you in the future."
Chloe pursed her lips and gave a slight smile.
Andrew leaned down and kissed her lightly, his voice soft, "I really want to sleep with you! But not tonight!"
Chloe watched him cook, feeling like she was back in the past.
Andrew wore a white shirt and iron-gray trousers. The shirt was neatly tucked into his waist, which was particularly slim and perfect for a woman's embrace.
She wasn't a naive girl anymore. Coming here, she felt, was giving Andrew a hint, and she wanted to make things clear. She walked over and gently hugged him from behind.
Andrew's body stiffened slightly, then he smiled gently, "Just a little longer, are you hungry?"
Her face pressed against his back, "Andrew! What's your take on our relationship this time? Who am I to you?"
He hummed. "How about 'girlfriend'? I'm on probation, and you can kick me out if you're not satisfied!"
Chloe felt like crying. She still leaned against his gentle back, whispering, "During the probation period, I won't go on dates, and you can't get close to anyone else, Grace, or any married woman, you understand?"
Andrew laughed, "Alright! I have a girlfriend now!"
Silence from behind. After a long time, he felt a wetness on his back. Andrew held her hand. His voice was hoarse, "Don't cry, Chloe!"
