Chapter 113: Let Me Tell you, It's Me
After Robert spoke, the room went dead silent.
Someone nudged him. "Robert, shut up! Go get Lily back. Let's not hold a grudge."
Robert was drunk.
He stubbornly said, "I just messed around with one woman. Lily didn't dare to object, so why should Charlotte scold me? Who's backing her?"
The room got even quieter.
Frederick chuckled softly in the silence.
He wiped his mouth with a napkin and stood up. "I'm outta here!"
Someone tried to stop him, "Mr. Hawkins, don't go. Robert's drunk and offended you. How about he drinks three glasses as a penalty and we let it go?"
Frederick smiled coolly.
He looked at the now sober Robert and said, "You asked who's backing Charlotte. It's me! Charlotte is my woman. I haven't even raised my voice at her, and who are you to boss me around?"
Robert was stunned.
Frederick's smile turned cold, "I wasn't even planning to come, but because Charlotte and Lily are friends, I showed up out of respect! Fine, if you won't get her, I'll help you send Lily home."
With that, Frederick left.
After he left, the room stayed silent for a long time. Someone patted Robert on the shoulder. "Go apologize to Frederick! Robert, no matter how wild the women outside are, they're just for fun, not serious relationships! Tina has a bad reputation, don't do anything stupid, or you'll be laughed at."
Robert wiped his face.
Now completely sober, he hesitated before asking, "What about Frederick and Charlotte?"
It should just be for fun, right?
Frederick was known as a workaholic who didn't want to get married. He didn't believe Charlotte could win Frederick over.
Others laughed.
"Whether Frederick and Charlotte will get married is another matter, but it's clear he cares about her! Have you ever seen Frederick embarrass anyone in public? Have you ever seen Frederick show a woman respect like this? No, right? So Robert, congrats! You've pissed off the wrong woman."
Before they finished, Robert had already run out.
He found Charlotte and Lily at a club.
He didn't see Frederick.
Robert was furious!
He'd been tricked!
But since he was there, he couldn't just leave his wife behind. Robert walked over and patted Lily on the shoulder. "Why couldn't you tell me at home? Why embarrass me in front of friends?"
Lily was washing her face.
When she heard Robert's voice, her body stiffened.
Robert awkwardly said, "I told you, it's just for fun! Your status won't change."
Lily, with red eyes, slowly finished washing her hands.
She calmly said, "Let's talk at home. I don't want to embarrass myself in front of my friends."
Charlotte was worried about her.
Lily smiled bitterly. "Charlotte, just don't look down on me. Have a meal with me when you have time."
Charlotte felt sad hearing this.
She wanted to tell Robert to treat Lily better, but she couldn't bring herself to say it.
After repeatedly cheating, how good could he be?
Charlotte drove back.
She was in a bad mood and sat in the car for a long time before going up to her apartment.
It was only 9 PM, and Frederick was already back.
He was sitting on the sofa watching TV, seemingly waiting for her.
Charlotte raised her eyebrows and looked at him.
Frederick patted the spot next to him. "Ms. Russell, what's wrong?"
Charlotte went over and leaned against him, looking very obedient.
Frederick had overheard her talking on Robert's phone. He found Charlotte fascinating—flustered and blushing around him, but fierce when scolding Robert.
He liked it a lot.
Originally, he had planned to wait until Saturday to celebrate her birthday and then sleep with her.
But now he really wanted her.
He pressed Charlotte onto the sofa and kissed her. At first, she resisted, but Frederick knew her body well and easily aroused her.
Their clothes ended up scattered everywhere.
Charlotte's eyes were filled with emotion, and she got excited.
Frederick especially liked her like this, his interest incredibly high.
Just as things were heating up, Frederick's phone rang.
The phone kept ringing, but Frederick ignored it. Charlotte, however, couldn't focus. She gently pushed him. "The call."
"Ignore it!" Frederick kissed her, the kiss growing deeper.
The phone stopped ringing but started again persistently after a while.
Charlotte kissed his lips. "Answer the phone, we'll continue later!"
Frederick's gaze was deep. He stared at her for a long time before letting her go and answering, "Mr. Mitchell, this is Frederick speaking."
Charlotte put on his shirt and went back to the master bedroom.
But after a few steps, Frederick caught her. He wrapped an arm around her waist, his hand roaming over her body nonchalantly. Charlotte couldn't take it and fell into his arms.
Frederick looked down at her.
He was already handsome, and at this moment, he had the charm of a mature man. Charlotte couldn't help but kiss his chin, feeling a slight sting from his stubble.
Frederick stared at her while talking to Elijah.
Elijah's voice was excited.
He said, "I've found that jewelry middleman! Once I find him, it won't be hard to find my child."
Frederick gently stroked Charlotte's lips, smiling faintly. "Congratulations, Mr. Mitchell."
Elijah sighed softly.
His mood dropped again. "Unfortunately, the guy had a car accident a few days ago and is still in a coma. Frederick, I'm really afraid he'll stay in a coma forever. If that happens, I might never find Victoria or my child."
Frederick took a deep breath.
Charlotte gently bit his finger.
His gaze deepened.
On the other end of the phone, Elijah frowned. "Frederick, what's wrong?"
Frederick chuckled lightly, "Got bitten by a cat! Mr. Mitchell, don't worry. I'll find the right experts to treat him, so he can recover soon and fulfill your wish."
Talking about this, Elijah sighed again.
He said, "It's been so many years, I don't even know if she's married! Frederick, I just want to see her once, to know if she's doing well, and to see our child. I feel like it's a girl. Frederick, are you listening?"
Frederick was being teased by Charlotte, he couldn't hold back.
He suppressed it, breathing lightly. "Yeah, Mr. Mitchell!"
Elijah talked to himself, "That child must be around 24 now, old enough to start talking about tying the knot."
Frederick was teasing Charlotte in his arms, finding it very amusing, and still managed to comfort Elijah, "Mr. Mitchell, that girl must be beautiful and have a bright future. She might even be married with children by now."
Elijah felt much comforted.
He sighed softly, "I've been worried these days, what if she meets a jerk? Frederick, what you said makes me feel better."
"Frederick, are you listening?"
"Frederick?"
