Chapter 108: Caught Them Red-handed

Charlotte slammed the car door shut, her eyes red with anger as she glared at Tina.

Tina eyed the red sports car and smirked, "Charlotte, do you think you're better than me? We both rely on men, so who's really more honorable?"

Charlotte sneered back, "So you think ruining someone else's happiness is okay and you feel no guilt?"

Tina laughed, "Let's grab a coffee, Charlotte. I've been wanting to talk."

Charlotte didn't want to, but for Lily's sake, she agreed.

In the coffee shop, Charlotte stayed silent, afraid she'd throw her coffee at Tina if she spoke first.

Tina, on the other hand, had plenty to say. She sipped her coffee and smiled, "Don't think I just started seeing Robert. We were together back in college."

Charlotte was shocked and furious.

Tina stirred her coffee, raising an eyebrow, "Remember that Christmas party when Robert came for Lily? He was handsome, rich, and generous. That night, I slept with him, and he gave me an iPhone!"

Tina continued, "We had a stable thing going. Whenever Lily was on her period, I'd be with Robert. He even paid for most of my college tuition."

Charlotte felt her blood run cold. She could hardly believe it.

After a moment, she gritted her teeth, "Weren't you in love with Ethan back then? How did you end up with Robert?"

Tina laughed, "Charlotte, you're so naive! Liking Ethan didn't stop me from being with Robert. And I got stories about Ethan too. Want to hear about it?"

Charlotte thought Tina was shameless. "I don't want to hear it," she said coldly.

Tina was stunned, not expecting Charlotte's disinterest. As Charlotte stood to leave, Tina grabbed her with surprising strength.

Charlotte frowned.

Tina's mask finally fell. She snarled, "You say you don't care! But you claimed to love Ethan, went to great lengths to be his girlfriend, then discarded him. I was proud to date him! When Ethan fought for you, went to jail, got drunk for you, did you ever feel sorry? I did!"

Charlotte remained unmoved. She smiled faintly, "Tina, you should be sorry."

Tina slumped back into her seat. Charlotte left a $100 bill on the table and walked out.

In her car, Charlotte hesitated with her phone, unsure how to tell Lily. Telling her would be bad, but hiding it would be worse.

Finally, she decided to wait until Lily returned from Lumina to give her a hint.

But that night, Lily called, "Charlotte, can you come over?"

Charlotte sat up in bed, "What's wrong?"

Lily just cried, unable to explain.

Charlotte had a hunch about what was going on. She threw off the covers and got up, saying, "Don't do anything stupid, I'm coming right over!"

Lily was crying miserably on the phone.

When Charlotte arrived at Lily's villa, the place was a mess.

Tina was in a sexy camisole, her hair a mess, and her face scratched by Lily. She looked disheveled.

Lily wasn't much better; her dress was missing buttons, and she had slap marks on her face.

Charlotte's heart sank. She guessed Robert had hit her.

Lily saw Charlotte and threw herself into her arms, crying, "Charlotte, I want a divorce!"

Charlotte hated Robert's betrayal and violence, but she couldn't escalate things now.

She helped Lily sit down, ignoring everyone else, and got some ice for Lily's face.

Charlotte felt guilty. If she had told Lily earlier, she might have avoided this.

Lily cried, "He hit me for that bitch!"

She clung to Charlotte, trembling with anger. "They've been together for years, and they've practically worn out my bed."

Charlotte felt sad. She looked at Robert, wanting to see his reaction.

Robert was angry. He did love Lily, but she had a bad temper. Tina, on the other hand, was submissive and gentle, making him feel comfortable. Spending money on Tina seemed like a better investment.

Robert showed no remorse; instead, he said firmly, "Stay or get out, it's up to you!"

Lily cried even harder.

Charlotte guessed she didn't really want a divorce because she loved Robert.

Charlotte tried to stay calm and said to Robert, "You've been with Lily for so many years. Do you think treating her like this is right? Whether you divorce or not, you should have some decency."

She played on his psychology, adding, "For all of Lily's 24 years, you've been the only one in her life!"

Sure enough, Robert's attitude softened.

He tugged at his shirt collar, looking uncomfortable, and said, "I was just fooling around; I didn't take it seriously!"

He went over to pull Lily.

Lily was still upset and refused.

Robert coaxed her, "Alright, I'm trying to make it up to you! We have to go to Mom's tomorrow, don't cry. If your face is all puffy, I won't know how to explain it to her."

Lily hit him. But as she hit him, they ended up in a make-up embrace.

Charlotte felt helpless but respected Lily's choice. The key was Robert's future behavior.

On the other side, Tina's face turned pale.

She had taken a desperate gamble today, deliberately letting Lily catch them, hoping they would divorce. But Robert, that bastard, had said he was fooling around with her!

Tina covered her face and glared at Charlotte, sneering, "Charlotte, you're really something! I underestimated you before."

Before Charlotte could respond, Robert couldn't wait to kick her out. "Get out, we're done."

Charlotte found the outcome rather ironic.

In the following days, she was busy with the music studio and hadn't had a chance to see Lily.

But from their phone conversations, she could tell that Lily and Robert were doing well, almost like newlyweds. Charlotte couldn't judge such a marriage; she thought perhaps many women would choose to forgive like Lily.

After being busy for a few days, Charlotte almost forgot about Frederick, and they had little contact.

One evening, when she returned to her apartment, the lights in the apartment lobby were on, and Charlotte was startled, quickly walking a few steps.

As she expected, Frederick was back.

He was sitting on the sofa, talking on the phone, with a suitcase beside him, clearly just having arrived home.

When Frederick saw Charlotte, his eyes deepened.

He gently waved her over.

Charlotte changed her shoes and sat down next to him. Frederick, still on the phone, casually played with her hair, his gaze fixed on her face.
