Chapter 327 He Set Up Their Home in Syeattel (Part 2)
So, Chloe finally rolled outta bed around noon.
She cracked her eyes open and realized she was in the crib Andrew had set up for her.
She blinked a few times, snuggling the bunny next to her pillow. She really dug Andrew.
Dragging herself up, she spotted the breakfast he'd whipped up.
The fruits were all washed and ready to go.
Andrew really spoiled her. With his status, any woman would find this sweet.
Chloe wanted to whip up dinner for him, but she was clueless in the kitchen. After a while, she even managed to burn the rice and had to chuck it.
In the end, she just ordered takeout.
Around four in the afternoon, Andrew strolled back from a meeting.
He glanced at the dining table, tossed his coat on the sofa, and teased, "So, you got a whole spread of takeout for your beloved, huh?"
Chloe held out her hand, showing a small cut from chopping veggies.
Tears started to well up in her eyes.
Andrew's heart melted instantly.
He bandaged her up, and they ate together.
After dinner, he chilled on the sofa, smoking quietly, looking all smug. With his good looks, he was like a painting just sitting there.
He had something on his mind.
During today's meeting, he turned down an offer.
It was about developing some new metal for aerospace and stealth aircraft. If it worked out, it could boost domestic tech by 30 years.
With loads of cash and major influence, everyone was hyped about it.
After four years of research, his future would be golden if it succeeded!
Andrew passed and recommended a junior colleague.
He didn't regret it. He'd lived for this stuff in the first half of his life, but things were different now. He had Chloe, and he wanted to give her a home.
Chloe was right there with him.
Andrew stubbed out his cigarette and looked at her. "Gonna try cooking again next time?"
She snuggled into his arms and softly said she wanted to cook for him.
Andrew smiled faintly.
At that moment, he felt a bit melancholic, but he preferred hearing her talk about everyday stuff.
Chloe had been with him for a while and finally felt bad about not being working. She pressed her small face against his firm abs, playing with his shirt buttons, and whispered, "A magazine asked me to shoot a cover a few days ago!"
She showed a number with her fingers. "There's a fee!"
Andrew pinched her cheek and praised her, "You're so capable! Not everyone gets such an opportunity, right?"
Naturally, she was stoked.
But Andrew had his thoughts. She was gonna be his wife eventually, and it wasn't cool for her to be in the public eye. So he first praised her without showing his true feelings and then subtly raised some questions.
Chloe said, "Maybe I shouldn't go after all!"
She wasn't short of cash but just wanted to hear sweet words from Andrew. "Would you take care of me for the rest of my life?"
Andrew kissed her forehead. "Yeah! I'll always take care of you."
They lived like a married couple in that swanky apartment.
Andrew came by almost every week.
He cooked for her, and she gave him back and leg massages. At night, she'd climb into his arms wearing his shirt.
Sometimes, he'd get some private calls.
Gregory and the crew would invite him out, but Andrew always declined. He let Nathan handle some social stuff and rarely went out, let alone took her along.
When Chloe asked, he'd just say it wasn't suitable for a young girl.
But he was pretty chill with her. He didn't mess with her hanging out with friends.
He took her skiing and to see the Northern Lights.
Those six months were their sweetest and most beautiful time.
As the New Year approached, Andrew got busy.
They hadn't seen each other for days. Chloe lay on the bed talking to him on the phone, her tone all playful.
There was a noise downstairs, sounded like Laura was crying.
"What's up?" Andrew heard it and couldn't help but ask.
Chloe lowered her voice. "I'll go check it out."
She hung up and hurried downstairs. On the stairs, she saw Frederick standing in the middle of the hall, Laura hugging Frederick's shoulders and crying, and Patrick gently patting her to comfort her.
Chloe was caught off guard for a sec.
Laura looked up, tears streaming, and called out, "Chloe, come here quick; check out Lola."
Chloe bolted downstairs.
Frederick showed her a pic on his phone.
Lola, just six months old, with blonde hair and fair skin.
She was adorable.
Chloe covered her mouth, staring at the pic, and whispered, "She looks so much like Charlotte!"
Laura was moved to tears.
Patrick, feeling a mix of pride and emotion, said, "It's good she looks like Charlotte. If she looked like Frederick, she'd be in trouble!"
Laura shot Patrick a reproachful look.
Patrick's tone softened, "Look, the kid's fine. No need to cry every day. Cheer up. With Frederick's skills, he can give us plenty more kids!"
Patrick laughed heartily.
But there was a hint of sadness in his laughter. Lola was getting better, but the family still felt incomplete. Who knew how Charlotte was doing now?
Chloe headed back to her room late at night.
She sent the photo to Andrew. After a long wait, she got a call from him. In the middle of the night, he didn't say much, just softly called her name, "Chloe."
She answered.
They both knew what the other was feeling. Lola's recovery gave them hope to be together.
Maybe they wouldn't have to keep things on the down-low anymore.
She fell asleep clutching her phone.
In the morning, Andrew called, saying he'd be at the apartment in an hour.
His voice was hoarse, clearly from working all night and then rushing over at dawn. Chloe felt both happy and worried. She said softly, "I'll drive over myself; no need to pick me up!"
Besides, Frederick was at home.
Andrew responded gently, telling her to drive safely.
They arrived at the apartment almost at the same time. Their cars met downstairs, and Nathan greeted them with a smile, carrying some fruits, veggies, and daily necessities upstairs.
On that chilly winter morning, Andrew unbuttoned his coat.
She threw herself into his arms, pushing him against the car. Andrew hugged her and lowered his head to kiss her. He wasn't young anymore, but at that moment, he just wanted to do something reckless.
They kissed for a long time before he hoarsely asked, "Did you miss me?"
She did!
Nathan came down at that moment, smiling. "Everything's set up. I'll come to pick you up at two in the afternoon."
Chloe felt a bit embarrassed.
Andrew held her hand and led her upstairs.
He seemed a bit urgent. As soon as they got inside, he couldn't wait to take off her coat, caressing her body while kissing her. They rarely did such things outside the bedroom, but today he was unusually eager, carrying her to the sofa.
In just a few minutes, they were at it.
Chloe had never experienced such intense passion. She clung to his neck, her eyes sparkling with infatuation.
Andrew began to kiss her.
He had good stamina and skills, easily overwhelming her every time, making her cry uncontrollably.
He finally had his fill. After a brief rest, he carried her to take a shower, then they lay down to rest together.
Chloe lay in his arms.
She felt a bit uneasy. He hadn't used protection earlier, but she thought it was her safe period, so there shouldn't be any problems.
She leaned on Andrew's shoulder and softly murmured about his insatiable needs.
Andrew turned to her, kissed her, and after a long time, he gently asked, "Aren't you happy?"
She blinked gently, vaguely understanding his meaning.
Lola's recovery meant they could be open about their relationship.
But marriage was something a man should bring up. Even if she was full of anticipation, she was too shy to mention it first. Andrew knew her thoughts!
He was in a good mood, so his interest was high, and he couldn't help but go at it again.
Chloe was exhausted and fell asleep.
Andrew, however, was full of joy. He got up and made her some food, even cutting a fruit platter. Before leaving, he touched the velvet box in his pocket.
