Chapter 644 I Have Always Kept My Chastity for Ms. Butler!

The villa was super quiet, even Jesse's playful noises were barely there.

Amara was pressed up against the wardrobe by Kingsley, their lips locked in a fervent, breath-stealing kiss.

His warm hands on her waist made Amara melt.

Kingsley stopped, resting his forehead against hers, his voice all shaky and low. "Feels good?"

Amara snapped back to reality, blushing like crazy.

Kingsley kissed her cheek, but she turned her face away to dodge it. He chuckled lightly. "Your body is giving you away."

After saying that, he let her go and opened the wardrobe to pick out a few outfits.

Amara watched him.

Kingsley, with his usual reserved demeanor, said, "We should keep things proper."

He grabbed the clothes and left. Hearing the door close next door, Amara angrily plopped down on the sofa, thinking, 'Kingsley is really shameless!'

She knew she didn't reject him, but after the whirlwind of breakups and reconciliations they'd endured, getting back together now would seem silly.

Just as Amara was lost in thought, Jesse came in. "Mom, I'm so happy! Dad said he's taking me to pick out a puppy, and I want one even prettier than Bobby."

Amara snapped back to reality as Jesse crashed into her arms, leaning against her with bright eyes.

Jesse, dissatisfied, asked, "Mom, did you hear what I said?"

Amara softly apologized, "I didn't hear clearly. Can you say it again?"

Jesse, with his good temperament, repeated himself and pulled Amara's hand. "Change into a pretty dress and come with us."

"A pretty dress?" she asked, puzzled.

Jesse nodded vigorously. "Dad said that whatever other kids have, I should have too! You should dress beautifully every day."

Amara sighed. Jesse didn't even know he was being tricked.

But she was willing to make Jesse happy, so she picked out a light purple wool dress for spring and paired it with white high-heeled shoes, looking elegant.

She took Jesse downstairs, where Kingsley was sitting on the sofa, holding a cigarette and talking on the phone.

Maybe dealing with something tricky, he furrowed his brows slightly, adding a touch of mature male charm.

Seeing Amara and Jesse coming down, Kingsley stubbed out his cigarette, finished his call, and stood up, saying, "Let's go!"

Amara lightly licked her lips. "If you have urgent matters, I can take Jesse."

Kingsley looked at her for a moment, then asked slowly, "Don't want to go out with me? Afraid I'll mess up your plans to find a new partner?"

Amara stayed silent.

Jesse, holding Amara's hand, looked up at her, his little face showing disappointment.

Amara patted his little head. She looked up and said to Kingsley, "Don't say these things in front of Jesse! I didn't mean that."

Kingsley still spoke slowly, "Really? So you mean you won't look for another man? Anyway, for Jesse's sake, I'm not planning to find a lover. I just wonder if you can do the same."

Amara knew he was forcing her to make a statement in front of Jesse!

Normally, she wouldn't care, but now Jesse was looking at her with starry eyes, afraid she would find him a stepfather.

Amara sighed lightly. "I won't!"

Kingsley, serious, said, "I hope you keep your word!"

Then he took Jesse's hand. "Get in the car! I'll take you to pick out a puppy."

With the temptation, Jesse quickly forgot Amara's promise, happily sitting in the back child seat. Kingsley held the car door, his gaze finally falling on Amara's dress, looking for a long moment before saying softly, "Looks nice!"

Amara pretended not to hear him, focusing instead on getting into the car. As she moved, Kingsley placed a hand on her waist to support her, his touch sending a jolt through her. She turned around to see Kingsley smiling calmly, yet exuding strong, masculine energy.

Amara blushed, and she turned to sit next to Jesse, who was innocently talking about the puppy.

Kingsley closed the car door and got in.

As he fastened his seatbelt, he said softly, "Let's get a giant poodle!"

Amara thought this type of dog was too large, but Kingsley showed Jesse a picture of a grown giant poodle, which was white, beautiful, and cute.

"We'll get a giant poodle. It'll be as pretty as your mom when it grows up."

Kingsley was very good at deceiving Jesse, who immediately liked it a lot. "I want this one!"

Kingsley then looked at Amara. "Do you like it?"

Amara was so angry she didn't want to respond.

Kingsley's voice suddenly became tender. "Isn't it nice to get Jesse a pet? Or, we could have another child! I'd really like a daughter."

Jesse leaned against Amara, saying, "I want a sister too! Angelina has a sister."

"Austin is a boy."

"But he's so pretty!"

"No matter how pretty Austin is, he's still a boy."

Jesse said, "Got it," his gaze shifting down to Amara's belly, as he hoped she could give him a sister the next second.

Amara regretted going out with them; she should be working.

Kingsley chuckled lightly, gently pressing the gas pedal, and started explaining to Jesse. "We need to get married first before we can have your sister."

Jesse, eager for a sister, shouted, "Then you guys should get married quickly!"

The atmosphere in the car got tense.

Amara turned her face to the window. After a long while, Kingsley said softly, "Let's wait until your mom is willing."

They arrived at the pet store.

Because Rebecca had contacted them early, there were six giant poodle puppies waiting to be chosen. Jesse liked each one and wanted them all.

On this matter, Kingsley was firm. "We can only have one."

Jesse was downcast for a moment, but soon he was happy again, eagerly eyeing the puppies. In the end, he chose a cream-colored one. The store clerk handed it to him, and Jesse held it carefully.

The clerk smiled. "You really like the puppy!"

She began to register the puppy, saying it was named Snowflake and was three months old.

Jesse was so fond of Snowflake that he wanted to buy a dress for it, but Kingsley stopped him. "It's spring now, and the puppy would be uncomfortable wearing clothes. Isn't its white fur prettier?"

Jesse held the puppy and said loudly, "Snowflake isn't as pretty as Mom!"

Kingsley chuckled lightly.

Amara was too tired to argue with him. She should have been angry, but looking at the soft puppy, she felt a fondness. Having had a tough childhood without even a doll, she felt a bit unfamiliar to touch such a soft puppy.

Kingsley noticed her constantly petting Snowflake's fur. He suddenly said, "If you like it, pick another one for yourself."

Amara was stunned.

When she came to her senses, she smiled faintly. "No need; one is enough!"

Jesse looked at Kingsley and then at Amara, whispering, "Didn't Dad say we could only have one?"

Kingsley tapped him lightly. "Each person can only have one. Snowflake has already used up your quota."

It was clearly an excuse, but Jesse believed it completely and thought, 'Dad is so fair!'

Amara looked up at Kingsley. When he swiped his card, he added an extra $4,000, saying, "Make sure the other puppies are well-fed. If you can't find suitable owners, call me."

The clerk was quite surprised; Kingsley didn't seem like the charitable type.

But soon the clerk understood that Kingsley's gesture stemmed from Amara's evident affection for the puppies. Even though they hadn't taken all of them home, her concern for their well-being was evident. The clerk couldn't help but feel a pang of envy for Amara.

On the way back, Jesse sat in the child seat, making it inconvenient to hold the puppy, so Snowflake ended up in Amara's arms.

Jesse leaned over, and they both petted Snowflake. The puppy was super gentle, always nuzzling Amara's fingers, like it really liked its new owner.

Kingsley was driving in the front, glancing at them through the rearview mirror, and said, "If you like it so much, why not bring another one home?"

Amara didn't look up, but her expression was gentle. "I have to work and take care of Jesse; I don't have the time."

Kingsley didn't say anything more and drove back home. By the time they got there, the housekeeper was already preparing dinner, making several dishes that smelled delicious.

Hearing the car, the housekeeper came out, first admiring Jesse's new puppy, then saying to Kingsley and Amara, "Mr. Hawkins, Mrs. Hawkins, dinner will be ready in half an hour."

Kingsley nodded lightly.

The housekeeper left, and Jesse ran to the lawn to play with Snowflake.

Amara looked at Kingsley.

By now, the sky was dusky, with a large floating cloud at the horizon, casting a yellowish twilight.

Kingsley leaned against the car, lighting a cigarette.

The dim light elongated his shadow, and his profile looked more defined and noble in the gloom. Amara said softly, "You can tell the housekeeper not to call me that."

Kingsley first looked at Jesse.

After a moment, he turned his gaze back to Amara, saying, "If not that, then what? Ms. Butler? Do you want outsiders to know we're living together illegally?"

As he spoke, he suddenly pulled her close, whispering, "I didn't realize you were so open-minded before."

Today, Amara had been verbally bullied by him countless times, and she had her temper too. She bit her lip and coldly snorted, "And you're any better? Don't tell me you haven't been with any other women these past few years."

Kingsley let her go.

His long fingers held the cigarette, as he smoked leisurely, looking incredibly attractive.

After a while, he smiled, "I really haven't had anyone else these years! I've been keeping myself chaste for you."

Amara thought he was shameless.

Kingsley had already stubbed out the cigarette and went to join Jesse.

Watching his back, Amara felt confused. She could sense Kingsley's possessiveness over her, but his attitude was unhurried, and he was even willing to sleep in separate rooms. This made Amara very annoyed; she felt like she had nowhere to escape.
