Chapter 813 Clayton, I'm Not That Desperate for a Man!
Natalie asked her question, her eyes locked on Clayton.
The room was silent.
The only sound was the air conditioner blowing against the blinds. Five or six seconds felt like an eternity.
Finally, Clayton spoke softly, "No! Never!"
Natalie didn't say anything; she just blinked lightly.
Clayton had watched her grow up, yet at this moment, he couldn't fathom what she was thinking.
Just then, the secretary knocked on the door from outside, "Mr. Percy, you have a call."
Clayton's eyes didn't leave Natalie, but he spoke to the person outside, "I'll return the call later."
The outside fell silent.
He slowly placed his hand on Natalie's shoulder, not saying a word, just pulling her into his embrace.
Natalie didn't struggle, but she didn't hug him back either.
This hug wasn't particularly warm; it felt more like a one-sided confession from Clayton.
The hug lasted a long time.
Several times, Natalie wanted to break free from his arms, but Clayton wouldn't let her.
He whispered in her ear, "Don't reject me, Natalie!"
Natalie panted a few times, suppressing her emotions, her voice hoarse, "Clayton, I'm not an object. I'm a person."
"You can't just want me when you want and discard me when you don't." She still pushed him away.
But she couldn't leave because Clayton held onto her.
He lowered his head, pressing close to her, his breath hot against her neck, causing her to shiver.
Natalie felt overwhelmed and tried to turn her face away, but Clayton held her neck and the back of her head, forcing her to look at him.
Close like this, he said in a husky voice, "I want you! Natalie, I've always wanted you."
He never stopped wanting to live with her.
After he finished speaking, he didn't let her resist and kissed her, holding her tightly in his arms.
Natalie could barely move. His kiss and his breath invaded her body, into every limb and bone... everywhere.
Natalie hurt, every inch of her body in pain.
Clayton held her too tightly.
Amid the sound of the air conditioner, the kiss slowly became more intimate.
Clayton guided her hand to unbuckle his belt and pants, urging her to reach inside.
Natalie pulled her hand back, unwilling, so he kissed her... coaxing and persuading her!
Their kisses were clumsy and stumbling.
All the way to the bed, when Clayton gently pressed her onto the bed, Natalie turned her face away.
At this moment, she felt humiliated.
The buttons of her silk blouse were undone, her skirt hiked up to her thighs, her stockings half off... it was all so undignified.
Clayton wasn't much better off.
His handsome, lean face was flushed with desire, pressed close to hers.
Natalie choked out, "Did you call me here just to have sex? Clayton, we were married before, and it didn't matter."
"But now, we have no relationship. Saying you love me doesn't mean we can go back to the way things were."
They had been apart for two years.
Everything was unfamiliar—their hearts, their bodies—and they had never really had a sexual relationship before.
Seeing her like this, Clayton couldn't bring himself to touch her.
He gently caressed her face, soothing her softly, "I won't do it. Don't cry, okay?"
Natalie cried in embarrassment.
She couldn't stop.
Clayton kissed away her tears, touching her to make her feel comfortable... he didn't care about his own desires, just watching her expression.
When Natalie startled, he held her down, comforting her gently, "Don't be afraid! Natalie, don't be afraid."
After a long time, she lay limp on the bed.
She felt humiliated, knowing Clayton was familiar with her body. Just now, she had been like a wanton woman, soft in his hands.
And she knew all his experience and skills must have come from other women.
Before their marriage, she didn't know how many girlfriends Clayton had.
Just thinking about it made her uncomfortable, so she turned away.
Clayton leaned over, helping her straighten her clothes, hugging her from behind... he invited her back to their old home, saying he would make her favorite food.
Natalie didn't respond.
After a while, he couldn't resist wanting to kiss her, but when he leaned in, he saw Natalie had fallen asleep.
Clayton was slightly surprised.
He turned Natalie around, holding her in his arms... he turned off the light, then watched her in the dim light for a long time before getting up quietly.
There was too much work at the company, no time for even half a day's rest.
When Natalie woke up, it was already dusk.
Opening her eyes, she saw Clayton sitting by the bed. He spoke softly, "The housekeeper called. Your brother took Haven over."
Natalie sat up, brushing her long hair aside.
Clayton watched her quietly.
Natalie spoke, "I need to go back."
The next second, Clayton grabbed her arm, his voice low, "Natalie, don't go!"
Natalie ignored him.
She straightened her clothes, speaking with her back to him, "Stay and have sex with you? Clayton, I'm not that desperate for a man."
Clayton laughed in exasperation.
He hooked her slender waist, unable to resist saying, "It seemed like you were the one enjoying it earlier."
They had been married for so long, and it seemed like she was always the one who enjoyed it... just thinking about it made Clayton feel a bit unbalanced.
He held her waist, pulling her into his arms.
Natalie scolded, "Stop being a jerk! You brought this on yourself! I didn't ask you to."
She pushed his hand away, pausing to say, "I have things to do! Take me back."
She wasn't naive.
She could tell that Clayton genuinely wanted to be with her, but his approach was the same as with his past girlfriends.
Natalie had known him for many years and had seen it before.
So she was a bit annoyed.
But she didn't completely reject him. She let him take her back... adults understand these things without needing to say them out loud.
And Clayton understood!
Of course, he wouldn't take her back, but he compromised a bit.
Natalie sat beside him, realizing this wasn't the way home, and asked, "Where are we going?"
Clayton said, "My place."
Natalie's body stiffened. After a moment, she said coldly, "I don't want to go."
At a red light, Clayton turned to look at her, speaking seriously, "Gina doesn't live there. She never has! Natalie, I've never lived with another woman."
Natalie's heart skipped a beat.
Clayton's voice softened, "I haven't liked anyone else! Natalie, since we started, there hasn't been anyone else."
Natalie felt sad hearing this.
She wanted to ask him why he left her then.
But she held back, not wanting to lose her dignity.
Half an hour later, they arrived at Clayton's villa.
As soon as the car stopped, the Labrador named Gina ran over, grinning and nudging Natalie's car door.
Natalie still cared about its name and didn't want to pay attention to the dog.
Clayton unbuckled his seatbelt, smiling lightly, "The dog's name was given by its previous owner, purely coincidental."
Natalie didn't move from the car.
Clayton got out, and Gina jumped up, affectionately playing with him... after a while, he opened the car door, and the dog nudged towards Natalie.
Natalie didn't want to like it.
But its soft, golden fur was so pretty, and Gina was very affectionate.
Natalie reluctantly petted it.
Gina wagged its tail happily.
Natalie looked up to speak to Clayton, but when she did, she was slightly stunned...
Clayton stood under the moonlight, looking at her intently, his eyes filled with so much.
Natalie got out of the car, patting Gina's head, "Change its name!"
Clayton smiled gently, "You name it!"
Natalie thought for a moment but couldn't come up with a good name, so she said, "Just call it Labrador!"
Gina wagged its tail in dissatisfaction.
Clayton patted its head, "Let's call it Max!"
Though Max wasn't much better, it was better than Labrador!
Natalie didn't say much about the new name.
Inside the villa, Clayton cut a plate of fruit for Natalie and brought her some homemade yogurt.
He handed her a laptop to work on while he went to the kitchen to cook for her.
Natalie was too thin; he wanted to fatten her up a bit.
While Natalie ate the fruit, Max nudged beside her, drooling.
Natalie gave it two pieces of melon.
She watched Max eat the fruit but couldn't focus on her drawing. The sounds from the kitchen kept distracting her.
She wondered if coming back with Clayton tonight was the right decision. Gavin had said she should give Clayton a chance.
She gave him a chance, but she knew she still felt uncomfortable.
This discomfort put a barrier between them.
When Clayton brought the food over, Natalie was daydreaming, the laptop screen lit up, but the drawing board was blank.
Clayton took the laptop away, "If you don't feel like it, don't."
Natalie looked up at him.
Their eyes met, and they both knew what the other was thinking. After a while, Natalie spoke, "Clayton, I need time."
Clayton smiled.
When he smiled, his lean face softened, exuding a mature man's charm.
He gently touched her soft face, his voice light, "I was talking about work. What were you thinking?"
Natalie bit her lip slightly.
Clayton still looked down at her, gazing at her.
After a moment, he leaned down and kissed her lips, speaking honestly, "I really want to."
The atmosphere became a bit delicate.
After a moment of silence, he gently held her wrist, speaking softly, "This is your favorite food. After you eat, I'll take you back. Natalie, I want to see Haven."
Haven, originally named Haven Percy, had been renamed Haven Devereux.
Natalie didn't agree immediately.
Their future was uncertain, and she didn't want to involve Haven too soon. If feelings developed and Clayton left again, Haven would be heartbroken.
She remained silent, and Clayton guessed her thoughts.
He didn't push her.
After dinner, he politely took her back, behaving properly, unlike that evening or earlier in the lounge.
The car drove smoothly down the road, and neither of them spoke.
When the car stopped, Clayton turned to look at her.
Natalie wanted to get out, but her hand was quickly caught.
In the dim car, Clayton looked at her gently, "Natalie, I'm serious."
Natalie lowered her eyes, her lashes trembling slightly.
She thought for a moment, then looked up at him, "Clayton, the last time we got together quickly because we knew each other well. We had been with each other for many years!"
"But now it's different. Our relationship has changed... I don't know if everything you told me is true. Clayton, once trust is broken, it's hard to rebuild!"
"And we're not in our twenties anymore. We have to be careful, especially since I have a child now. I have to think about the child."
Clayton understood her thoughts.
He respected her, so despite his reluctance, he gently touched her hand and said goodnight.
