Chapter 373 Frederick's Strategy

Tina was all about climbing that social ladder, but Charlotte? Nah, she didn't need to. But if the dean picked her, no way she'd just hand it over.

Charlotte flashed a faint smile.

That smile cut Tina deep. She snapped, "It's gotta be 'cause of Lily! Charlotte, you can't pin that on me; it's Lily's own fault for not being good enough."

Charlotte just shook her head gently.

Tina still couldn't wrap her head around it. Lily dumped Robert, yet she still managed to snag a great guy. Meanwhile, Tina was stuck in a rut, no way out!

The more chill Charlotte was, the more Tina hated her guts.

So, she went to find Larry.

The dude was in his early fifties, and honestly, he didn't look half bad.

Tina was pretty bold. She figured spending time with him for a good opportunity wasn't a bad deal. Plus, she'd heard about Larry's sketchy private life.

She was sure he'd be down.

But when she started stripping, Larry kindly helped her put her clothes back on, looking all righteous. "Tina! When we talk about sacrificing for art, this ain't it! It's about spirit, not the body. Once these clothes come off, it's hard to put 'em back on."

Tina's face soured.

Larry said, "I don't know where you heard that nonsense, but let me tell you, the school never planned for you to perform. It's just baseless rumors from people with bad intentions!"

But Tina wasn't buying it.

She still thought Charlotte had swiped her chance.

She stormed out of his office and went looking for Charlotte.

Charlotte was chilling in the library with a book, and it was super quiet 'cause four bodyguards in black were sitting around her, making it tough for anyone to get close.

Tina had been around men before.

She could tell Charlotte was different!

Charlotte used to be pretty, but she was always this naive girl. Now, there was a hint of womanly charm in her eyes. Was it 'cause of Frederick?

Thinking about that handsome, noble guy, Tina was green with envy.

Just then, Charlotte looked up and saw her.

Because of Lily, Charlotte ignored her.

She went back to her book.

Tina tried to get closer, but the bodyguards immediately stood up and blocked her.

People around started to stare.

Tina felt super embarrassed, gritting her teeth. "Charlotte, you really are something!" Then she turned and left.

Charlotte watched her go and kept reading.

Tina left and called Robert, "Where are you?"

Robert, still mad about breaking up with Lily because of her, snapped, "Where I am is none of your business! Tina, I've made it very clear to you."

Tina lowered her eyes and smirked. "Let's meet."

Robert hesitated.

In the end, he met up with her.

After hooking up twice, Robert took a shower, threw on a bathrobe, and leaned on the sofa smoking, looking pissed.

Tina sneered.

She knew his game; he hadn't given up on Lily but couldn't resist the physical temptation.

She despised him deep down!

But she needed Robert's help, so she wrapped herself in a towel and leaned on his shoulder. "There's a piano performance at the school celebration; such a rare chance to shine."

Robert smoked in silence.

Honestly, Tina wasn't sure if Robert would help her, but she had no other options.

After a long pause, Robert stubbed out his cigarette.

He smirked. "Considering how hard you worked just now, I should help you! But Tina, you don't get the high society in Syeattel. Sure, everyone plays together, but the statuses are different! You haven't seen the splendor of the Hawkins family. There's a long line of people wanting their help, and now you want me to take something from Frederick? Do you think I'm living too comfortably?"

Tina didn't quite buy it.

Robert got up, took off his bathrobe, and started getting dressed.

As he dressed, he spoke casually, "Let me put it this way, none of us dare to mess with Frederick."

Robert always felt that Frederick had been different lately.

He patted Tina's cheek and left a stack of cash.

Tina angrily threw it at him.

She didn't want to give up such an opportunity, especially since the next day she saw Charlotte rehearsing with her own eyes. The scene and the setup left Tina in awe.

The piano was the legendary Morning Dew.

The stage was covered with roses.

The crystal chandelier above cast a dreamy light all around.

Charlotte was a natural talent, and after this performance, she'd be the talk of the piano world, while Tina would always be playing catch-up.

Tina glared at the stage.

Just then, an electrician in work clothes came over and climbed up to check the lighting.

The crystal chandelier flickered.

Tina's heart pounded. If that chandelier fell and hit Charlotte, then no one would be in her way for the top spot!

Charlotte wouldn't be so smug either.

With only two days left until the school celebration, Tina got busy.

She tailed the electrician.

The guy was in his early twenties, living alone in a rental apartment, and didn't have much of a social life.

Tina knew how to play her cards.

She followed him to his door and knocked. The young man thought it was a delivery and naturally opened the door. But standing outside was a rather pretty woman.

The young electrician was stunned for a moment and said softly, "I didn't order any services!"

Tina was a bit annoyed.

But she said gently, "I'm a student at the music academy, not in business!"

Tina went in and closed the door.

She glanced around the room, finally resting her eyes on the man's bare chest, and said rather haughtily, "I want to make a deal with you."

The young man bent down to find a cigarette. "I told you, I didn't order any services."

Tina took out $100,000 from her bag and placed it on the table. "I want you to do something for me!"

When she explained, the young man took the money and pushed Tina out the door. "I don't do that kind of thing!"

Tina didn't want to give up. "It's not difficult!"

The man scratched his head but still didn't want to do it.

Tina bit her lip and finally left her phone number with him. "Think it over and call me! Opportunities to make this kind of money don't come often."

After she left, the young man sat on his simple bed smoking.

He looked at the phone number, thinking of tearing it up.

In his mind, he recalled the young girl at the rehearsal today, she was truly beautiful.

The way she played the piano was extremely graceful.

Just then, there was another knock on the door. He thought it was still Tina and opened the door, shouting, "I said I don't do that kind of thing!"

He was stunned as soon as he finished speaking.

At the door stood a stranger, who dressed in a business suit with a trench coat over it.

The man was slowly smoking a cigarette, his blue eyes deeply gazing at him.

The young man didn't even dare to invite him in.

Because compared to the man in front of him, his room was too cramped.

But the noble man walked in.

Frederick immediately noticed the piece of paper with Tina's phone number on it. He picked it up lightly and said in a calm tone, "Someone came by earlier and offered you money to do something?"

He smiled slightly. "You didn't agree?"

The young man didn't dare to speak.

Frederick took out a check from his pocket, worth $800,000. "This is enough for you to buy a decent apartment in Syeattel! My request is that you call this number and agree to her."

The young man was shocked.

$800,000 was very tempting, but he couldn't go against his conscience.

Frederick smiled slightly. "I don't want you to harm anyone! The girl playing the piano is my girlfriend, and I love her very much! She won't be on stage then."

The young man was extremely suspicious.

But the man in front of him, when talking about the girl, had eyes full of affection.

It was very convincing.

He hesitated for a long time and finally took the check, still unsure. "Really? No one will get hurt?"

"I promise!"

The young man called Tina.

He stammered, "I'll do what you asked! You really willing to give me $100,000?"

On the other end, Tina sneered.

She thought, 'How could such a poor man resist the temptation of money?'

She quickly returned there.

The deal was settled.

Tina still wasn't assured and wanted to sleep with the young man.

But he clutched his shirt, blushing. "Don't mess around. I'm saving myself for my wife!"

Tina was disappointed.

Late at night, she left the dim rental apartment in high heels and got into a taxi.

As the car drove away, a tall figure emerged from behind a tree.

It was Frederick.

He watched the direction the car left, his face covered in a layer of frost.
