Chapter 967 BruceSienna Finale 2
Bruce stood at the foot of the bed, and Sienna quietly gazed at him.
They hadn't seen each other for over a month.
He looked different. He wasn't his usual dignified self; he was tanned and thinner, but it added a certain rugged charm to him. As she looked at him, he reached out and gently touched her cheek. He didn't say anything, but his eyes were full of emotion.
After a long pause, he finally spoke, "I couldn't stop worrying, so I came back to check on you."
Bruce wiped his face and said, "I'm gonna wash up."
There were no flights at night, and it wasn't convenient to use a private jet, so he had driven for several hours to get back. He could head back after lunch, so he just washed his face and lay down next to Sienna, still in his clothes. He even had a distinct masculine scent of sweat.
Sienna didn't mind; she made some room for him.
Bruce lay there and talked to her about Raymond's affairs. These were things Lonnie had discussed with him, and now he was sharing them with his wife. Finally, he pulled Sienna into his arms, but did nothing more than talk to her about personal matters.
Maybe this was the moment they truly felt like a married couple.
He asked about Will.
"He's doing well," Sienna said, resting her head on his shoulder. She asked about his project and when it would be finished. Bruce took out a cigarette and played with it between his fingers before saying, "It's hard to say, but it will be done before the end of the year."
With Raymond's situation added to the mix, it had to be finished on time.
Sienna nodded.
"You should get some sleep. I'll go check on Grandpa," she said.
Bruce held her for a while longer before patting her on the hip and saying in a hoarse voice, "If it weren't for the special circumstances, I wouldn't let you leave the house."
He wasn't thinking about anything romantic.
After not seeing her for so long, he missed her. Just holding her and sleeping quietly was enough.
Sienna stayed with him for about ten more minutes.
Soon, his breathing became steady, and he was clearly asleep.
People's hearts are made of flesh.
Even though they had agreed on a year, she couldn't say much now. It wasn't that he had done something to move her; it was that during their time together, she realized she still liked him. Over the past six months, they had grown and become the people they wanted each other to be, but she had never said any of those cheesy words.
As they grew older and became parents, everything was different from before.
While Bruce slept, Sienna got up to help Marcella with household chores.
Marcella had always liked her.
It wasn't because she was materialistic, but because Sienna's upbringing was similar to Bruce's, making it easier for them to connect. She sighed, thinking about how Freya had been unable to see things clearly. If she had been willing to accept the money and material things, she would be living well now.
But Marcella never mentioned any of this.
She didn't ask about the young couple's relationship. As a woman, she could see Sienna's feelings for Bruce. If Sienna didn't love Bruce, she wouldn't have stayed at the Taylor Manor.
While they managed the household affairs, Marcella would occasionally hand things over to Sienna, saying it was to help manage, but it was really about passing the torch. She and Lonnie were getting older, and it was time to let the younger generation take over.
Sienna understood.
After some thought, she accepted.
Marcella's eyes were moist. She was grateful that Bruce had been lucky enough to choose Sienna.
By the time Sienna finished, it was almost noon.
When she returned to the bedroom, she saw that Bruce was already up. He had taken a shower and changed into a clean shirt. He was sitting on the couch in the living room, smoking. When he saw Sienna come in, he immediately put out the cigarette. "Did my mom give you that?"
Sienna was holding a large box.
She nodded honestly. "Yeah, Mom said it has the family account books, property deeds, and some valuable jewelry."
She roughly estimated that the box contained assets worth billions of dollars.
It was overwhelming!
Bruce called her over and patted her head. "If Mom gave it to you, just take it. But if you take our family's things, you have to stay my wife forever!"
