Chapter 483 So, He Is Gavin (Part 2)

In the restaurant, Gavin couldn't take his eyes off Molly as she walked away.

The shock and despair in her eyes were burned into his memory. He barely registered the chatter around him.

Finally, Andrew broke the silence, "Gavin, are you tight with Molly's boyfriend?"

Gavin, not really getting the point, shrugged, "Just acquaintances."

Andrew let it drop.

The parents from both sides exchanged small talk, and eventually, they had to ask the kids what they thought. Sarah, being all gracious, said she was willing to give it a shot. When they turned to Gavin, he hesitated for a moment. All eyes were on him.

Gavin picked up his wine glass, took a small sip, and said calmly, "I have a good impression of Miss Hughes."

Sarah gave a faint smile.

Gavin handed over his business card, looking all polite, "Sorry, I just remembered I have some work to handle at the office. Enjoy your meal."

Andrew and Chloe looked annoyed. The Hughes Family elders were pretty ticked off and wanted to leave with Sarah. But Sarah, still smiling, said, "Career is more important!" She took the business card graciously. Gavin nodded slightly at her and then left.

After he left, Andrew had to smooth things over, "Gavin's just a workaholic. Sorry if Sarah felt slighted. We'll talk to him later!"

The Hughes Family elders noticed Sarah clearly liked him, so they held back their harsh words. They praised Gavin a lot, finally saying, "In this regard, Sarah is quite similar to him. Young people need to have common interests."

Andrew quickly poured water for them. The parents from both families had a pleasant conversation.

Meanwhile, Clayton knew Molly was upset. So after getting in the car, he suggested, "How about we go home and cook something? Everything outside looks greasy!"

Amanda, thinking Molly felt bad seeing Andrew's family, agreed.

Clayton started the car and drove back to his villa.

When they got out, he wanted to hold Molly, but she shook her head lightly, worried Amanda would notice her unusual emotions.

But Amanda had sensed something was off for a while. Molly had said she liked a man, but that man didn't like her. Gavin was just on a blind date, and judging by Molly's reaction, could that man be Gavin!?

Amanda felt a bit dizzy. Though she suspected, she acted like everything was normal and helped Molly to the guest room upstairs. After Molly lay down, she went to the kitchen to find Clayton.

Clayton was cooking. Hearing footsteps, he paused but didn't turn around.

Amanda walked over to help, casually asking, "Clayton, you seem pretty close with Molly. You know she had a boyfriend before, right? What was he like?"

Clayton wanted to keep it under wraps. But it was clear Amanda had figured it out, so he decided to come clean.

While slicing, he said in a low voice, "You saw him today; he was on a blind date."

Amanda felt lightheaded and had to hold onto the kitchen counter to steady herself.

After a while, she asked quietly, "But given the relationship between the two families, it's unlikely Molly would date Gavin. She doesn't act on impulse."

Clayton let out a bitter laugh. His tone was clearly strained, "Because she was dating 'Tony,' not Gavin! If she knew he was Gavin, she wouldn't have started with him at all! Gavin approached her, and then played with her emotions."

Amanda felt a deep sadness. She couldn't wrap her head around how Gavin could do this. How would the two families face each other in the future?

Clayton decided to spill it all. "They lived together for three months!"

Amanda silently walked out and sat in the small yard. The dog came over and sniffed her hand. She petted its head.

After a while, she tilted her head back slightly to hide her falling tears.

Outside the villa, a black car was parked; it was Gavin's.

Gavin opened the car door and got out, just in time to meet Amanda's gaze. Both felt pretty awkward, but Gavin eventually walked to the front door and knocked lightly.

Amanda wiped away her tears. She slowly got up, opened the door, and stepped out, closing it behind her. As soon as she got close, she slapped him.

Gavin looked pretty shaken after the slap, but he didn't dodge.

Amanda couldn't bear to look at him, turning her face away. After a moment, she suppressed her emotions and said, "Gavin, Molly already has mild depression. You're not just messing with her feelings; you're pushing her to a dead end! You had a relationship with her, but now you're gone. What about Molly? She's so stubborn. Do you know how long it'll take for her to get over this? Yes, her mother have caused you and your mother pain, but hasn't Molly also suffered enough in her childhood because of it? If you don't want to see her, we won't bring her around, but what have you done?"

Gavin gently touched his face. He looked towards the villa and said softly, "I want to see her."

Amanda was firm. She said, "I heard from Clayton that you two broke up! Since you broke up, there's nothing more to say. Didn't you go on a blind date today?"

Amanda's gaze was intense. She looked at Gavin and said softly, "Even if you might have had some real feelings, you know very well that your parents won't agree to her marrying into your family. I think Molly doesn't hold that kind of place in your heart, so don't waste her time or yours. The Miss Hughes you met today seemed nice. Gavin, let's leave it at that!"

After saying this, Amanda also felt upset. But she didn't want to make Molly sad. If Gavin really liked Molly, he wouldn't have broken up and gone on a blind date.

Amanda turned to open the door, and Gavin held her hand from behind. "I just want to see her."

Amanda gently shook her head, "You should cut ties cleanly! It's better for both of you."

She pushed the door open and went in, leaving Gavin standing there.

Gavin felt a bit lost. He didn't know why, after his identity was revealed, he insisted on seeing her. Was it to explain? Or to comfort her one last time? What was the point?

He had never done anything meaningless before. But now he had. He knew it might ruin the blind date, but he still left home and came over.

On the second floor, Molly stood by the window and saw everything that had just happened. But she didn't go downstairs. Knowing the truth, she felt terrible.

Gavin was just taking revenge on her. He would eventually find a girl of equal status to marry and have children with. Sarah had commissioned her design. So it was her!

Sarah must like Gavin. They looked well-matched. Molly, there's no point in holding on. He was always just taking revenge, at most finding it amusing. What was the point of continuing to entangle?

Molly let go of the curtain. She walked to the table, took some medicine, and swallowed it without water since there was no water dispenser in the bedroom. The more painful it is, the more it reminds her to stay clear-headed and not get entangled with Gavin anymore. However, she still shed tears in sadness.

Her phone rang; it was an unfamiliar number. She stared at it for a long time before remembering it was Gavin's number.
