Chapter 58 Frederick, I Want to Make You Happy

Frederick wasn't mad. He just smiled and headed to the closet to grab some clothes for a shower.

Charlotte let out a sigh of relief and got back to her call with Lily. She didn't want to talk about Ethan, so she asked, "What were you saying earlier?"

Lily paused for a moment before replying, "Our college is organizing a reunion. I heard Tina's behind it. That snake has an agenda; she even wants to combine it with Radiant University."

'Radiant University? Ethan went there, so Tina would definitely invite him,' Charlotte thought, suddenly not wanting to go.

Lily was fuming. "Tina never stops! She loves being a homewrecker, and now she wants everyone to cheer her on! I think she's targeting you. She's been spreading rumors that you're too heartbroken and jobless to show up."

Charlotte didn't want to deal with such drama. She said she'd think about it and hung up. When she looked up, Frederick was standing in a bathrobe at the bathroom door, his well-built body on full display.

Her eyes lingered on him.

Frederick walked over, drying his hair, and leaned in with a low chuckle. "A class reunion? That's just a breeding ground for affairs."

Charlotte bit her lip. "I'm not married yet."

"But you're with me now," Frederick murmured, his breath tickling her skin, his tone smooth and enticing.

Charlotte suddenly felt like her past relationships were a waste of time. Being with Frederick was definitely worth it.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and said in a soft voice, "Then I'll report to you all the time."

Frederick kissed her as a reward.

After some playful rolling around, Charlotte rested her chin on his shoulder and whispered, "I haven't decided about the reunion, but I have decided on one thing."

"What?" Frederick asked.

Charlotte cupped his face, her breath light. "Frederick, I just want to make you happy right now."

Frederick's blue eyes darkened.

Charlotte blushed and leaned in to kiss him.

The next day, Charlotte went to the hospital. William was in much better spirits, which put her at ease. She then discussed moving back home with Maria.

After they finished talking, Maria suddenly brought up Frederick. She had a particularly good impression of him and advised, "Get along well with Mr. Hawkins; you might even get married."

Charlotte smiled faintly. With Frederick's background and character, marriage seemed impossible. He only wanted a no-strings-attached relationship, and she was okay with that. As for the future, she didn't dare to think about it.

She didn't say much to Maria and quickly left the hospital. As soon as she reached the entrance, a white BMW pulled up in front of her.

The window rolled down, and it was Lily. She looked serious. "Get in. We need to talk."

Charlotte got in, fastened her seatbelt, and asked, "What's going on? Did you fight with Robert?"

Lily was agitated and wanted to smoke but held back. She took Charlotte to a coffee shop.

Charlotte pushed a bank card towards her, containing the money she owed Lily, along with a small gift.

Lily wasn't in the mood for that. She handed her phone to Charlotte. "Tina is trying to ruin you. Look at all the rumors she's spread about you on our college forum."

Charlotte quickly scrolled through the posts. Sure enough, there were numerous negative comments about her, portraying her as a woman with a chaotic personal life, dating older men or gold diggers, and having unclear relationships with unknown men.

Lily sighed. "Charlotte, you're a teacher! With Tina's smear campaign, who'd trust you to educate their kids? Those wealthy women are terrified of someone seducing their husbands! Unless you have a man more powerful than their husbands, you're done for!"
