Chapter 907 Bruce, Why Are You in My Bed?
Sienna mulled it over for a few minutes but ultimately decided to stay in bed.
She really didn't feel like running!
In the past, if Bruce had suggested a run, Sienna would have bought a ton of workout gear days in advance and gotten up early to do her makeup, just to impress him.
But now, she didn't feel the need to cater to him; she wanted to live her own life.
Right now, that meant sleeping in.
Sienna waved Bruce off, signaling she was going back to sleep. After years together, he got the message immediately.
Bruce didn't get upset; he just went for a run by himself.
When he got back at seven in the morning, he had run a full four miles and was drenched in sweat.
The Hawkins Mansion was quiet, with the maids setting the table quietly.
Seeing him return, one of them whispered, "Ms. Hawkins is still sleeping. Should I let her know you're back, Mr. Taylor?"
Bruce smiled pleasantly. "Nah, I'll go up and find her."
The two maids exchanged amused glances.
As Bruce headed upstairs, they whispered to each other, "Mr. Taylor is so handsome! He and Ms. Hawkins make such a perfect couple! Ms. Hawkins is tall, and Mr. Taylor must be at least 6'2". They look great together."
"Absolutely!"
Bruce overheard a bit of their conversation.
In the past, he wouldn't have liked such talk.
Too sentimental.
But now, being linked with Sienna, he found it sweet and heartwarming.
In the bedroom, Sienna was sleeping soundly.
She had lived a carefree life, her biggest worry being whether Bruce would fall in love with her. Her greatest disappointment was that he didn't.
Now that she didn't care anymore, she slept well again.
Bruce opened the door and entered, but Sienna didn't stir, still sleeping peacefully on her white pillow.
Her profile was perfect.
Sienna was wearing a nightgown. Bruce used to think Snow White only existed in fairy tales, but at this moment, he felt she was real.
His Sienna had been raised like a princess.
He hadn't appreciated her before.
Bruce sat on the edge of the bed, gently holding Sienna's hand. Her skin was soft, without a single callus, a testament to her pampered upbringing.
Besides her education and beauty, she didn't seem to have many other skills, indicating she hadn't attended many extracurricular classes. Her biggest concern growing up had been having fun!
Bruce found it amusing but also felt a bit envious and thought she was adorable.
He imagined raising their daughter the same way.
The Taylor family's wealth meant their daughter wouldn't need to work hard.
If they had a son, he would receive elite education from a young age and grow up to support his sister.
Sienna still didn't wake up.
Bruce decided to lie down beside her, pulling back a corner of the blanket to share the bed.
It had been a long time since he felt this way.
Since their breakup, it had been months without this closeness.
The time in the mountains was different; the bed there was too hard, and Sienna's feelings for him were purely physical.
But now, it was different. They were almost like an engaged couple.
Just thinking about it made Bruce feel happy.
There was an important meeting at the company at 10 AM, but Bruce wanted to stay with Sienna a little longer.
At nine, his phone rang. It was his secretary, Anna.
The call woke not only him but also Sienna.
She groggily snuggled into his arms, her voice still heavy with sleep. "Bruce, why are you in my bed?"
Bruce, with one arm under his head and the other around Sienna's shoulders, naturally answered Anna's call. "I'll be at the office soon!"
Sienna mumbled into his chest, "You're not at the office, but sleeping here with me! Bruce, will the Taylor Group go bankrupt?"
Anna thought, 'What did I just hear?'
Bruce looked down, gently stroking Sienna's head, and gave Anna a few more instructions.
After hanging up, he turned to Sienna. "Will you come to the office with me?"
Sienna, resting on his arm, replied, "No way! I'm not your pet dog, coming whenever you call! Besides, I have my own things to do."
She said the last part with a bit of a pout.
Bruce knew she worked at most seven days a month, living a very leisurely life.
She rarely acted, mostly doing commercials and occasionally walking the runway. Money was never an issue; everything depended on her mood.
Bruce pinched her nose. "What dog? We're practically engaged."
"We're not married yet! And even if we were, it would be a marriage of convenience."
Sienna's eyes sparkled. "Bruce, you're still on probation."
He chuckled softly, then pulled her into his arms, threading his fingers through her hair, and kissed her deeply.
