Chapter 713 Johnny, You Disgust Me!
Lola was freakishly calm.
Frederick and Charlotte were both on edge, especially Charlotte. She gently patted Lola's hand. "We'll handle this for you."
Lola shook her head. "No, I'll take care of it. I don't want you getting mixed up in this."
Charlotte nodded and went to calm down the fuming Frederick.
As Lola left the mansion, a black Range Rover pulled up. The windows were down, so they could see each other's faces clearly.
Johnny slowed down and called out, "Lola!"
The cars passed, but Lola didn't look at him. Her hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly her fingertips turned white. For a moment, Johnny wanted to chase after her, no matter the cost.
Frederick's voice boomed from inside the mansion, "If you're back, get in here!"
Lola, with two bodyguards in tow, kicked down the apartment door. Shirley was lounging on the couch with a face mask on. She slowly peeled it off and stood up. "Ms. Hawkins, you're trespassing!"
A piece of paper fluttered down.
Lola's voice was steady. "This apartment still belongs to Johnny's company. Didn't he tell you? If you didn't know, let me explain. This place is considered marital property, and half of it is mine. I don't need Ms. Wells' permission to be here. In fact, I can make Ms. Wells move out of my property right now."
Shirley trembled with anger. "Johnny won't let you treat me this way!"
Lola, in her high heels, slowly walked over.
Compared to Lola's polished look, Shirley looked a mess. Lola leaned in close to Shirley and chuckled softly, "It seems Ms. Wells doesn't know much about men. If he truly loved you, how could I bully you? I didn't plan to harass you, but you went to my father. He's old and has a weak heart. He can't handle the stress. Ms. Wells, you have parents too. How can you destroy someone else's family and life? I can't take it anymore!"
Shirley's lips quivered. "What do you want to do?"
Lola lowered her gaze and after a moment, spoke. "You wanted to make a scene, so I'll help you."
She raised her hand slightly.
The door was locked, and a burly bodyguard pinned Shirley to the couch, making her immobile. Lola used Shirley's fingerprint to unlock her phone and found a surveillance video of Johnny and Shirley passionately kissing in the hallway.
There were also clips of Johnny resting his head on Shirley's lap while she fed him fruit, and his demeanor relaxed and carefree as he worked. There were many such clips, totaling over 30 minutes.
Intimate and warm, like a loving couple.
Lola watched for 15 minutes before losing interest. She transferred the video to her own phone and handed Shirley's phone back to her. "A keepsake for you."
Shirley sneered, "Doesn't it hurt to watch? Johnny belongs to me. The one not loved is the homewrecker!"
The bodyguard slapped her hard. "Still so arrogant!"
Lola said calmly, "We're decent."
Shirley cried and cursed, "Don't pretend to be kind!"
At that moment, Lola's gaze fell on a man's jacket on the couch. She recognized it as the creation of a famous designer from Manilove, a luxury that only the affluent in Seattle could afford. It was Johnny's favorite jacket.
Now, it was in another woman's house, indicating he often came here. Lola found a small velvet box in the jacket pocket.
Inside was a necklace.
Engraved on the back was "Lola."
Shirley's face was swollen, and her smile was eerie and twisted. "Mr. Flores picked this out for you when we went to Lumina. He even had it engraved. Isn't it ironic? I helped him pick it out for you! That night, we watched fireworks together. He held my face, and almost kissed me! I could tell he was moved. Mrs. Flores, you were his first love, right? I think he found that feeling again!"
Lola felt a stab in her heart. But she remained expressionless. "His first love is dead."
Shirley was stunned.
Lola had Shirley released and walked up to her, speaking softly, "Ms. Wells, if it wasn't you, it would be someone else. You are not that special to me. I don't hate you."
Shirley didn't believe her. "How could you not hate me? That's impossible."
Lola smiled faintly, not explaining. She knew Shirley would never understand the complexities between her and Johnny. Shirley was just a temporary part in Johnny's life. Without the constraints of marriage, how could Johnny be tied to just one relationship?
Lola left.
When she got into the car, the bodyguard asked if she needed him to drive. Lola leaned back in the seat and shook her head. "No need."
Lola went to the law firm. She made several copies of the video and wrote a divorce petition by herself and then handed it to her secretary. "Have the lawyer handle this. I want the divorce as quickly as possible. All the necessary documents are together."
The secretary glanced at it and bit her lip. "Ms. Hawkins!"
Lola forced a smile. "I'm fine. This won't bring me down."
After handling everything, she felt drained.
The kids were at the mansion for the weekend. She drove back alone. The servant greeted her, but she didn't hear a word. She locked herself in the study. She played the video of Johnny and Shirley over and over on her laptop.
She watched the man she once loved hold someone else. She watched until she felt physically sick and disgusted.
Johnny left The Hawkins Mansion with several fresh red handprints on his face, and his mouth was bleeding. Even then, Frederick felt it still wasn't enough.
By evening, Johnny finally got into his car. His phone kept vibrating with calls from Shirley. He glanced at it and hung up. When she called again, he turned off his phone.
He stared at the sky, smoking half a pack of cigarettes.
When he returned to the villa, it was already 8 PM. As soon as he got out of the car, the servant approached him quietly. "Mrs. Flores came back this evening looking very upset and has been in the study ever since. Mr. Flores, you should check on her."
Under the crystal chandelier, Johnny looked pale. He slowly went upstairs and knocked gently on the study door. "Lola?"
There was no response, then he opened the door.
The study was dim, filled with the strong scent of alcohol. In the faint light, he saw Lola sitting on the carpet with a laptop on her lap and photos scattered around her.
The laptop was playing a video of a man and woman kissing, and their swallowing sounds audible.
Johnny's heart sank. "Lola."
She paused, then slowly looked up at him.
