Chapter 275 Remember to Go Home

Early in the morning, Lola jumped on Frederick, waking him up.

As soon as he cracked his eyes open, there was this golden-haired kid sitting on him, yelling, "Daddy, I gotta go to the bathroom!"

Frederick threw an arm over his eyes.

He really didn't wanna get up, but this was his kid!

He dragged himself up, helped Lola with her onesie, and asked, "Where's your mom?"

Lola chirped, "Mommy's making breakfast for me!"

Breakfast, huh.

Did the Hawkins family really need the lady of the house to whip up breakfast?

Was she really that dedicated?

Frederick was kinda zoned out, and since he wasn't exactly Mr. Handy, he was slow as molasses. By the time he snapped out of it, Lola was already bawling, and her onesie was warm and wet.

A few warm drops hit him.

Lola looked mortified.

Her little face was all scrunched up, crying her eyes out.

Charlotte came upstairs from the first floor, and when she saw Lola had wet herself, she was a bit surprised. But she quickly scooped Lola up and comforted her. With her mom's gentle touch, Lola squirmed a bit and stopped crying.

Charlotte got her some clean clothes.

Lola quickly stripped down, showing off her tiny body and big head, looking all kinds of cute.

Frederick sat up with his legs bent. "She can undress herself. Why did I have to do it? Otherwise, she wouldn't have wet herself!"

Charlotte was quiet for a long time before she said, "You took care of her before she turned three! She can do a lot of things, but she hasn't seen you for days. She misses you and wants to be pampered."

But Frederick had forgotten.

He'd forgotten not just that he loved her, but also how to take care of Lola.

After Charlotte finished talking, she went into the bathroom to run a bath for Lola. When she came out, she tidied up the bed and the floor.

Frederick watched Charlotte silently.

She looked like the perfect homemaker, so gentle. He thought that if he wanted marriage, he should easily accept her!

But he didn't like married life.

He felt it was too confining!

Frederick cleaned himself up, went into the walk-in closet to change clothes, and headed downstairs after washing up.

Downstairs, Patrick gave Frederick a quiet look.

He looked like a total elite, which was annoying!

Then he looked at the soft, tender Lola, and the more he looked, the more he liked her.

Lola, in her cute little dress, sat at the dining table trying hard to eat. When she saw Frederick coming downstairs, she was pretty forgiving. "I forgive you for what happened earlier."

Lola shook her little head. "I'm willing to give you a chance to make it up."

Frederick sat next to her, grabbed a cup of coffee, and took a sip. "How can I make it up?"

"You and Mommy take me to preschool!"

Frederick turned to Charlotte and whispered, "Did you put her up to this?"

Charlotte looked a bit annoyed.

She just admitted, "Yeah! You don't have to go!"

Frederick grinned. "Mrs. Hawkins, with you being so sneaky, how can I not give in?"

Then he cheekily pinched her soft cheek.

He thought the best part of this marriage was how perfectly she fit his type!

Patrick saw Frederick's playful behavior and got pissed. "If you're gonna talk, talk properly. Don't touch her! Charlotte's your wife, not some random woman! Show some respect!"

Frederick just smirked.

He didn't argue. He took Lola to preschool and even drove Charlotte back to the villa.

But he didn't go inside!

Charlotte wasn't naive.

She didn't expect him to come back to the family right away. She remembered his wild past. Even though he didn't mess around with relationships, he was pretty loose at social events!

Charlotte got out of the car.

Frederick stayed in the car, window down, lighting a cigarette.

Charlotte asked softly, "Will you come home tonight?"

Frederick leaned his elbow on the car window, slowly smoking, and smiled lightly. "If I don't come back, will you have my dad force us to sleep in the same bed again?"

Charlotte slightly raised her head.

This Frederick was such a jerk!

She took a deep breath. "Mr. Hawkins, remember to come home!"

Frederick's eyes sparkled, and there was a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth. "Mrs. Hawkins, are you forgiving me?"

Charlotte didn't indulge him!

She looked at him quietly for a moment, then turned and walked into the villa, into what used to be their home.

But as she walked, tears started to fall.

The deeper the love she had experienced with Frederick, the more it hurt now!

In the following days, he didn't come home!

She knew he was staying at an apartment.

Lola kept asking, and Charlotte gently comforted her. She felt sorry for Lola.

But she knew very well that trying to keep him with a child was absolutely impossible!

Frederick used to be unbridled in flirtatious relationships.

Charlotte was not without anxiety, but she had to endure it. She was pregnant and couldn't get angry with him or confront him directly.

A woman facing a man head-on always loses!

Early in the morning, after dropping off Lola, the driver asked softly, "Ms. Russell, are we going to the hospital for a check-up now?"

Charlotte lowered her eyes slightly. "To the company!"

The driver nodded and headed to Vertex Innovations Group. As soon as the car stopped, Cherie came over to open the door for her, looking a bit surprised. "Ms. Russell, aren't you supposed to have a check-up today?"

Charlotte, dressed in a white suit with her belly showing, gently supported her waist and smiled lightly. "I have some matters to handle."

Cherie was always attentive and considerate.

She knew Frederick had returned to the country and was happy for Charlotte. When they reached the top-floor office, Cherie naturally made some small talk.

Charlotte sat behind her desk, slowly sipping half a glass of milk, and suddenly asked, "Cherie, how many years have you been with Frederick?"

Cherie smiled and said, "It's been about seven or eight years!"

Charlotte looked at her and spoke softly, "Frederick has forgotten many things, and I'm very worried. I don't have anyone I can trust at Wise Counsel Law Firm! Cherie, I want you to go back to his side!"

Cherie was visibly stunned.

She wasn't a fool; she knew exactly what Charlotte meant. This was asking her to be a spy!

She was very troubled.

If she got caught betraying Frederick, she would be in big trouble.

Charlotte opened a drawer, took out a checkbook, and wrote a check for $2 million.

Additionally, there was a key.

"There's an 1800-square-foot furnished apartment in the Pearl District, plus a $2 million check! I think even if Frederick fires you, this will be enough for you to live on, and I guarantee you can return to work at Vertex Innovations Group!"

Cherie was stunned.

'That 1800-square-foot apartment was worth about $2 million, plus the check. Ms. Russell was really generous!'

Charlotte not only used financial incentives but also appealed to emotions. "I deeply love Frederick! But now that I'm pregnant, I don't have the energy to win him back, yet I can't stop worrying about him. Cherie, you can understand the situation of a wife and mother, can't you?"

Cherie hesitated for a moment.

She said, "Ms. Russell, rest assured. I'm on your side!"

Charlotte stood up, gently placed the key and check in her pocket, and smiled tenderly. "I won't interfere in small matters, but if there's anyone special around him, you must tell me!"

Cherie couldn't help but nod.

She felt that Charlotte had changed, perhaps because Frederick had provoked her yesterday?

Cherie left.

Charlotte made a call to Frederick, her voice soft and gentle. "Frederick, today is my prenatal check-up. Do you have time to accompany me?"

Frederick was at the law firm.

He was quite surprised to receive Charlotte's call. He hadn't been to her place in the past few days, and she hadn't called him once. Now she was calling him proactively!

Actually, he didn't mind going with her for the check-up. It was his kid, after all.

But he had a client meeting in the morning.

Frederick politely declined, making Charlotte feel that pushing it would be unreasonable.

She was very compliant, saying softly, "Alright, then I'll have Mr. Wallace accompany me."

On the other end of the line, Frederick frowned.

Mr. Wallace?

Keith Wallace?

He remembered that Keith used to work for him, managing his finances. Now he was Charlotte's subordinate?

And their relationship reached the point where he could accompany her for a check-up?

Cherie showed up at the law firm at 10 AM.

Frederick's assistant led her into the office, smiling. "Cherie, welcome back!"

Cherie was nervous inside.

She closed the door and looked at Frederick behind the desk.

Frederick didn't even lift his head, still going through documents, his tone indifferent. "Charlotte sent you over?"

Cherie didn't deny it and nodded. "Yes! Ms. Russell said I'm familiar with this business and can help you!"

Frederick smiled lightly.

He closed the file and chatted casually for a bit, then asked seemingly offhandedly, "By the way, is Vertex Innovations Group's Mr. Wallace, Keith?"

Cherie was slightly stunned. "Yes, it's him!"

Frederick's tone became even more indifferent. "Is he married?"

Cherie didn't understand why but still answered truthfully, "Mr. Wallace is 35. He was good but has never been married! I heard he doesn't even have a girlfriend!"

'Unmarried and no girlfriend.'

Frederick's attractive thin lips tightened slightly. "Alright, I got it. You can go now."

Cherie was about to leave with the documents.

Frederick suddenly asked, "What time is Charlotte's check-up, and at which hospital? Send it to me."

Cherie couldn't help but laugh. "Okay! I'll send it shortly!"

When Frederick arrived at the hospital, it was almost 11 AM.

Charlotte had already finished her check-up and was sitting alone on a hospital bench, quietly looking at the examination report in her hand.

Frederick walked over slowly.

Seeing her alone, without Keith, he knew it was a little trick of hers.

He wasn't annoyed, sat down next to her, stretched his body, and looked at her. "Let me see!"

Charlotte handed him the examination report.

"It's almost five months! You had already picked out a name, Kingsley!"

Frederick looked at the report. "It's a boy?"

Charlotte nodded, her eyes falling on his handsome face. At this moment, she wished he would suddenly remember and say to her, "Charlotte, I'm sorry; I'm late!"
