Chapter 480 He Never Thought About Being with Her for Long (Part 2)
The wool blanket slipped off, showing her in nothing but a black men's shirt, her body looking all soft and tender. Gavin kissed her hard! After their intimate moments, they lay in the dark bedroom.
Molly had always been scared of pitch-black places, especially small, enclosed ones. It made her super uncomfortable. This fear came from a bad childhood memory. When she was little, her nanny, annoyed with her, locked her in the storage room to play alone. The nanny forgot about her, and Molly was stuck there for 48 hours in that dark, damp place. When they found her, she was almost dehydrated. But now, lying next to him in the dark, she felt at ease.
After they were done, she felt gross and wanted to get up for a shower, but the 26-year-old guy had strong needs, and as soon as she moved, he pinned her down again.
Molly closed her eyes lightly. She couldn't see him, but she touched his handsome face and called his name in a soft, hoarse voice.
Gavin listened, feeling a bit dazed. In that moment, he really wanted to lean down and kiss her, to tell her to call him Gavin. But he didn't; he just held her tighter, letting out all those confusing emotions in this act!
With a snap, the light turned on! Gavin went to the bathroom for a shower, and when he came back, he was refreshed. He picked up the pants he had tossed at the foot of the bed and took out a velvet box, rubbing it against Molly's little nose.
"For me?" Molly, wrapped in a sheet, knelt on the bed, her face flushed with the afterglow of their intimacy, and asked happily. Her heart was pounding. Yesterday was her birthday, so could it be a ring in this velvet box?
Gavin smiled, his voice hoarse and gentle, "Open it and see." It was supposed to be given last night, but they were in such a rush making love that they didn't have a moment to spare. Giving it today felt a bit different!
Molly looked at him, then lowered her head and almost reverently opened it. Inside was a pink diamond necklace: a two-carat pink diamond, surrounded by small diamonds designed in the shape of wings.
Molly was a bit surprised, but also vaguely disappointed. However, she was easily satisfied. She quickly tried it on and asked him, "Does it look good?"
Gavin stared at her for a long time, his voice even more hoarse than before. "Beautiful!"
Molly asked him to put it on for her. Gavin suddenly felt a bit annoyed. He took a pack of cigarettes from the nightstand, lit one, and when he was about to put the necklace on her, she protested, "I'm afraid you'll burn me!"
Gavin took a deep drag of the cigarette. Then he stubbed it out. He looked at her deeply for a moment and said, "I'll cook something for you! Are you hungry?" He couldn't help but touch her long hair.
Molly looked at him dependently. After he left, she put on his shirt and went to the bathroom to put on the pink diamond necklace herself. She liked it very much.
Outside, Gavin called her to eat, and she realized she was very hungry. Her stomach was flat; he always liked to touch it and say it was too thin.
Molly blushed. She splashed some cold water on her face and hurried out to eat. Even though Gavin's motives weren't always pure, he usually treated her well. She couldn't really take care of herself, and since moving in, he had almost spoiled her.
When he was around, he cooked; when he wasn't, he'd make extra and leave it in the fridge for her to heat up when she got hungry.
Even so, she was still under 100 pounds, light and soft in his arms. Molly sat in the dining room, eating slowly.
Gavin stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, smoking quietly. He had a ton of documents to review, but he just couldn't get into it. He glanced at Molly unintentionally.
Gavin's eyes deepened. He flicked the ash from his cigarette, feeling even more restless. There were still three days until Saturday! He had to break up with Molly within three days.
Actually, it wasn't really a breakup; it was more like he was going to abandon her unilaterally! He had designed it so she would fall in love with him, become dependent on him, and then he would cruelly abandon her!
That was his perfect plan, and he executed it effortlessly. However, as it was about to end, he found no joy and felt no sense of revenge. Where did it go wrong? Was it because she was obedient, or because being with her felt genuinely good?
Gavin was a bit confused. But he didn't want to think too deeply about it. He just followed his plan. Since breaking up was the plan from the beginning, why not execute it?
Gavin wanted to speak, but just as he was about to, he saw Molly holding her plate, smiling with satisfaction, "Your pasta is really delicious!"
Gavin's heart tightened. Molly took her plate to the kitchen, and soon the sound of washing dishes could be heard. Gavin thought, 'I'll talk to her after she's done washing.'
A sound of breaking, followed by a sharp intake of breath! He stubbed out his cigarette and quickly walked into the kitchen, only to see her standing there, surrounded by broken pieces of the plate, with blood oozing from her calf.
Gavin cursed under his breath, "Are you stupid? Don't you know to move away?" Though his words were harsh, he gently picked her up and placed her on the living room sofa.
As he treated her wound, she nestled in his arms, crying out in pain. Gavin looked down at her. She was so small! You couldn't tell she was a year older than him.
Gavin had never known what kind of person he liked, but after being with her, he realized he liked obedient, well-behaved girls. After bandaging her up, he looked at her, wanting to say something but swallowing his words. He pondered, 'Forget it, she gets hurt. I'll tell her tomorrow morning!'
When Gavin went to the kitchen to clean up, Molly ran to the studio; she still had some work to finish. After cleaning up, Gavin didn't see her in the bedroom. So he walked to the studio door.
Molly was focused on her drawing, the desk lamp casting a perfect light on her profile, especially her straight nose with a slight hump, making her face look small and delicate. Gavin watched her quietly.
If you overlooked her inability to take care of herself, she was an amazing girl. She had a real knack for design. The piece that won an award years ago had taken the world by storm.
That wedding dress, after several rounds of bidding, he had finally collected it for $6 million! It was three years ago. He had acquired her first piece, and also shared her first sexual encounter.
Gavin walked in, glancing at the design spread out on the paper, and asked casually, "Is the client in a hurry?"
Molly didn't look up. She just said softly, "Not really! This lady isn't engaged yet, but she wants to be prepared early! I also heard she's a well-known socialite. You might know her from the business world; her name is Sarah Hughes."
Gavin felt very conflicted. He had never met Sarah. But he had seen her photos in magazines and newspapers, and he didn't like her. Yet she had ordered a wedding dress from Molly!
Molly was kept in the dark. She was quietly drawing the wedding dress, just as she had many times before.
Suddenly, Gavin felt restless and couldn't stay there any longer. He abruptly walked out of the studio. The stars were twinkling above, and the city's neon lights glimmered below.
Gavin knew that he and Molly had no future. If it weren't for Andrew urging him to meet Sarah, he might have indulged in this feeling a bit longer. But now, they needed to end it.
When Molly walked out of the studio, it was already past 1 a.m. She was always very focused when she worked.
The living room was dimly lit, but she immediately saw Gavin sitting on the sofa. She felt a bit guilty, "You're still not asleep?" Then she habitually wanted to snuggle up to him.
Autumn nights were always cold. But his body was always warm, and she loved to place her small feet in his lap.
The lights suddenly turned on. Under the crystal chandelier, Gavin's face was unclear.
On the table in front of Gavin were a few thin sheets of paper. One was the transfer contract for this apartment, and the other was a check for 50 million dollars.
Molly walked closer and finally saw clearly. She bent down, picked them up, and looked at them quietly. Then her eyes filled with tears, and she said softly, "Today isn't April Fool's Day."
"I know!" Gavin tried to speak calmly.
Gavin had already changed his clothes; his shirt was crisp, and his trousers were perfectly pressed. His elbows rested on his knees, and the well-tailored fabric accentuated his good figure. He looked perfect, like a male model in a magazine.
Molly stared at him blankly. She didn't know what she had done wrong. Was it because she clumsily broke a plate, or because she didn't keep him company and went to work instead?
Gavin guessed what she was thinking. His voice was indifferent, "Let's part on good terms! This is for you!" He finished speaking and was about to leave.
Molly wouldn't let him. Despite her timid nature, she dared to hug him from behind. She pressed her small face against his back and mustered the courage to say softly, "I don't want to break up with you; I want to be with you!"
Gavin's heart ached fiercely. He looked down at her hands, holding him so tightly.
Her pale fingers were clenched together, turning red. After a long while, he said hoarsely, "Alright, let go! I want to end this!" Then he cruelly pried her fingers apart.
The door opened and then slammed shut. Standing alone in the elevator, Gavin's refined face showed no expression. He thought he had achieved his goal. He had spent a little time and money to completely toy with her.
Molly would cry! Just like Chloe did back then, just like he did when he was abandoned.
He should be happy. But thinking of her crying, his heart felt like it had lost something. He even wanted to go back and tell her this was an April Fool's joke. But he was very rational. He knew that he and she could never be together. From now on, their paths would never cross again!
On the first floor of the apartment, Zack had arrived after receiving a call from Gavin in the middle of the night, asking Zack to come pick him up.
He opened the car door and watched Gavin lower himself into the car. Just as he was about to close the door, a slender figure ran out from the entrance of the apartment. She didn't even have time to put on shoes and stumbled over. She was crying, her face full of tears.
Molly had never been in a relationship before. When Gavin said those things to her, she was still confused. It wasn't until he left that she realized he really didn't want her anymore. He wouldn't come back.
Molly's eyes filled with tears, but she didn't cry out loud. She didn't want to appear like a tantrum-throwing child in front of him. She looked at him and murmured, "Don't go!"
Gavin quietly watched Molly. Her wound tore open again because she had been running so fast.
Zack was at a loss and called out, "Molly!"
Molly seemed not to hear. She stubbornly looked at Gavin.
She vaguely guessed that he never intended to stay with her for long, because there were so few things of his in the apartment. This apartment was probably bought to keep her! He was just infatuated with her body, and now he was probably tired of it. But she didn't want to believe it. She wanted to hear him say it himself, so she could completely give up.
Gavin looked at her, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He finally got out of the car.
Molly's body trembled slightly.
Gavin looked her over, his tone cold, "Go back!"
Molly didn't move.
He suddenly raised his voice, almost harshly, "Go! I never liked you!"
She seemed terrified, her tears falling like broken strings of pearls, one after another. Yet, she remained silent, just as she had during every instance of past abuse, enduring it all in quiet resignation.
Through her tear-filled eyes, she looked up at Gavin, even in anger, he was dazzling.
Molly smiled faintly, dazed.
Yes, he was so good, how could he like her? She had never been wanted by anyone, except for Nathan and Amanda.
She moved her cold feet, and after a long time, squeezed out a few words, "I don't want your house or money."
"Suit yourself!" Gavin's voice was icy, and then he opened the car door and got in. Zack, trembling, followed him into the car.
As the car started, Molly stood there quietly, watching the black car slowly pass by.
