Chapter 494 I Can Get Even Crazier (Part 2)
Molly was about to say something when Gavin jumped in with a grin, "She's not my girlfriend! She's my wife."
The landlord, catching on, chimed in, "Married young, huh? But you picked well. Look at your husband, he's a real catch! I've been running this place for years and never met someone so straightforward!"
Molly didn't argue, but her face tightened a bit.
The landlord, happy with the situation, started getting things ready.
Gavin pulled Molly to sit down, positioning himself to block the wind and shield her, and then he held her hand.
Molly pulled her hand back, "Don't touch me." After she spoke, neither of them said anything more.
When they lived together before, they had many intimate moments. Thinking about those times, Gavin's gaze deepened and his ears turned a bit red.
Just then, the landlord came over with a charcoal brazier, the fire burning brightly. He also brought a simple screen to block the wind, making it much warmer.
The landlady brought over the food. "Congrats to you both! May you have a beautiful child next year!"
Molly didn't want to speak.
Gavin sterilized the spoon and fork for her, smiling, "We're newlyweds, planning to enjoy a couple more years before that."
The landlady rubbed her hands, "Such a pretty young lady, it's understandable!"
The landlord nudged her, "I didn't want you to have a third child either."
The landlady blushed, pulling her husband's ear, "Dream on! You're too old for that, stop joking around and making people laugh at us."
The couple playfully bickered as they went back inside.
Gavin handed the sterilized spoon and fork to Molly, "Eat up! It'll warm you up."
Molly silently took them. The food tasted quite good.
She lowered her eyes and said softly, "Don't say such things outside anymore."
Gavin nodded and said, "Next time we go out, I won't say you're my wife, I'll say you're my girlfriend."
Molly's voice was soft, "Not even a girlfriend! Gavin, let's just forget about this after we finish eating. We're not right for each other."
Gavin didn't respond. He ate gracefully, occasionally taking care of Molly.
She wanted to say something more, but under the table, his warm hand gently held hers.
He leaned in and said softly, "Let's take a walk after we eat, then I'll take you home."
Molly didn't understand his intentions, but she couldn't leave now. Gavin's emotions were unstable, and she didn't want to cause any trouble at home because of a relationship.
She tried to convince herself. Deep down, she knew she craved this warmth. She wanted to enjoy it a little longer.
Gavin was very gentle with her, and Molly relaxed, her expression softening. They really did look like a newlywed couple. After eating, the old street ahead was livelier than before, with many young couples strolling around.
The old street was lined with shops selling trinkets. They weren't worth much, but young girls liked them.
Gavin pointed ahead, "Let's take a look."
Molly walked beside him, and soon Gavin gently put his arm around her shoulder. She wanted to move away, but a crowd came towards them, and Gavin pulled her into his arms. Her face pressed against his chest.
Molly was a bit taken aback.
Gavin's voice was low, "Disappointed? My chest isn't as firm as Clayton's."
Molly didn't respond.
Gavin held her waist and asked softly, "What about Clayton?"
Molly didn't hide it, "He went back to Syeattel."
Gavin was quiet for a few seconds before saying, "You know what I mean! No feelings for him?"
Molly didn't want to answer. She pushed his hand away and walked ahead, Gavin following.
At the roadside shops, Molly occasionally browsed. But she was used to good things and wasn't easily impressed. However, she did find a comb she liked, appreciating its texture and design. She picked it up and looked at it for a while, then asked, "How much?"
The shop owner, seeing their impressive demeanor, quoted a high price and even made up a tragic love story to elevate the comb's value. "Do you think this comb is worth $300?"
The story was quite amusing. Molly couldn't help but laugh. She ran the comb through her fair palm, "It's not worth that much!" But Gavin had already handed over $300.
Molly didn't want to speak to him but couldn't help saying, "It's not worth that much!"
Gavin looked at her and said, "You haven't laughed in a long time. The story he told made you laugh, so it's worth that price."
Gavin spoke with emotion, and Molly blushed.
The shop owner was also a bit embarrassed.
Gavin said calmly, "Keep it. We don't mind the $300, and it's not easy for you to run a business."
The shop owner was very touched. This customer was generous, handsome, and considerate.
Outside the shop, Molly still liked the comb. She looked at it under the streetlight.
Snowflakes were gently falling from the night sky.
Her profile was delicate and beautiful; her expression indescribably gentle.
Gavin couldn't describe his feelings at that moment. His heart was overflowing with affection. He touched her hair, "A comb makes you this happy?"
Molly said softly, "I'll transfer the money to you later."
Gavin didn't respond.
Molly looked up, meeting his deep gaze, and couldn't help but take a step back.
Gavin stepped forward, pushing her into a secluded corner. Nearby, the alley was bright and bustling with people. But they were in a dark, private space. As long as they didn't make a big commotion, no one would know what they were doing. Upon realizing this, they felt their body heat up.
Gavin knew it wasn't the right time, and he wasn't sure Molly would agree. But he wanted her so much right now. He couldn't wait to prove that she belonged to him.
He embraced her, lightly pecking her lips, with a hint of urgency, "I still have over $200 in my wallet!"
Just a few steps away, there was a unique hotel.
Molly couldn't refuse, because Gavin kissed her, pulling her tightly into his arms, pressing down on her so that she was enveloped by him, only her fair face showing, her red lips inviting pity.
Gavin kissed her deeply, held her waist, pressing her against him.
With his lips against hers, he murmured, "Molly, do you want me?"
