Chapter 57 A Man's Little Thoughts
Charlotte was a bit fiery. Upon her return, she didn't pay him any mind. Instead, she freshened up with a quick shower to rid herself of the lingering cooking scents, then leaned against the sink to tend to her skin care routine.
Frederick didn't treat her poorly. Just two days after she moved in, he delivered several sets of high-end skincare products. Charlotte didn't ask him about it; she just started using them. She figured it was one of those little gestures men make. After all, who wouldn't like soft and delicate skin?
After finishing with her upper body, Charlotte bent down to apply lotion to her calves. Her great figure made even such a simple action particularly attractive. At least Frederick thought so.
He walked over and hugged her from behind. Charlotte was startled but didn't push him away, letting him have his way. After a while, he asked warmly against her ear, "Are you on your period?"
Charlotte guessed he had calmed down and went along with it. "It started this evening."
Frederick stopped his hands but kept his body pressed against her back, seemingly in the mood to chat. "What do you want to do after the lawsuit is over? You can't just teach Sophie, right?"
Charlotte's mind was a bit scattered. She followed his lead. "After everything is settled, I want to teach somewhere else."
Frederick lightly bit her ear. "In a while, I'll send you to Novaria for further studies?"
Charlotte became more sober and understood what he meant. Their relationship wouldn't last long. When Frederick got tired of her, he would send her abroad, partly to compensate her and partly to keep her away from Ethan so as not to affect Chloe's marriage.
Charlotte didn't ask him sentimentally if he would visit her abroad. She knew he wouldn't. When he sent her away, it would be the end of them. If these were his rules, Charlotte was willing to follow them. She wasn't ungrateful.
Perhaps because Charlotte was so obedient, Frederick was in a good mood. He held her slender waist and told her a juicy piece of gossip, making Charlotte blush and her legs go weak. She looked so cute.
Frederick turned her around and pressed her against the sink to kiss her. This kiss was definitely different from before, filled with desire. Charlotte thought he was a jerk. She no longer doubted Frederick's physical condition; he had way too much energy!
Just as things were getting heated, Charlotte's phone rang. The ringtone indicated it was Lily. She pushed Frederick away. "I need to take this call."
Frederick reached for her phone and handed it to her, turning up the volume in front of her. Charlotte found it quite childish; their relationship didn't seem to require checking each other's phones. She didn't avoid him and answered Lily. "Hello!"
Lily, hearing Charlotte's voice, sounded puzzled. "Charlotte, what's with the tone of your voice?"
"What's wrong?"
Lily joked with her. "If I didn't know you were single, I'd think you were making love with a man!"
Blushing, Charlotte let out a small curse. Frederick leaned in, chuckling. "Can't argue with that!"
Afraid Lily would hear, Charlotte covered her bathrobe with one hand and ran into the main bedroom. "Lily, I actually have something to discuss with you. Can we meet up tomorrow?"
Because of Frederick's intervention, the Russell family's assets were unfrozen, and Charlotte wanted to repay Lily. Lily had also heard that William was out on bail and was happy for Charlotte.
After chatting for a bit, Lily got to the main point of her call. "I have two things to tell you! You know the Cooper Group is being targeted, right? Robert said Ethan was in a mess and might even go to jail! He totally deserves it; just thinking about it makes me happy."
She mentioned Ethan, and Charlotte was worried Frederick might be upset. She glanced at him.
