Chapter 566 I Need to Go on a Blind Date?
On such a quiet night, there was no need for words. The two of them stayed together silently for a while before returning to the master bedroom.
While Lola was taking a bath, Johnny stayed with Angelina.
He leaned against the bed, his long fingers gently stroking Angelina's soft cheeks, while he looked up various information on his phone.
Angelina dreamt of being on the grass with her mom, dad, Darren, and Bobby, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Johnny couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her. When he looked up, he thought he could never love her enough!
Lola came out of the bathroom and happened to see this scene.
She walked over quietly. "Go take a shower; it's getting late!"
Johnny, however, wanted to step outside for a smoke. Lola stopped him. "Weren't you planning for a baby?"
He sat back down and pulled her into his arms, his blue eyes locking onto hers. "What did you say?"
With that, Lola couldn't say anything more.
She wanted to get up, but her body was firmly held by him. Johnny whispered in her ear, his voice slightly hoarse, "I heard that being more intense during that can make it easier to conceive! Next time, can you be more into it?"
Lola's face flushed. "Go take a shower!"
Johnny chuckled lightly. He hadn't smiled much in recent years, and this smile seemed to dispel the hostility around him, making him appear much more pleasant.
He gently caressed her face, then her neck, and further down.
The lights were bright, and Lola felt ashamed.
After a while, Johnny was actually aroused, but he could see that Lola was very concerned about Angelina, so he held back his desire.
From that night on, their relationship improved a lot.
On Saturday, Frederick started calling everyone back. The villa was bustling with activity.
Angelina loved going to Frederick's house. She also liked Gavin's son, Leopold Devereux, who usually had a stern little face but turned into a crybaby in his mom's arms.
Angelina brought Bobby with her, wanting to show off in front of Leopold.
A black Range Rover slowly drove into the villa.
Johnny got out of the car, opened the back door, and carried Angelina out, who was holding Bobby.
Leopold stood across, frowning and asking Gavin, "Why don't we have a puppy?"
Gavin found it annoying, and seeing a dog reminded him of Molly petting a dog when she stayed at her agent's house.
They would never have a dog in this lifetime!
Thirty-year-old Gavin was mature and charming.
He looked at his son and snorted, "Once we have a dog, half of your mom's love will go to the dog!"
Leopold thought for a moment and finally gave up.
Compared to a dog, mom was more important!
Gavin looked up at the couple and smiled somewhat gloatingly. "Frederick has been waiting for you for a long time!"
Johnny patted Angelina, letting her play with Leopold.
He and Lola entered the hall, where the family was mostly present. Kingsley and Sienna were there, but Natalie had returned to Copenhegan.
Lola called out to her parents, trying to brush it off.
Frederick snorted, "Such a big event as getting married, and you just quietly did it? Who are the jewelry and wedding dress your mom prepared for?"
Lola felt guilty. She coughed lightly. "Angelina is already so grown up; there's no need to have a wedding."
Frederick knew her well and sneered.
Lola directly said, "But isn't Kingsley and Sienna still unmarried? Mom can prepare for them."
With that, Frederick turned his attention to his son. "Kingsley, at your age, shouldn't you bring a girl home? If you really can't, I'll arrange a blind date for you tomorrow!"
Kingsley's voice was lazy. "Do I need a blind date?"
This sounded like there was something going on!
Frederick let him off for now and looked at his younger daughter. Sienna immediately shouted, "Dad, I'm still young!"
Frederick then looked at Lola. "It's because you didn't set a good example for your siblings, dragging on without getting married!"
Lola smiled. "Dad, you're wronging me! This is all your teaching!"
Frederick was so angry he wanted to cut off her card!
Johnny gently patted Lola. "It's rare to be back; don't just bicker!"
Kingsley flipped through a magazine, casually saying, "Johnny, I suggest you stay out of it. They're always like this."
After saying that, he got up and formally excused himself. "Sorry, I have a golf game; my secretary is already waiting outside. Take your time chatting."
Frederick was a bit displeased. "Can't you reschedule?"
Kingsley fastened his diamond cufflinks, smiling lightly. "It is important."
From Lola's direction, she could see the parking lot.
Next to the black Phantom stood a petite figure, it was Amara. Lola guessed that playing golf was just an excuse, Kingsley mainly wanted to stay with Amara!
Kingsley walked to the parking lot, Amara opened the car door for him, and Kingsley bent down to get in.
Seeing Amara open the front passenger door, he frowned slightly. "Sit in the back!"
Amara uneasily sat next to him. She was simple-minded but not completely naive, especially with the recent rumors in the company about her and Kingsley. They said she was delusional. But she had no such thoughts; she knew she and Kingsley were not from the same class at all.
She couldn't bear to lose this job, so she ignored the unpleasant words. But she knew Kingsley treated her differently.
Just like today, even though they were going to play golf, he dressed very formally and looked particularly good.
She had thought about talking to Kingsley, but apart from being a bit harsh and often making her work overtime, he had never shown any other intentions.
If she said anything, it would undoubtedly be overstepping and wishful thinking.
Thinking about it, she suppressed it.
Kingsley closed his eyes to rest, and he could feel the cautious gaze from Amara; it was so interesting!
He opened his eyes, took an apple from the glove compartment, and tossed it into her lap.
Amara held the apple, a bit at a loss.
Kingsley patted the creases on his trousers and asked leisurely, "Don't like it? Then let's go eat something else!"
Amara mustered up her courage. "Didn't you have a golf appointment?"
"It's canceled now! By the way, I'm planning to move to an apartment near the company. I don't like having a nanny where I live. You can stay there and take care of me."
He said it so casually, and Amara was stunned.
She thought, 'Living in his apartment to take care of him? Isn't that cohabitation?'
She only dared to resist a little. "I'm not used to living in someone else's home!"
Kingsley's long fingers tapped his knee, the action was incredibly pleasing to the eye. He thought for a moment. "Then let the company rent you an apartment nearby! How about $20,000 a month for rent? You can prepare three meals a day for me, do the laundry, and handle simple cleaning."
Amara felt it was inappropriate. But for the money, she acquiesced.
Kingsley was in a great mood. He instructed the driver. "Drive to the apartment near the company."
The driver nodded and turned the car around.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a large building. Kingsley gracefully got out of the car and then looked at Amara inside. "Aren't you getting out?"
Amara got out and walked to his side, saying, "That was fast!"
Kingsley raised an eyebrow and looked at her.
Amara immediately clarified, "Your efficiency is impressive!"
Kingsley, looking very dignified, led her to the elevator to the top floor. When the door opened, Amara was stunned. Although it was called an apartment, this duplex was at least 4,000 square feet. The decor was very warm.
Kingsley saw the sparkle in her eyes, his vanity satisfied. He tossed the key card at the entrance and started changing his shoes. "If you like it, you can choose a bedroom."
Amara said softly, "I'll just rent a place."
Kingsley didn't force her. He walked to the kitchen and looked at the fridge, which was packed with various fruits, vegetables, and meats.
He looked at Amara at the door, quite reservedly saying, "I want to eat."
Amara, only 22, didn't want to be anyone's nanny.
But Kingsley offered too much!
She immediately took off her jacket, saying, "I'll cook right away!"
But after taking off her jacket, she regretted it. Because she was dressed for golf today, she wore a zip-up sports hoodie over a lace camisole.
She quickly pulled her clothes together, exclaiming, "I forgot!"
Kingsley was still standing by the fridge. He glanced at her, then slowly took out a bottle of milk, his voice even calmer. "If it was intentional, I wouldn't mind!"
What a cheeky remark!
Amara realized something. She could be sure Kingsley was interested in her. At this point, she should refuse and leave his life because a man like Kingsley wasn't someone she could easily get involved with.
But she needed the money! She could only pretend not to know, working by his side, even cooking and doing his laundry.
She naively thought that as long as he didn't say it outright, she could keep this job and also get the $20,000 monthly rent.
Amara was much quieter than usual. Her cooking skills weren't great, and the dishes she made in an hour were not satisfactory.
When she brought out the dishes, Kingsley was already waiting at the dining table.
She said, a bit embarrassed, that it didn't taste good.
Kingsley glanced at her, picked up a fork, and started eating. After taking a bite, he ate the rest without showing any emotion. Finally, he put down the fork and said, "Have the company enroll you in a cooking class, as well as a flower arranging class and a basic housekeeping class."
Amara's pride was hurt. She softly said the other classes weren't necessary.
Kingsley leaned back in his chair. "Learning more things is always useful!"
He was used to being authoritative in the company, and no one dared to contradict his decisions, let alone a secretary.
Amara picked up a bowl to eat.
Kingsley looked at her, then adopted his authoritative tone. "I haven't finished eating, and you're already eating?"
Amara immediately put down the bowl. "I'll order takeout for you!"
Obviously, Kingsley didn't like takeout. He glanced at her again, picked up the phone, and ordered food from a five-star hotel, also having a bottle of red wine delivered.
While waiting for the food, he watched TV and casually instructed her to tidy up the bedroom.
Amara changed her shoes and went in.
As soon as she entered, she was slightly stunned. It turned out someone lived here.
On the snow-white bed, there was a worn men's shirt.
She picked it up to put it in a bag, only to find a pair of black underwear underneath. Her cheeks blush slightly.
She wondered, 'Will I need to wash such intimate clothes in the future?'
Amara understood his intentions and wanted to get out of there.
But as soon as she turned around, she saw Kingsley at the bedroom door. He leaned against the doorframe, quietly watching her. After a moment, he said, "You don't need to wash that!"
Amara breathed a sigh of relief. She lowered her eyes. "I'll put it in the bathroom for you."
When she came out of the bathroom, he said softly, "If you like, you can stay here. There are five rooms."
Amara gently shook her head.
She actually felt a bit guilty towards Kingsley. She knew he had feelings for her, but she still took advantage of those feelings. She wanted to make food to his taste, so when she resigned, he might not be so angry.
Fortunately, in their later interactions, Kingsley was as picky as ever.
She vaguely felt she might have overthought it!
A proud man like Kingsley wouldn't be interested in her. He just wanted her to take care of him!
Amara learned over 30 home-cooked dishes in just a week. She also figured out Kingsley's daily routine.
She kept the apartment in perfect order. Kingsley's clothes were always neatly pressed, even carrying a freshly washed scent.
Kingsley sat in his office, lightly sniffing his sleeve.
It was hand-washed!
Didn't she know that frequently hand-washing clothes would hurt her hands?
He knew she valued this job, and he had thought about making it clear to her. Maybe he wanted to date her, not just find a nanny! But he wanted to enjoy it a bit longer!
Tonight, he would make her eat carrots! Amara hated carrots the most!
Just thinking about the life after work made Kingsley very happy. Recently, what he wanted to do every day was to tease Amara!
Then he called her to come in.
