Chapter 341 Frederick Got Angry (Part 1)

Leaving the clinic, he slid into the car.

Frederick's head was still throbbing a bit. He leaned back in the rear seat, gently rubbing his forehead.

Cherie piped up, "Mr. Hawkins, we gotta find a neurologist! Jacob's not cutting it."

Frederick was momentarily taken aback.

He muttered, "Man, a lot of stuff was on my mind, but it was like being wasted; I woke up and forgot everything!"

It wasn't Jacob's fault; his nerves were shot.

Frederick gently brushed off Cherie's hand, his handsome face showing a bit of disappointment.

He could have regrets, but he hoped Charlotte would be truly happy.

Just then, his phone buzzed.

It was Charlotte. Her voice was super gentle. "Frederick, you still out?"

Frederick's headache vanished instantly. He sat up straight, his voice a bit hoarse, speaking like he was talking to a lover, "What's up?"

Charlotte chuckled lightly. "I suddenly felt like making some baked chicken wings. Want some? If you do, I'll bring them to the office at noon."

Frederick suddenly felt like crying. He held it in for a bit before his voice returned to normal. "Then I'll wait for you at noon."

After hanging up, he thought maybe their marriage wasn't perfect.

But it wasn't that bad either.

He had her in his heart, and Charlotte was trying to get closer to him. In her heart, he was someone she wanted to cherish. That was enough.

Compared to many people, they were much better off.

At noon, Frederick happily held Charlotte and took a nap.

In that tiny 200-square-foot lounge, he held her, letting her nose be filled with his scent.

Charlotte didn't fall asleep. She asked him softly, "How much do you think I should donate for the school anniversary?"

With a lot of eyes on it, Charlotte didn't like to show off; she thought $5 million would be enough, both generous and not too flashy.

She told Frederick.

He closed his eyes and gently touched her waist. "That's fine."

Charlotte turned around and snuggled into his arms.

In the blink of an eye, the two universities jointly celebrated their anniversary.

It even became a hot topic.

So, it was quite a big deal in Syeattel.

Charlotte got up early, changed clothes, and put on makeup. She looked stunning in the red silk blouse paired with a sequined skirt. She didn't wear any expensive jewelry, just a pair of delicate pearl earrings and a watch.

Frederick was having breakfast and reading a financial report.

She came downstairs. Hearing footsteps, he looked up at her, his deep eyes filled with affection and a hint of dissatisfaction. "Charlotte, you're dressed more grandly than on our remarriage day."

Charlotte glanced at her watch and smiled.

The watch was a high-end custom piece from a top luxury brand, worth over $2 million, matching the one on Frederick's wrist, though his was simpler in design.

Charlotte said, "This is very low-key! I'm sure someone will be wearing fur today."

Frederick didn't quite believe it.

Wearing fur? If they got heatstroke, they'd have to call an ambulance.

When they arrived at the school, he realized what Charlotte meant; someone was indeed wearing fur.

And that was the newcomer to Syeattel's socialite circle, Tina.

She was wearing a black spaghetti strap dress with a green fur coat over it, paired with a set of jewelry, looking very elegant.

When Tina saw Frederick, her seductive eyes carried a hint of allure. "Mr. Hawkins, long time no see!"

Tina had hitched her wagon to the wealthy Sawyer Diaz, whose net worth was over $10 billion. But Sawyer, in his 50s, had a wandering eye and couldn't keep her satisfied. Seeing the mature and handsome Frederick, she thought of Charlotte's recording.

She didn't believe that Frederick, in his prime, could resist.

So, she boldly flirted, not even bothering to avoid Charlotte.

Frederick glanced at her fur coat, smiled faintly, and nodded coolly.

Tina was initially worried he might see through her, but seeing his demeanor, she got bolder. She took a glass of champagne from a waiter, gently swirled it, and her voice dripped with seduction. "Mr. Hawkins, besides repaying the school's kindness, I came to Syeattel this time to find a few young stars to make some movies. Sawyer's all in on this."

Frederick had heard that Sawyer liked making movies.

And Sawyer had an eye for beautiful actresses.

He glanced at Charlotte without showing much emotion, then said, "I haven't ventured into that field, but I do know a few stars. I can introduce them to Ms. Anderson another day."

Tina slightly curled her lips. She looked at Charlotte, showing a victorious smile.

Back then, she was trampled under Charlotte's feet. Now she returned in glory, even a man like Frederick looked at her differently. Maybe one day, he could become her guest.

Charlotte didn't take Tina's provocation to heart.

For someone like Tina, Frederick would have to be blind to fancy her.

Just then, Lily arrived.

After many years, Lily had gained some weight. Her second husband, Bradley, was elegant, holding her waist. They looked very happy.

Robert sat on a sofa in the corner, feeling extremely complicated.

He thought they wouldn't be happy.

Bradley loved to play around, and Lily had a bad temper!

But after marriage, Bradley never had any scandals, and even though Lily wasn't as she used to be, he didn't stray.

Robert's eyes were a bit envious.

Lily's gaze met his, and they looked at each other across the crowd for a few seconds before Lily looked away.

When she looked back at Bradley, it was with complete dependence.

Bradley had a project he wanted to discuss with Frederick, so he patted Lily's hand. "You chat with Charlotte for a bit; I have something to discuss with Frederick."

Lily didn't ask much.

Bradley's career over the years hadn't been smooth, but she never asked Charlotte for help. She didn't want to ruin their friendship and was very content.

Lily happened to have something to tell Charlotte. She pulled Charlotte to the restroom to talk in private.

"Charlotte, be careful! Just now, I saw from a distance that Tina was talking to Frederick in a way that didn't seem right. This woman wants to mess around with him. This woman's destructiveness shouldn't be underestimated."

Lily, as a woman, also feared that Frederick might not be able to resist and stray.

Charlotte blinked lightly. She turned off the golden faucet and slowly said, "Syeattel always has suitable men for Tina."

Lily was stunned for a moment.

Then she looked at Charlotte, seeing a calmness in her brows. Thinking back, Charlotte only had this look when Brenda was around.

Lily understood that Charlotte was going to deal with Tina.

Charlotte walked out of the restroom first.

Lily watched her back and couldn't help but think, 'If Charlotte and Frederick fought, it would be quite a sight, but unfortunately, I wouldn't get to see it.'
