Chapter 928 She Casually Discarded Their Wedding Rings! 1
Bruce and Lonnie didn't come to any conclusions.
Later, when Bruce was alone with Marcella, she was holding little Will, unable to put him down.
As she soothed Will, she said to Bruce, "Bruce, you're too close to this to see it clearly! You're only thinking about your feelings for Sienna, whether you love her or she loves you."
"But from the start, Sienna hasn't done anything wrong in this relationship and marriage. Even if she can't get over what happened with Freya, isn't that normal? If someone had died and she could still be all lovey-dovey with you, that would be cold-hearted."
"Given what happened, it's only right for you to be more understanding."
"Now you have a child, a son who's already this big. He didn't just appear out of nowhere. For over a year, you weren't by Sienna's side, and she managed on her own, taking care of him day and night!"
"You can't expect her to be the same as before. Now she's not just a wife, she's a mother too. It's natural for her to have some resentment towards you."
Marcella's eyes welled up with tears.
She had raised Bruce to be so outstanding, and he had always been exceptional, which had fostered a sense of superiority in him, making him unwilling to yield to women.
She actually liked Sienna a lot, and as a woman, she could understand her better.
Feeling sad, Marcella was kissed on the cheek by little Will, who was smiling brightly.
Will was adorable, with a sunny disposition that made him very likable.
Marcella, holding Will close, said to Bruce, "No matter what, you have to make an effort! Bruce, you two genuinely liked each other back then. Wouldn't it be a shame to just give up? Besides, with your personality, you probably won't meet another Sienna in this lifetime!"
Bruce was silent for a moment. "I understand."
Later, while the house was bustling with the excitement of welcoming little Will, Bruce stepped out onto the terrace, lit a cigarette, and looked through his phone.
There were still old chat records between him and Sienna.
Since their marriage, there had been very few messages.
Bruce's long fingers held the cigarette as he slowly finished it.
He sent a message to Sienna on Facebook: [Grandpa and my parents miss you.]
He couldn't bring himself to type, [Should I come get you?]
He was afraid Sienna would refuse.
Sienna replied: [Send them my regards!]
Bruce thought for a moment and typed a few more words: [I miss you too.]
This time, she didn't respond.
Maybe she didn't believe he was sincere, or maybe she just didn't want to reply.
Over the past few years, he had been very busy, and he had left the divorce papers untouched.
He might not have missed her that much, and living apart seemed easier for him.
Freya's death had indeed changed his relationship with Sienna.
But now, when he said he missed her, he meant it.
People are contradictory creatures. Once they lose something, they become anxious and desperately try to hold on, even if they still think separation might be better.
A relationship with some distance can last longer than one with constant closeness.
But a voice inside Bruce told him that Sienna didn't think that way. If they stayed apart, she would start a new relationship.
She might not remarry, but she would date someone else.
Just the thought of it made Bruce's gaze deepen.
At 8 PM, Bruce took little Will back to Sienna's place.
She wasn't there.
The nanny opened the door, and Bruce, holding Will, asked, "Where's Sienna?"
The nanny, taking Will from him, said eagerly, "Miss Hawkins just got back recently and has been meeting up with many friends. Today, she has an appointment with a Mr. Cook."
Jeremy?
They were still in touch?
Bruce felt uneasy, but he didn't show it. He kissed little Will and said gently, "Daddy will come back tomorrow."
Little Will, sleepy, yawned on the nanny's shoulder.
Bruce, seeing this, felt reluctant to leave.
Moreover, he was unhappy about Sienna going on a date, so he told the nanny, "Pack up, I'm taking Will to stay with me for the night."
The nanny was stunned and stammered, "This needs to be discussed with Miss Hawkins."
Bruce's tone was calm, "We're still married."
He took Will away, somewhat forcefully.
He was, after all, angry.
At that moment, Sienna was meeting with Jeremy and Anna, Bruce's secretary.
They were getting married, and Sienna had brought them gifts from abroad.
A pair of very expensive watches.
Anna, being with Jeremy and receiving the gift, wanted to say something nice about Bruce but felt awkward.
She also liked Sienna and thought Bruce had been too much of a workaholic, neglecting Sienna over the past two years.
The dinner was pleasant enough, and as Sienna was about to leave, she received a call from the nanny.
The nanny sounded nervous, "Miss Hawkins, Mr. Taylor took little Will, saying he would stay with him for the night."
Sienna was taken aback.
Then she smiled lightly, "I understand."
She put down her phone and didn't rush home. She thought Bruce should experience taking care of the child.
Sienna stayed out late, enjoying herself.
When she finally got home, she took a relaxing bath, did her skincare routine, and was about to sleep when she received a call from Bruce. "Can you come over? Will won't sleep!"
Sienna, lying in bed, found it amusing.
Her face pressed against the pillow, her voice soft, "Weren't you the one who wanted to take Will back?"
Bruce was silent for a moment.
In a gentle tone, he said, "Can you come and soothe him?"
Sienna couldn't bear to leave Will.
She didn't want to drag Will out in the middle of the night, so she asked Bruce to bring him back.
Though she was tired, she got up, dressed, and drove to Bruce's villa, which had been their marital home for a while.
Everything was as it had been.
The household staff hadn't gone to bed yet. Seeing Sienna, they greeted her respectfully.
Sienna asked, "Where's Bruce?"
The staff replied, "Mr. Taylor is upstairs trying to calm Will. He's having a hard time because Will isn't used to the place."
Sienna, feeling for Will, went straight upstairs.
The second floor was brightly lit.
In the bedroom, Bruce, still in his daytime clothes but with his shirt untucked, was awkwardly trying to soothe little Will.
Will, nestled comfortably in his arms, sometimes smiled happily and sometimes stayed still.
When Sienna approached, Bruce finally breathed a sigh of relief. He handed Will over and said softly, "He wouldn't sleep and kept crawling into my arms."
Sienna took Will and said gently, "He needs milk before bed."
Bruce didn't know that.
Sienna added, "I have some in the car. Go get the small suitcase from the trunk. I brought all of Will's things."
Bruce didn't leave immediately.
He looked at her intently. Sienna, soothing Will, said softly, "Go get it. He's hungry."
Though she didn't blame him, she was clearly not pleased.
Bruce went downstairs, opened Sienna's trunk, and found a small suitcase filled with Will's baby supplies.
Suddenly, he felt a pang of emotion.
It was only then that he fully accepted that Sienna had transformed from a girl into a mother.
Sienna was a good mom.
As Bruce was about to close the trunk, something shiny caught his eye.
He picked it up and saw that it was their wedding ring!
The ring he had personally placed on Sienna's finger was casually tossed in the trunk.
