Chapter 662 We Are Married
Amara was caught off guard. Marriage paperwork?
Seeing her reaction, Kingsley smirked. "What's the matter? Didn't you agree last night?"
Amara glanced down at the diamond ring on her finger.
Kingsley, always knowing how to push her buttons, chuckled. "Having second thoughts?"
Worried he'd say something cheeky again, Amara took a moment before replying, "Alright then!"
Kingsley, as usual, was cool and collected. "You're not being forced, right?"
Amara just shot him a look and went back to her breakfast, her ears and neck turning a bit pink from shyness.
Kingsley watched her for a while before saying lazily, "Go change your clothes."
He headed out first, probably waiting in the car. Amara finished her milk, her mind on Kingsley's question. She wasn't being forced. They had their ups and downs, but time had a way of healing things. They loved each other once.
After a bit, Amara changed and went downstairs. Kingsley was leaning against the car, the passenger door open.
Hearing her footsteps, he looked up and was momentarily taken aback.
Amara was wearing a cute white blouse and a black skirt with fringes. She looked young and fresh, like she was in her early twenties, not like someone who had given birth.
She sat next to him. Kingsley couldn't resist ruffling her hair. "Dressed like this, people might think you're not even legal."
Amara flashed her driver's license.
Kingsley didn't say anything, just stared at her. She asked softly, "Does it look bad? Should I change?"
His voice was a bit rough. "You look amazing."
He leaned over to buckle her seatbelt and, as he straightened up, couldn't help but steal a kiss, which made Amara feel a flutter in her chest.
After the kiss, Kingsley rested his head on her shoulder. "If it weren't for Jesse, would you have come back?"
Amara's voice was soft and gentle. "I don't know. But we have Jesse. We're together. We're getting married soon, and maybe we'll have another kid."
Lately, they hadn't been using protection, and she didn't mind the idea of another child.
Kingsley just caressed her face, spending a quiet moment with her before starting the car. At City Hall, Rebecca was already waiting, and everything went smoothly.
Half an hour later, they were officially married.
As they walked out, Kingsley was beaming. Amara could already picture their life together, with him calling the shots. But oddly enough, instead of feeling discomfort in that, she felt a sense of belonging.
She looked up at him, her eyes full of trust and a hint of love. Kingsley caught her gaze and offered a warm smile before starting the car. In high spirits, he turned on the radio, and soon the car was filled with soothing melodies.
He gently held Amara's hand and said, "Mrs. Hawkins, it's time to buy me a wedding ring."
Amara said softly, "I only have twenty thousand dollars in my account."
Kingsley glanced at her. "That's plenty."
He took her to the mall, already having a ring in mind. The simple band looked perfect on his long fingers and was surprisingly affordable, just three thousand dollars.
Amara swiped her card, and Kingsley, quite pleased, had her put it on him.
Lately, Amara had been indulging him. She looked up at him and gently slid the ring onto his finger. Her nose tingled with emotion as she thought about their past. There had been sweet moments and mutual hurt, but in the end, they were still together.
Amara kept gazing at him, her eyes shining with deep, unmistakable love.
Kingsley, seeming to sense the weight of the moment, clasped her hand warmly. Ignoring the crowd around them, he leaned in and kissed her, holding her carefully yet firmly in his arms.
It was a brief kiss, but Kingsley's noble demeanor drew a lot of attention. Amara blushed when they got back in the car.
Today, Kingsley had been wanting to kiss her. In the empty parking lot, he leaned over and kissed her slender neck, whispering, "I didn't expect you to agree so quickly, so it's a bit rushed! Tonight, let's go to a hotel and celebrate alone?"
Amara knew exactly what his celebration meant. She blushed. "Take it easy with the sex stuff! In the future..."
Kingsley's blue eyes watched her, and he spoke bluntly. "When I'm overwhelmed with desire, I just want to make love to you all night."
Amara couldn't handle such words.
As Kingsley spoke, he became more passionate, pulling her onto his lap to kiss. When adults were alone, it was naturally not just about kissing. But they couldn't actually have sex.
In the end, Amara, blushing, gave him a handjob. When it was over, she leaned on his shoulder, the car filled with the scent of passion, and she didn't dare look at him.
Kingsley, however, said, "Ms. Butler, we're married now; why are you still so reserved?"
Newlyweds always did impulsive things. In the end, Kingsley couldn't resist and took Amara to that apartment, where they made love all morning. And Amara was completely lost in it.
When she woke up again, it was already three in the afternoon. Just then, Landon called and asked Amara to pick up Matthew's ex-wife, Briana, from the airport.
Amara hung up and was lost in thought for a moment.
Landon had two reasons for asking her to pick up Briana: it would be beneath him to do it himself, and Amara, as the CEO of the Seattle branch and Landon's confidante, was the perfect choice.
Amara thought, 'Briana's visit is definitely not a good sign.'
She sighed, lifted the thin blanket, and went to the bathroom to wash up. Looking in the mirror, she saw the dense kiss marks on her body and thought Kingsley was simply shameless.
After showering, she wrapped herself in a dry towel.
Kingsley hugged her from behind, kissing her pale shoulder. "Why are you up?"
He dried her off, his hands lingering and wandering on her body, which made her blush.
Amara turned around and hooked her arms around his neck, her eyes clear. "I have to go to the airport to pick someone up! It's for work."
He asked, "Landon's arrangement, right? He isn't happy himself, so he drags you into it too!"
Amara leaned in and kissed his chin, somewhat coquettishly.
Kingsley's heart softened. "You can go! But you need to eat something first. I'll take you there!"
