Chapter 83 Love Him Again

Julia glanced at Ethan. He raised his arm to cover his eyes, his voice rough. "Get out!"

Tears still clung to Julia's face as she adjusted her clothes. When she stood up from the couch, her legs were shaking, barely able to hold her up. But she didn't dare stay and upset him more. She forced herself to walk out of the room.

As soon as she closed the door, she heard the sound of shattering glass and a wail like a wounded animal.

She thought, 'Even a tough guy like him can have deep feelings. That girl Charlotte must be so happy, being loved by someone like Mr. Cooper.'

Henry heard the noise and came over. Seeing Julia, he scolded, "How are you serving Mr. Cooper?"

Julia's lips were almost bleeding from biting them. She hugged herself, her voice trembling. "Mr. Cooper mistook me for someone else. I told him I wasn't, and he got angry."

Henry was impatient. He glanced at the door and lectured Julia, "This is a small matter! Even if Mr. Cooper mistook you for a clove of garlic, you have to say he has good taste! You have to make the guests happy if you want to make money here!"

Julia lowered her head, not daring to resist.

Henry wanted her to apologize to Ethan, but just then, a guest specifically requested Julia to join him for drinks. Not wanting to offend any guest, Henry sent Julia over.

After arranging for Julia, Henry went to apologize to Ethan. When he opened the door, the room reeked of alcohol! The floor was covered with shards of glass from fine imported liquor.

Ethan had opened two more bottles for himself. Seeing Henry come in, he just lifted his eyelids and downed his drink in one gulp.

Henry poured him more wine, offering comforting words. "Mr. Cooper, it's not worth it to hurt yourself over a woman!"

Ethan squinted. "Who told you?"

Henry drank with him and said, "You used to be such a carefree person!"

Ethan was momentarily dazed. Indeed, he never used to get upset over women. Even during his years with Charlotte, he had other women on the side. He would satisfy his physical needs with other women and then go talk about love with Charlotte. A light kiss could make Charlotte happy for a long time.

Ethan lit a cigarette, slowly exhaling the smoke. He asked Henry, "If a woman has been physically involved, would she be more devoted? Would her affection last longer?"

Henry smiled ambiguously. "Mr. Cooper, what era do you think this is? There are no pure-hearted people like you anymore! For women, sleeping with a man is as simple as drinking coffee! It's all about the feeling. If the feeling is right, it can happen. Just like Julia, she's young and looks innocent. Weren't you satisfied with her last time? Don't be angry. Give her a break."

Ethan had actually forgotten her until Henry mentioned her. "Where is she?" He remembered Julia crying in a way that was quite endearing!

Seeing that Ethan was still interested in her, Henry cleared his throat. "She's in another room. If you like her, I'll have her accompany you next time."

Ethan said nothing. He was in a bad mood and continued drinking, getting thoroughly drunk.

When he was drunk, all he could think about was Charlotte sitting on Frederick's lap, kissing him with that shy yet passionate look, driving Ethan mad!

He was drunk, but it felt like a fire was burning inside him. He even wanted to rush to Frederick's house and drag Charlotte out. He wanted to tell her he regretted it and that he could give up the power brought by the Hawkins family and be with her.

He just wanted to beg her to love him!

It was only when he was this drunk that he suddenly realized that being loved by Charlotte was the happiest time of his life.
