Chapter 512 Who Are You Messing With? It's Johnny!

After a moment, Lola spoke softly, "No need, I'll grab a cab."

Then she left, looking all carefree.

Johnny just sat there. The crystal glass on the table showed his reflection—handsome, but totally disheveled.

He knew this place. Frederick and Charlotte had been here before. That Christmas, they broke up. Charlotte had dinner here with Bradley while Frederick stood outside in the winter snow for two hours.

He thought, 'Love, what a cycle!'

The weather was freezing, and Lola took a breath of the chilly air as she stepped out.

Just as she was about to hail a cab, her phone rang.

It was Frederick, sounding pretty stern, "Come back right now! Andrew and Chloe are here."

Lola answered, "I'll be right back!"

A taxi pulled up in front of her, and just as she was about to get in, a strong hand grabbed hers. It was Johnny! In a hoarse voice, he said, "I'll take you back."

Lola didn't move, just looked at their clasped hands.

The driver rolled down the window and looked at them. "Are you getting in or not? If not, I'm leaving."

Johnny handed over a dollar bill, and the driver seemed satisfied.

He smiled faintly and turned his gaze back to Lola. "Get in the car."

Once they were in his car and he was fastening his seatbelt, he asked, "Is it about Gavin?"

Lola leaned back in her seat and nodded.

Johnny steered the car towards the villa, and they didn't talk much on the way. When they did, it was only about Gavin and Molly.

Johnny said, "I didn't expect him to be with Molly."

Lola smiled faintly.

Half an hour later, the sports car slowly drove into the villa.

As she opened the car door, Lola paused and looked at Johnny, saying softly, "Gavin and Molly can be together despite their complicated relationship, and Gavin will firmly choose Molly in the future! But we, back then..."

Lola didn't finish her sentence. She thought Johnny understood what she meant. Johnny did understand. He sat in the car, watching her walk towards the villa.

Inside the villa's living room, Frederick and Andrew were sitting face to face on the sofa, discussing matters in low voices. Chloe, who usually didn't handle affairs, was also talking with Charlotte.

Lola and Johnny entered one after the other, and Andrew forced a joke. "Lola's back!"

Lola greeted Andrew and Chloe. But Frederick looked at Lola, then at Johnny who followed behind. He glared. "Why did you two come back together?"

His eyes darted between the two, worried that Lola might have been taken advantage of.

Lola nonchalantly said, "We just had a meal together."

Frederick wasn't easily fooled. "Just a meal?"

Lola tossed her briefcase aside. "Dad, aren't we supposed to discuss the Hughes Family matter? Why are you chasing me about these trivial things?"

Frederick glared at her but let it go for now.

"Where's Molly?" Lola looked around.

Andrew replied, "Nathan and his wife are here too, keeping her company!"

Lola nodded.

Andrew, not in good health but very troubled at the moment, lit a cigarette and complained to Frederick, "The Hughes Family is already hard to deal with, we can't just fall out with them! The relatives in Copenhagen saw the news and are strongly opposing Gavin and Molly's marriage. They were causing a scene at the Devereux Mansion. Before I left, I told them that the matter was settled, and if they had any objections, they could take it up with the late Adeline."

Frederick smiled faintly. Andrew was always good at spoiling the kids! Andrew continued with a thoughtful expression, "This is Gavin's mess, let him handle it! The Hughes Family and those people from Copenhagen, let him deal with them. If he can't handle this, he doesn't deserve his current position."

Chloe wasn't having it and shot Andrew a look. "How is this Gavin's fault? If it weren't for your past actions, would Gavin and Molly be in this mess today?"

Andrew was terrified of Chloe's anger. He apologized while muttering, "Without the past, Gavin wouldn't have a wife now!"

Chloe's eyes reddened with anger. She might be getting older, but she still had a temper. After all, her parents were still around, doting on her.

Chloe stormed upstairs. Andrew called after her, but she ignored him and walked even faster.

Andrew felt embarrassed, but in front of them, he had to put on a brave face. "Don't mind her! She'll be fine by tomorrow!"

Frederick asked, "Aren't you going to comfort her?"

Andrew stubbed out his cigarette. "I'll comfort her; I won't argue with her."

With that, he quickly went upstairs.

Frederick smiled, then turned to Lola and Johnny, his face stern again. "What's going on with you two?"

Lola lazily stood up and said, "Dad, you and Mom can be sweet, but we can't have some fun?"

Frederick was furious. He stood up and pointed at her. "What do you mean by fun? Who are you playing with?"

Lola also stood up and mouthed 'Johnny!'

Kingsley, sitting on the sofa, rubbed his nose, thinking, 'Lola is really something!'

Frederick was very angry. He couldn't do anything about Lola, so he questioned Johnny, "Are you just playing too?"

Johnny replied with restraint, "I want her to take responsibility."

Frederick was barely satisfied.

Lola walked upstairs, waving her hand. "No way!"

Frederick felt very embarrassed. Although it was Johnny who had wronged Lola, raising Lola to be like this made him ashamed.

At this moment, Kingsley was flipping through a magazine. He said slowly, "Johnny is at least good-looking and successful in his career. The genes wouldn't be bad for Lola. At worst, she could have a baby. Dad, don't you think?"

Frederick looked at Charlotte. "Why don't you educate the kids properly?"

Charlotte sipped her milk. "When they were young, I wanted to educate them, but you always said they needed to be independent! Now that they're grown, how can I teach them?"

Frederick warned Johnny, "No kids allowed."

Johnny pursed his lips and smiled faintly. Lola was fierce; if he really wanted to have a child, she might strangle him in bed!

That night, the ones who couldn't sleep the most were not Andrew and his wife. It was Frederick!

Late at night, Lola took a bath, changed into her pajamas, and walked to the balcony. Feeling the night breeze, she thought about Gavin and the Hughes Family. This matter concerned Gavin's happiness, and she cared deeply, even though she usually loved to tease Gavin.

At that moment, she saw Johnny, wearing only a black silk robe in the cold weather, standing on the adjacent balcony, looking at her with a can of cold beer in his hand. He leaned against the railing, looking more relaxed than usual. He had been tense these days, but now he smiled nonchalantly.

Lola stretched. Johnny's gaze deepened, staring at her. Lola ignored him and walked straight into her bedroom. Johnny watched her leave, then took a big gulp of his cold beer.

He couldn't lie to himself. He might feel guilty towards Lola, but compared to the little girl who used to follow him around calling him Johnny, the current Lola was wild and dangerous. Even when he was on top of her, he had the illusion that she might bite his throat and kill him. That feeling was exhilarating!

Late at night, the city was silent. Gavin drove to the Green Group building. He didn't go up immediately but leaned back in his seat and smoked a cigarette. He had spent the entire day fighting with the Hughes Family. In the end, neither side won.

Gavin, young and full of fire, backed by strong support and fueled by anger, wanted to bankrupt the Hughes Family, but for now, he couldn't. The folks from Copenhagen wanted him to marry Sarah. Gavin, of course, wouldn't compromise. Even though he was surrounded by problems, he couldn't give up on Molly.

After finishing his cigarette, Gavin opened the car door and got out.

The Green Group's place in Seattle was a huge flat, over 2,000 square feet.

It was super late, but the people of the Green Group were still up. Seeing Gavin arrive, Amanda didn't scold him; she was pretty understanding.

In the past, she hated him for messing with Molly. But now that they were officially together, Gavin was considered her kid. Now that Sarah had pulled this stunt, as an elder, she naturally sided with her own. How could she help an outsider?

Amanda approached and touched his face. "I'll make you some food! Molly's in her room, go check on her."

Gavin nodded. "Thanks."

Amanda went to the kitchen, and Nathan, sitting on the sofa, said gruffly, "You should eat well; there's a lot to deal with ahead!"

Gavin exchanged a few pleasantries with him and then went into Molly's room.

Molly was calmer than he had expected. She had taken a bath and was sitting on a small sofa reading a book, her hair half-wet. Seeing her, Gavin's anxiety melted away instantly.

He went into the room, grabbed a hairdryer, and stood behind her, letting her lean against him as he gently dried her hair. Molly looked up at him, then put down her book and silently rested her head on his abdomen.

Gavin thought she was being very obedient. He bent down to kiss her and said in a hoarse voice, "Don't worry, I'll handle it!"

Molly didn't say anything. As her hair was almost dry, she spoke softly, "Gavin, you don't have to work so hard."

It was only the first day, but she could clearly see his exhaustion. She guessed that being with her would cost him a lot. For example, the career he had painstakingly built and his reputation. Marrying someone like Sarah would be much more advantageous than marrying her. She had always felt guilty towards Chloe, and now she really didn't have the confidence to be with him.

After speaking, she almost forgot to breathe. Gavin looked at her, slowly put the hairdryer aside, and gently rubbed her hair. "Don't tell me you want to break up."

Molly shook her head frantically. She hugged his waist tightly, burying her face in his chest. "I can't do anything, Gavin. I'm afraid you'll regret it in the future."

"I won't regret it!" Gavin pinched her nose. "I wish I could marry you right now."

After saying that, they both fell silent. They both knew they couldn't get married right now. With all the rumors outside, Gavin had too much on his shoulders.

Molly knew it was hard for him. She pressed against his abdomen and whispered, "We're almost like we're married now."

Gavin laughed. He bent down and whispered in her ear, "Then I won't leave tonight?"

Molly thought it was inappropriate and didn't allow him to mess around.

Just then, Amanda called him for dinner.

Gavin whispered in her ear, "Even if you wanted to, I don't have the energy!"

Molly bit her lip. "I don't want to!"

Gavin glanced at her and smiled. In fact, Molly quite enjoyed it.

He took off his coat and casually placed it in her room, and then pulled her out for dinner.

Gavin walked to the kitchen. He took a small bowl and served some soup for Molly. "I know you're afraid of gaining weight, so eat a little less."

Molly obediently agreed.

Amanda smiled and complained to Nathan, "Look how considerate Gavin is! Why aren't you thoughtful?"

Nathan was watching the World Cup final and hummed lightly, "If you turn back into an 18-year-old, I'll be considerate right away. At your age, acting all lovey-dovey will just make the kids laugh."

Amanda went over and tugged his ear. "When you're out socializing with Andrew, have you ever been considerate to an 18-year-old? You hide it from me, and I don't know, but at home, I serve your whole family."

Nathan begged for mercy.

Molly, in a bad mood, also laughed softly and looked up at Gavin. Unexpectedly, he was also looking at her, his eyes indescribably bright and beautiful.

Nathan and Amanda went to bed. Gavin took a shower in Molly's room. He felt very comfortable now. After the shower, he thought he didn't have the energy for sex, but holding her small, soft body in his arms, he felt an inexplicable urge and gently made love to her.

For a long time, Molly didn't come back to her senses. Gavin was still lying on top of her, kissing her nose. "Did it feel good?"

Molly came back to her senses. She felt a bit shy, and the worries that had been temporarily overshadowed by passion surged back. She gently hugged his neck and murmured an affirmation.

Gavin kissed her tenderly. As they kissed, they couldn't help but engage in a deep kiss, not really making love again, just kissing and touching each other. Until they were both exhausted, lying limp in each other's arms.

Gavin kissed her hair and said hoarsely, "Stay home these days; don't go out."

He didn't want her to be hurt by the rumors. Molly was so timid and fragile; he couldn't bear the thought of her hearing those hurtful words.

But Molly shook her head, leaned against his shoulder, and said, "Gavin, I can't stay home forever! If I want to be with you, I don't want to hide at home enjoying your protection while you face the storms outside. That way, I wouldn't deserve to be with you. I have a job, I need to work and live normally. Those words and things can't hurt me!"

Gavin still couldn't bear it. But he had to admit, Molly was right; she couldn't hide forever. Then he hugged her and asked softly, "Molly, do you regret it?"

Molly shook her head. She liked Gavin, she didn't regret it. Even when the news came out, she felt relieved. What she cared about most was still Chloe.

At that time, she received a call from Chloe, who said, "Molly, Gavin and his father will handle everything, you don't need to worry."

Now Molly was fine. But in the afternoon, she had secretly cried for a long time. She cried and laughed. She felt unworthy, but she also clung to this family. She not only loved Gavin but also loved everyone in this family.

Gavin got up at dawn. He received a call from Lola, her voice cold. "The Hughes Family wants to negotiate with us! I agreed, Gavin, the negotiation is at my office at 10 AM."

Gavin held the phone in one hand and fastened his silver belt buckle with the other. He sneered, "Alright! I'll be there!"

Lola paused. "With Sarah's actions, the Hughes Family is in a passive position. They might propose a marriage alliance! Gavin, they've invited shareholders from the Devereux Group to the negotiation, and they've already arrived from Copenhagen. Be prepared."

Gavin had a bad temper, similar to Frederick, but deep down, he was most like Andrew, not liking to be threatened. The Hughes Family was pressing him step by step; he had no reason to retreat. They wanted him to marry Sarah? It was mpossible!

Gavin went downstairs and came back up with a document in hand, the topmost being a prenuptial agreement. He wanted to marry Molly. At least legally, he wanted to be her husband immediately!
