Chapter 570 The First Time Falling in Love, Being Toyed With!

A minute later, Kingsley got a message.

It had an address, a city near Syeattel, and some information about Amara's background and social circle.

There was also a photo of Amara with a skinny guy.

The guy looked around 23 or 24, pale and kind of sad-looking.

He thought, 'Her sick boyfriend!'

She sold the bracelet he gave her for $800,000 to pay for the guy's medical bills. To her, Kingsley was nothing.

All his time and care were just an act on her part.

Kingsley, coming from a noble background, never took women seriously. This was the first time he fell for someone, only to get played. How could his pride handle that?

Sitting quietly in the living room, he tossed his phone aside and threw the bracelet in the trash, resolving never to look for her again.

But she better not cross his path, or he wouldn't let her off easy.

There was a gentle knock on the door. "Kingsley!"

Kingsley looked up and saw Frederick.

"Dad!" he called out softly.

Frederick smiled faintly and walked in.

He sat across from Kingsley, noticing his sour expression, and smiled. "Didn't you move out recently? Why are you coming home so often lately?"

Kingsley stayed calm. "Don't you want me to come back?"

Frederick patted his pants casually. "I'm just worried you won't find a wife! What about that secretary? Jared said you were interested in her. Did you scare her away?"

Kingsley leaned back on the sofa, flipping through a magazine. "We weren't suitable."

"I see!" Frederick looked a bit disappointed. Jared had made it sound like Kingsley had finally found a girlfriend.

What a pity, his son with such good prospects was wasting his youth.

Frederick forced a smile. "At your age, I was about to meet your mother!"

Kingsley lazily replied, "You said 'about to meet'!"

Frederick could only say, "Alright, come downstairs for dinner! Lola and Johnny just arrived, and Angelina is here too!"

After saying that, he went downstairs first.

Kingsley sat alone for a while, mourning his only moment of affection. After a long time, he got up, but before leaving, he picked up the bracelet and threw it into a drawer.

When he went downstairs, he was still feeling lazy.

Lola had already heard that Kingsley had been heartbroken.

During dinner, she said softly, "Andrew came over a few days ago and talked to Mom and Dad about a marriage proposal. The girl is quite nice and well-matched with our family."

Kingsley looked up and quietly observed Lola.

Frederick and Charlotte were looking at him. After a moment, Kingsley said indifferently, "Sounds good! Go ahead and arrange it!"

He just thought that since his only affection had led nowhere, he might as well find a suitable woman to marry!

Frederick let out a sigh of relief, but his heart still felt heavy. Deep down, he kind of wished Kingsley would say no.

Kingsley agreed so quickly, it seemed like he was hurting inside.

Kingsley didn't eat much. After finishing, he headed back upstairs to his room.

Angelina, who was pretty attached to him, followed and asked for a story. Kingsley put her on his lap and started telling a story absentmindedly, but soon found himself staring at her face in a daze.

He thought Angelina looked a bit like Amara.

Then he smiled wryly. What was he thinking? It was just a mistake.

After that, Kingsley started going on blind dates. But they never went well; he was too picky.

Photos of him dining and dating with socialites popped up in major financial and entertainment sections, almost with a new girl every month. People gossiped that Kingsley was a playboy.

In a small café in Stellaria City, Amara, dressed in a server's uniform, quietly watched Kingsley on the big screen.

He was dining and dating a socialite, still looking as elegant and noble as ever. Their ill-timed relationship seemed to have left no mark on him.

Although she knew he had looked for her.

He probably knew everything about her by now and should be despising her.

Amara lowered her eyes, thinking this was for the best.

"Excuse me, could you clean this area?" someone called.

Amara immediately responded and carefully cleaned the table. She worked diligently and seriously, and the pay was decent.

But the money wasn't enough, so she took on two jobs, working 16 hours a day.

Amara didn't even know why she was so determined to repay Kingsley the $800,000. It seemed that once she repaid it, she would feel better, and she wouldn't be deceiving him.

The incident in the attic that night wouldn't be so disgraceful.

Late at night, Amara dragged her tired body to the bus stop.

The night bus came every 30 minutes.

It was raining, and the night was very cold. She hugged herself tightly, hiding in the darkness, trying to numb herself and not think about Kingsley.

But more painful than fatigue was the longing.

She felt like she was sick. Otherwise, why would she miss Kingsley? Clearly, they were the most unlikely people to be together in the world.

She broke up with her ex-boyfriend and paid $800,000 for him.

It was also raining heavily that day.

Amara walked in the rain, slowly squatting down, not even knowing why she was crying!

She just tried every possible way to make money, not daring to spend an extra dollar. Her daily living expenses didn't exceed $15.

When the café played news about that person, she allowed herself to look up at him.

Just like any ordinary person, looking at someone who didn't belong to her.

She spent two years saving up and finally managed to get $800,000.
