Chapter 558 Tonight, We Sleep in the Same Bed!

Lola didn't want to mess with him, especially when he was in one of those moods.

Johnny wasn't really feeling it; his mind was all over the place thinking about Angelina. He just wanted to mess with Lola or maybe see how she would react.

After throwing out a few more harsh words, he slowly made his way upstairs.

The light made his shadow stretch out long.

Lola watched him go, debating whether to check on Angelina. But with Johnny's attitude, she decided against it and went back to packing her stuff. She had just moved in.

When Johnny got upstairs, Angelina was already awake.

She was sitting at the head of the bed, rubbing her eyes. Normally, waking up in a strange place would make her cry, but with Bobby by her side, she was fine.

Hugging the puppy, she looked eagerly at Johnny standing in the doorway.

Johnny watched her for a moment, then walked over and sat on the bed.

He reached out and patted her head. "Does it still hurt?"

As soon as he mentioned it, Angelina remembered.

Maybe it was some father-daughter instinct, but Angelina threw herself into his arms and whispered, "It still hurts!"

Johnny rubbed her head again.

Half-awake, Angelina leaned against him, whispering that she was hungry. Johnny checked the time and laughed; she got hungry so fast.

He carried Angelina downstairs.

She was being pampered and didn't want to walk, and he was happy to indulge her.

This place was set up just for her, with everything a kid could need. Johnny carried her in one arm and grabbed a pink children's chair with the other, heading to the kitchen.

While he cooked, he let Angelina sit on the little chair.

Lola would come over to eat later.

He cooked while chatting with Angelina. He hadn't been around for her early years.

He wanted to know about her childhood.

Luckily, Angelina had a good memory and could remember things from way back, which made Johnny really happy.

Out of nowhere, Angelina asked him softly, "Are you my dad?"

A streak of bright red blood stained his fingers.

Johnny was stunned. It wasn't until Angelina asked again that he snapped out of it. He turned to her gently and said, "Yes, I am your dad!"

Angelina didn't say anything more, just looked at him.

She was only two and a half. Even though she usually called Darren "Daddy," she knew deep down he wasn't her real dad. She still wanted a real dad.

Johnny's heart ached. He had been struggling all day with how to tell her.

But Angelina was smart.

He rinsed the blood off with cold water, dried his hands, and walked over to pick her up.

Angelina lay on his shoulder, softly humming, "Daddy!"

Johnny held her with one hand, placing the other on her back, holding her tightly. At that moment, smelling the milky scent on her, he almost wanted to cry.

Bobby circled around his feet, looking pretty excited. Johnny grabbed a small handful of dog food for him and gave him some water. The puppy stopped barking.

As he kept cooking, Angelina clung to him.

Like a little koala, she clung to his back, whispering in his ear.

Even though she was sick, she was super lively and loved to talk.

Johnny wished he could hold her forever.

Lola came back to the villa with just a small suitcase. Most of her stuff was still in Novaria, and Johnny had already set up everything Angelina needed.

She brought her things in, and Johnny barely glanced at her.

"Put it in the master bedroom," he said, not really caring.

Lola saw Angelina clinging to his back and got worried it wasn't safe. She wanted to take her down, but Angelina held on tight.

Lola had to let it go and just told Johnny to be careful.

Johnny snorted, "I won't let her get hurt! I don't get you two, leaving the kid with a nanny instead of one of you staying with her."

She didn't feel like explaining, so she took her luggage upstairs.

Johnny watched her go, his eyes deep in thought. Angelina whispered in his ear, "Daddy, do you like Mommy like Darren does?"

Johnny patted her head but didn't answer.

Angelina, being so young, soon forgot about it. She only knew she would be living here now. But what about Darren? Could she bring Darren here too, so they could be a family of four?

She would definitely ask Daddy about it another day.

Lola went upstairs and opened the master bedroom. The decor was just her style.

The bed was big, and the covers were turned down, showing that Angelina had slept there.

She gently touched the sheets, then looked around at the furniture and the clothes in the walk-in closet for both men and women. It was clear this was set up like a marital home, and she figured there was a kid's room too.

What was Johnny thinking when he set all this up?

Did he think she had come back to reconcile with him? But she had other plans, and now that her motives were out in the open, what was he going to do with her?

Lola felt a bit lost.

She didn’t dare look around too much, put down her suitcase, and quickly went downstairs.

Dinner was awkward.

Compared to her, Johnny was super calm. He was really good at taking care of Angelina, probably because he had taken care of his younger siblings when he was young.

Angelina was also very well-behaved, except she didn’t like onions and would spit them out if she ate them.

"Just like when you were little!" Johnny said with a smile, looking at Lola, but his tone got cold after he spoke.

The atmosphere got weird.

Lola didn’t know what to say.

But Angelina was happy. "Mommy doesn’t eat onions either? But she told me she eats everything!"

Johnny listened to Angelina and looked up at Lola, naturally adding, "Oh, Mommy eats everything?"

He seemed to remember something. "Yeah, everything!"

He was clearly being cheeky. Lola stabbed a piece of steak and ate it aggressively.

Johnny chuckled lightly. He didn’t have much of an appetite. Most of the food was eaten by them. He instinctively wanted to light a cigarette but held back because of Angelina.

At 8 PM, two housekeepers arrived.

There were three of them. Both Johnny and Lola had jobs, so they needed help with the housework.

When Angelina took a bath, Johnny also washed Bobby and dried it.

He dressed Angelina in a onesie and carried her to the bedroom.

Angelina was small, so he decided to sleep with them.

Angelina rolled around on the big bed, feeling right at home.

She wanted to sleep with the puppy.

Johnny couldn't handle three people and a dog in the bed.

After a lot of coaxing, Angelina finally agreed to move Bobby's dog bed over. It was pink, and the spotted puppy looked adorable lying in it.

Angelina was super excited, her little nose breathing out warm air.

Johnny held Angelina, feeling she was both thin and chubby at the same time.

Angelina lay under the covers.

He leaned against the bed, reading her a fairy tale book he had picked out, with endless patience.

Angelina rested her head on his arm, listening.

By 9:30, Angelina finally fell asleep, her little face warm.

Johnny couldn't bear to look away. After a while, he gently pulled his arm back and walked to the walk-in closet. Lola was still organizing her luggage, which she had been working on for over an hour.

Johnny leaned against the door.

He watched her quietly. Her face showed little expression, neither resistance nor much happiness.

After all, she had come back to have a child. And she had long given up on their relationship.

Johnny spoke softly, "Such little luggage, does it mean you're planning to leave again? Planning to leave me with Angelina and Darren as soon as you get pregnant?"

Under the crystal light, Lola lowered her eyes.

It was late, and she was quite tired, not wanting to argue with him.

She shook her head. "No! I didn't have that plan."

Johnny stared at her intently.

Suddenly, he closed the door behind him and walked towards her, step by step, pinning her against the closet door.

Their bodies pressed together, and he lowered his head.

Lola gently turned her face away, not resisting completely.

Johnny paused, his voice hoarse. "So obedient! Are you worried I won't sleep with you?"

"No!" Lola's voice trembled a bit.

Actually, they had done it the night before last, but now it was different. That night she had a purpose, and she had drunk a bit, doing it all in one go.

But now, both were very sober, and there was no impulse.

Outside, their child was even sleeping.

Her face felt a bit hot.

Johnny was only an inch away from her, staring at her trembling lips, he asked in a low voice, "Have you told Darren?"

Lola looked up at him.

Johnny chuckled lightly, reaching out to touch her blood-red earlobe. "Being with me, don't you need to report to him? At least, he's your current boyfriend."

Those words, he said through gritted teeth.

Actually, he wanted to ask much more.

Lola calmed down, smiling faintly. "No need! It's none of your business!"

Johnny nodded. "Indeed!"

After speaking, he let go of her and walked towards the door. Holding the doorknob, he spoke again, "I demand we share a room! Also, I'm having surgery tomorrow, and I want you to accompany me!"

Lola wanted to refuse. "It's just a minor surgery!"

"But I want you with me!" He was very insistent! It wasn't that he was scared or needed her there; he just wanted her by his side in every situation from now on, so she couldn't run away again!

He was so forceful that Lola didn't insist further.

She needed his cooperation.

The door closed again, and Johnny leaned against it, taking in everything in the room that had been meticulously prepared.

Now, there were two more people.

Bobby barked once, but he ignored it, walking straight to the bed and bending down to kiss Angelina's forehead.

Angelina turned over. She held a pillow in her arms, her small body soft and her little butt round.

Johnny wished he could watch her all the time.

Back then, was Frederick the same way with his children?

If he and Lola had another child, he hoped it would be a boy.

Boys were strong, even if they get sick, they could endure it. Unlike Angelina, who needed her parents to comfort her all the time.

He showered in the guest room, and when he returned to the master bedroom, Lola was in the bathroom.

Clearly, she was stalling.

Johnny lifted the covers and got into bed, half-hugging Angelina with one arm and handling matters on his phone with the other.

Angelina was almost asleep in his arms.

Johnny dimmed the lights, making the room glow softly, which made everything seem gentler.

Half an hour later, Lola came out of the bathroom, wearing a very conservative two-piece pajama set, clearly trying to lower his desire.

Johnny put down his phone, looking at her outfit.

He seemed to deliberately provoke her, saying, "Don't worry! I won't sleep with you now since you can't get pregnant, and besides, Angelina is on the bed. What could I do?"

"You're overthinking it!" Lola's tone was even more indifferent than his.

Johnny chuckled lightly. After she lay down on the other side, he turned off the light.

In the darkness, Lola couldn't sleep.

After a while, she whispered, "Actually, we could do IVF! It wouldn't be so troublesome."

Johnny was silent for a moment, then sarcastically said, "The night before last, you seemed to enjoy making love! If you really wanted IVF, why didn't you say so from the start? Now that we've done it, isn't it too late to talk about IVF?"

His words were harsh, and Lola was somewhat used to it.

Maybe she was just too tired to care.

She gently tugged on Angelina's little finger, looking at her small face in the dark. Looking at Angelina made her feel that all the endurance was worth it.

Johnny kept watching her. He couldn't see that she had considered their relationship. Lola now seemed like a puppet, mechanically complying with his wishes, just to have a child with him. As for their future, she had never thought about it.

This thought made him extremely uncomfortable, but he couldn't say it out loud.

Just like he wanted to ask about her feelings for Darren, but his male pride wouldn't allow him to ask further. So, in the end, he felt both love and hate for her, wanting to possess her but also feeling subtly uncomfortable.

The two of them lay there, and around midnight, Lola fell asleep. Johnny got up quietly.

He walked to the hallway, lit a cigarette, but it didn't ease his frustration.

His only remedy was Lola!

He wanted her to smile at him, to scold him, even to hit him, just not to be so cold.

He stubbed out the cigarette and returned to the bed with a bit of chill on him.

Lying behind Lola, he gently held her slender body, his hand moving back and forth on her waist, with a hint of desire.
