Chapter 535 Johnny is My Son
Johnny was pretty much obsessed with this relationship, almost to a crazy level.
Lola wasn't treating him like she used to.
She was kind of cold. He wasn't happy about it either, but he kept pushing on.
After a while, they were like strangers sharing a space, sometimes eating and sleeping together, but barely talking.
A lot of nights, Lola would wake up to find Johnny just sitting there, quietly watching her.
His stare was so intense, it felt like she couldn't escape it.
"Can't sleep?" Lola asked, sitting up a bit.
They had gone at it a few times before bed, and she was too tired to shower and change, so she just threw on his black shirt. It hung loose on her, making her look delicate.
It was rare for her to actually talk to him.
Johnny reached out, wrapped his arm around her waist, gently rubbing, and hummed softly.
"Is it because of Melissa?" Lola, being a lawyer, knew about Melissa's case. Melissa was definitely out to get Johnny. She thought for a moment. "Need any help?"
Johnny shook his head. "Nah."
He was a businessman, not a politician. Worst case, his reputation would take a hit.
Lola didn't push it. She lay back down, turned her back to him, and closed her eyes. Soon, she felt his warm body press against her back.
"Lola, you still care about me, don't you?" Johnny almost whispered in her ear, making it feel warm and a bit ticklish.
Lola knew he wouldn't let her sleep easily. So she just turned around in his arms.
Their eyes met, and she instinctively looked away, but Johnny wouldn't let her. He tightened his grip on her waist, his throat tightening too. "Lola, can we talk? We haven't really talked in a long time."
Maybe it was the night, but she let her guard down.
Lola wasn't as distant as usual.
Her face was pressed against the pillow, her hair falling over her face. Johnny reached out to brush it away.
Lola's voice was soft. "I thought you just wanted to make love."
Johnny's gaze deepened.
He stared at her for a long time, then chuckled lightly and leaned in to kiss her gently. "Besides making love, I like taking care of you more, Lola. Can we make up?"
Lola's voice was a bit hoarse. "I still remember you hitting me."
When she said this, her voice had a bit of a nasal tone, surprisingly sounding a bit cute.
Johnny just held her and kissed the tip of her nose.
She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
Slowly, he kissed her lips, holding the kiss until they both couldn't take it anymore. He then explored her lips to satisfy her. The passionate kiss made both their bodies tremble slightly.
Lately, they had done it a few times, but none were as moving as this kiss.
Lola was a bit breathless. She could hardly handle the kiss, involuntarily burying her face into the snowy white pillow. Johnny, unsatisfied, pressed her down into the pillow and kept kissing her, leaving warm traces all over her face. Later, their bodies intertwined under the blanket.
Until Johnny finally felt the desire, pressing hard, Lola couldn't help but wrap her arms around his neck, kissing him, and then he became gentle again.
This intimate moment seemed to last forever.
When they finally stopped, the sky was already light.
In the morning, when Lola woke up, Johnny was no longer in the apartment.
On the weekend, he went to work overtime.
So she fell asleep again.
Lola slept in until noon. When she finally woke up, it was the phone in the study that did the trick.
She went to answer it; it was Frederick. "Dad! Why didn't you call my cell?"
"Your cell's off, how could I call?" Frederick sounded a bit annoyed. He paused, "Where's Johnny? Bringing him back on the weekend, you two aren't even officially together, yet you're sleeping together every day. What if you have a kid? It'll be an illegitimate one!"
Lola sat in the leather chair, her long legs propped on the desk, swinging. "Dad, didn't you and Mom live together until you had me?"
Frederick was fuming. "Bring him back tonight. Your mom misses him; she talks about him every day!"
Lola smiled lightly. "Alright! I'll ask him if he has time later."
Frederick snorted. "He better have time! Or I'll deal with him! Not afraid of me hitting him."
Lola still smiled lightly.
After hanging up, she leaned back in the chair, gently spinning.
She thought about kids.
Both she and Johnny had rare blood types, and she had a clotting disorder. Having a kid with Johnny didn't seem like a great idea.
She also thought about the rubber ducks she bought last time, still in the car.
Just as she was about to get dressed and go get them, she noticed the corner of a document sticking out of the drawer.
Lola wasn't usually nosy, but the document caught her eye. She opened the drawer to take a look. Inside was a stack of Johnny's more private papers.
Lola gently flipped through them.
By the end, her face turned a bit pale.
These documents, while important, weren't that crucial. But Lola could see the source and destination of the trillion-dollar funding for the Wealth Management Group, as well as some other investments.
In summary, even if the Wealth Management Group lost all its money, Johnny would be fine.
No jail time, no jumping off buildings.
Johnny's net worth was close to $800 billion.
The recent drama with the Hughes Family was just an act. The Hughes Family was used by him, and she believed it!
Lola lowered her gaze and thought, 'Johnny is truly a born actor!'
No wonder Kingsley said he was forced. If he didn't deal with Johnny, Johnny would bite back.
Lola felt a bit complicated, but she still took a shower, changed clothes, and went downstairs to the car to get the two rubber ducks. She spent the whole afternoon playing with them.
When Johnny came back from work, he saw her squeezing the scene.
He took off his coat, walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and then poked his head out to ask her, "Why haven't you eaten?"
Lola said indifferently, "No appetite!"
Johnny walked over to her, squatted down, and gently touched her lower abdomen. "Could you be pregnant?"
Lola stuffed the rubber duck under his shirt. "You give birth yourself!"
Johnny looked down at himself, then at Lola. "Do you like playing those stuff?"
After saying that, he pulled her hand over to touch the rubber duck under his shirt. His slow movements made it particularly sensual, and the duck even made a sound.
Lola felt embarrassed.
A child's toy, turned into something else by him.
She pulled her hand back, saying indifferently, "My dad asked us to go home for dinner. Do you have time?"
Johnny took out the rubber duck.
He looked at Lola and said softly, "Didn't I just get off work?"
When they got to the Hawkins Mansion, it was already 7 PM, but Frederick wasn't home.
Charlotte didn't know where he was either.
She made coffee herself, saying, "Your dad went out this evening and didn't say where he was going. When I called, he just said he was busy!"
Charlotte looked worried. "Lola, do you think your dad has a lover?"
Kingsley was flipping through a magazine. He lazily said, "Mom, don't worry. Even if the world exploded, Dad wouldn't have a lover!"
He glanced at Lola. "Besides being with you, the only person he might spend time with is Lola! Luckily, Lola isn't clingy."
Lola gave him a light tap.
Kingsley didn't resist; instead, he leisurely glanced at Johnny.
Even after the storm had passed, he still didn't dare underestimate Johnny. Others might not know, but Kingsley knew his methods.
Without making a sound or spending a penny, he had staged a play and tricked Lola back.
The Hughes Family was in a miserable state now! But Johnny was unscathed!
Kingsley thought that Lola was smart and capable, a social elite. But when it came to cunning, even if he and Gavin teamed up, they wouldn't be a match for Johnny.
The two men silently competed.
Lola pretended not to see it. After a while, Sienna came back, covering her nose, clearly having an allergic reaction again.
Johnny naturally brought over the medicine box.
Sienna tilted her nose up, obediently letting him spray the medicine. From childhood to adulthood, it was actually Johnny who took care of his younger siblings.
Lola watched quietly.
After the spray, Sienna felt much better. She hugged Johnny's arm. "Thank you, Johnny!"
Johnny put away the medicine box and lightly reminded her to bring her medicine next time she went out. Sienna made a face and ran over to hug Kingsley, asking him for pocket money.
Kingsley squinted at her. "Didn't I just give you $2000,000 last week?"
Sienna huffed. "All my money is with you. If I don't ask you, who else can I ask?"
Kingsley continued reading his magazine.
After a while, he slowly said, "You're too naive, easily tricked by bad men! I'm saving it for you, to give you later."
Sienna was quite upset. "Natalie is living much better than me! Gavin and Cynthia never withhold her pocket money!"
After she said this, Kingsley looked at her for a long time.
He stared at her so long that Sienna got a bit scared.
Finally, Kingsley laughed. "Seems like you're quite dissatisfied with me."
Sienna got scared. "I'm not!"
"Aren't you envious of other people's brothers and sisters-in-law? When you came back just now, wasn't Johnny the first one you looked for? You didn't even see me here, but you came to me for money, right?"
Sienna was stunned by his words and didn't dare mention money again.
Instead, Johnny took out his checkbook, wrote a $2000,000 check for her, and patted her head. "If you need money in the future, just tell me."
Charlotte softly scolded him, saying he would spoil Sienna.
"It won't happen!" Sienna quickly said, then put the check in her pocket.
Charlotte glanced at Lola.
Lola slowly said, "I think it's better for Kingsley to discipline Sienna!"
Probably because of Frederick's upbringing, Sienna was the only one in the family who didn't work and was particularly good at spending money.
It wasn't a big deal, but someone had to keep an eye on her.
Johnny was quite fond of Sienna, but since Lola had spoken, he naturally wouldn't go against her.
Sienna looked at him.
In the end, she took out the freshly written check and ran back to Kingsley, softly calling him Kingsley. Kingsley glanced at her, then transferred $100,000 to her.
Sienna sniffled. "Thank you, Kingsley."
Kingsley looked at her. "Save it, or no man will be able to support you in the future."
Sienna said confidently, "Then I'll just go to your houses and spend your money."
Lola laughed. She pulled Sienna over, patting her head. "I'll support you!"
They were waiting for Frederick to start dinner, but he was at the police station.
In the afternoon, he received a call and went to the police station to see Johnny's father.
Years ago, the two men had once had dinner together because of their children, but they never expected to meet again under such circumstances.
Carlton looked disheveled. He stared at the man in front of him. After all these years, he was still as handsome as ever.
"Mr. Hawkins! Long time no see."
Frederick took out two cigarettes from the pack, tossing one to Carlton. Carlton hadn't had a cigarette in a long time and was a bit eager.
Frederick watched him for a while before lighting his own cigarette, slowly exhaling a smoke ring.
Carlton spoke directly, "Melissa wants to destroy me! Mr. Hawkins, I wronged Johnny, but he is still my son! Technically, we're in-laws. You can't just stand by and do nothing. If I'm convicted, Johnny's reputation will suffer too!"
Frederick slowly smoked, his gaze deep. Carlton felt ashamed in front of him. Frederick had a great background and excellent conditions, living a life different from others.
After a long time, Carlton squeezed out a sentence, "Help me with the lawsuit!"
Frederick laughed. "Did you think about Johnny before doing this? Yes, Melissa has nothing to do with him now, but they did date. How could you do this?"
Carlton couldn't answer.
Frederick leaned back, tossing a document. "Sign this, and I'll get you a lawyer!"
Carlton picked it up and was stunned.
It was a disownment document. Once signed, he and Johnny would no longer be related.
His face twitched. "Johnny is my son!"
"No! Johnny is my son! I raised him, not you."
Carlton's face twisted.
He was a terrible person; he abandoned his wife and child, yet expected his son to take care of him in old age.
He didn't want to sign!
Frederick stubbed out his cigarette, smiling faintly. "You don't have to sign! But think carefully, can you live well until the trial?"
Carlton looked at Frederick in disbelief.
Frederick's lips held a slight, noble, and cold smile.
He leaned in, his voice low. "Johnny is my son. I won't allow any stain on him, especially from you. People like you should disappear from this world, right?"
Carlton's eyes widened. After a long time, he realized Frederick wasn't joking.
With trembling hands, he signed his name. After signing, Johnny was no longer his son.
Frederick took the document, examining it carefully. After a while, he looked down and sneered. Carlton was such a coward, easily scared!
He stood up to leave.
Carlton's voice trembled. "Do you really consider him your son?"
Frederick paused, turning slightly. "You should ask, in Johnny's heart, who is his father!"
Frederick had that charm.
